Preparing and TTC in 2023 - Thread 2

Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Hi all hope I’m not too late to jump on!

A: 30 turning 31 in 10 days.
TTC #1
Start date - From December 22 so currently entering the third cycle hoping this month could be the one as it’s our first wedding anniversary in November 🥰

Goals for this month -

  1. Walk daily and limit my sugar intake
  2. I am not testing before 14dpo, I’ve no tests left and I’m refusing to buy anymore until I’m officially due AF.
  3. Remember my prenatal vitamin everyday 😂 I managed to remember the contraceptive pill everyday for 13 years but keep forgetting the prenatal one, go figure!

Well we got our BFP yesterday!

the changes I’ve made this cycle are:
we used pre-seed (when we remembered)
and TMI but we both only had sex when we really wanted it….

i haven’t tracked ovulation this month and I haven’t done cheeky tests during the TTC, not sure what made me test yesterday apart from id done a covid test earlier in the week because I felt like crap and my boobs are huge!

Hi I posted on the original thread then went a bit silence as general life took over! I made the decision to take a new dream job from Easter and then begin ttc in may or June. I originally was going to ttc in Jan. The new job is really exciting for me so I haven't regretted this decision.

I had some irregular cycles post pill (which I stopped mid September) so have done some opk strips to try and see if I am ovulating. I figured as I am not ttc I may as well calmly do the opks while my cycle regulates to hopefully reassure me or give me more info.

Finally this month my cycle has become regular again and I got a LH peak bang on time today. Fingers crossed it now stays that way! I am also a lot less stressed so hope that was the reason for the irregular cycles.

Last month I didn't get any LH peak but I realised today that I was doing the strips all wrong and leaving them in my urine for 5 mins rather than just dipping and then putting it on the side for 5 mins Blush.

Morning ladies,

period was due sat/Sunday and I’ve just had 2 incidences of spotting when I wipe each day and nothing else. No cramps etc but also no pregnancy symptoms. Also no sign of period yet today.

I last tested Saturday morning with a cheap boots hcg strip which was negative. Not really sure what’s happening

@Lindsey02 I would suggest testing again. If you’re pregnant you will get a positive now.

im off to meet one of my BFFs today with our kids, she has been ttc alongside me and is now 10weeks pregnant. I am unbelievably happy for her, this is her 2nd baby with a new partner, but also feel sad as I want that to be me too. I’ve got her some super cute baby gros that I bought us both in the sale in M&S last summer. I will give them to her today ♥️

I’m the exact same. Had spotting Thurs/ fri and AF due sat / sun.

Now nothing and I’m on CD32.

Tested using cheapies loads and all BFN.

Not sure what’s going on but just want AF to arrive now!

My only thought it that maybe I ovulated much later than I thought, and my spotting was implantation. It feels very unlikely though based on my charts.

None of that is helpful but you’re not alone!

Hi everyone, kept quiet for a few days on here.
I am experiencing some odd cramping today; I can only describe it as like a pulling/shooting sensation down there and in my uterus and vaginal area. HAs anyone ever had this? I am currently 10 DPO ordered some FRER from amazon which should come Wednesday.

Currently 10dpo with no symptoms other than some cramp pains in my lower belly. Did a cheapie strip test BFN. Period due in 6 days so will test tomorrow with a frer. If BFN I’ll leave until the day of my missed period.

@GingerJanee Welcome 😊 I'm with you on points 1 and 2!! I'm quite good at 3 because I leave them on the worktop 😅 fingers crossed you get that BFP soon.

@SweetLion I remember you! I'm considering applying for a new job which might mean I delay TTC but we'll see! It's hard to even get shortlisted for this employer, but nothing ventured nothing gained. It might encourage me to ask my current employer for the payrise I deserve. Easily done with the strips, I use clear blue because they are much easier to interpret!

@Mummyme87 You are such a sweet friend. Hopefully you won't be too far behind 😍 I really wish I could time TTC #2 with someone else but seems unlikely! My friends are either single or they are done with babies.

@Mummyme87 all my friends have newborns or are pregnant!! It’s so tough. My friends all got pregnant very easily too and no issues.

Fingers crossed some baby dust will rub off on you xx

@Mushroo any update? I’m still getting slight spotting when I wipe but not every time. It’s gone from pink to brown now. I don’t have period cramps or anything I just had shooting pain in my right side of my groin last night which went down my leg.

don’t want to test and see another negative but really not sure what’s happening

Took two different tests this morning and both BFN but zero sign that AF is imminent. After my very light spotting last week it’s completely dried up.

My BBT is still high as well.

Just want to know what’s going on now.

ive tested day 8-11 (today) - stark white, not a hint of a line. I swore I wouldn’t do this to myself haha. I’m due on Saturday. No signs of AF yet. I checked last months diary and I had fairly bad cramps by day 11 last month so I taking that as a good sign. And I’m probably symptom spotting but I do think my sense of smell has amped up- and the only other time I remember that happening is when I started a progesterone only pill. And if I’m pregnant progesterone should be amping up right? I just feel cautiously optimistic despite no line whatever. I’m excited it will be positive rather than scared it will be negative so hopefully won’t feel too awful if I’m wrong!

the timing would be so ideal!

Thank you! I was hoping for a nice valentines BFP but sadly no!

If I hadn’t had spotting last week I’d be happy enough it’s just a late period, but the spotting and then nothing has never happened before.

Anything that isn’t AF is surely a good sign! Fingers crossed for you

@Mushroo @CRbear it’s such a tense time isn’t it, waiting in limbo. Fingers crossed for BFPs for you both. It’s annoying there’s not a test that would show you instantly, but obviously that’s not possible haha

Hello! I’m very new here 🫣
I came off the pill in October 22, and my husband and I have been “trying” for our 1st ever since, however I fell and badly damaged all the ligaments in my foot and ankle before Christmas which put a bit of a stop to it because the slightest movement could reduce me to tears 🤦🏻‍♀️
Anyway, as a teacher I enjoy tracking things and seeing them progress, so this month I decided it was time to sort out my (admittedly sporadic) OPK usage and I’ve been doing 2 a day this cycle… as a result I’ve actually had positive OPKs the yesterday and today, which is the first I’ve ever seen that!
So my question is… do I ovulate the day after my 1st positive OPK, or after they start to become fainter again?

9DPO today. My son has a sickness bug and I'm not feeling so great so that's wiped out any symptom spotting! AF due on Saturday and I already know it'll arrive. Had a mega emotional meltdown on Sunday which is typical for me when it's due. Besides which DH thinks it's practically impossible for us to conceive first cycle after his vasectomy reversal. Still can't help but have a little hope though!

Looks like a few of us are at the same point! 🤞for some BFPs. I love looking at tests so if anyone wants some company with line spotting feel free to share!
