Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm out this month but also a little confused. Was feeling morning sickness, then bled lightly for 36 hours with cramping. Tested today, 4 days before AF w/ early response test and got BFN. So maybe I had an early MC/chemical?

@Mushroo still no af and neg clear blue for me

Glad I’m not alone in this!

DollyGx · 14/02/2023 21:36

Hi ladies, there’s been a few bfp’s since I was last on so big congratulations to those ladies!! 🥰 for the ones in the TWW you have my sympathy, I was convinced this month was my month but no, just a 36 day cycle! 🙃
I went to see an acupuncturist tonight, going to start that and see how I get on. She also advised I speak to my GP as we’ve technically been trying for a year now. I thought because I got pregnant last year but miscarried they would only count the year from after the miscarriage when we started trying again (September) but she advised no, they count it from the very beginning, regardless of the fact I did get pregnant. Just sharing that in case there is anyone in the same boat as me!
I’m hoping the acupuncture helps regulate my cycles and gets me ovulating earlier in the month 🤞🏼

What do people generally think are the best tests?
mum 14 dpo and am going to test in the morning
i used one of the Superdrug ones this morning and there is a super faint line (I might have line eyes!) so am going to redo tomorrow morning before I’m away for a few days x

Kittenmum89 · 15/02/2023 07:27

Congratulations for all the BFP on this chat, seems this is the lucky place to be.

im currently 11dpo still getting cramping and sharp shooting pains. Holding out to rest until tomorrow or Thursday though.

Any update today @Lindsey02 still nothing for me. I went don’t a Google rabbit hole and I’m now scared I have an ectopic which I’m well aware is me catastrophising and it’s just a late period in reality.

AF arrived yesterday and this morning I had a massive clot (TMI) but no pain.

so thrown when ovulation will be now. Maybe call the GP and see what they think but surely AF has to come at some point if tests are neg. Maybe they can check bloods for you? Hope it gets sorted hun x

I’m weirdly jealous of your period 😂 glad it’s resolved for you!

I’ve dropped a message to my GP as it takes a couple of days to get seen, so hopefully they’ll have some answers!

WolfMother326 · 15/02/2023 14:58

@mushroo how late are you? Hope you get some answers soon

Was due on Sunday :(. The most confusing part is I had spotting fri/sat which I always get before AF so all seemed completely normal, then it’s just stopped completely.

My DR has read my online request thing and told me to book a same day appointment tomorrow. So I should at least know a bit more tomorrow (assuming I actually managed to get an appointment 🙄)

Wonkyjelly · 15/02/2023 15:55

Haven’t had a chance to catch up, so apologies there. I’ve had norovirus and fainted 3 times in 3 hours last night. My poor husband had the shock of his life finding me on the toilet sprawled out with eyes in the back of my head. Happy valentines eh? 😅 My eldest daughter now has it, my youngest was the first to have it on Monday. Anyway, today I went for a wee and I had discharge that was pinky/brown. Did a cheap test and feel like I can see the faintest second line. Period due in 3 days and BFN up until this point. Surely too late to get a faint positive? Shouldn’t it be dark? Had a positive OPK Tue 2nd x

Improbablecat · 15/02/2023 18:09

Hi everyone. Sorry I joined the thread and haven't really caught up.

Had my period 27th Jan and Clue predicted ovulation on 8th Feb. Had been DTD every day or two.

I just projectile vomited across my office and did one of the cheapie tests we have at work. This looks pretty clear to me but surely it's too early for such a strong positive!? My period isn't due for a week.

Wonkyjelly · 15/02/2023 18:20

@Improbablecat Wow! Congratulations! Could your previous period have been Implantation? OPK’s show positive for pregnancy so I’ve heard? X

Improbablecat · 15/02/2023 18:33

@Wonkyjelly oh that's a really good point. I did a test that was negative about 5 mins before period arrived, but it was pretty light and a couple of days shorter than usual so it's possible.
I'm quite 🤯 as I wasn't expecting it to be so quick.

Kittenmum89 · 15/02/2023 18:51

Hi ladies.

@Improbablecat wow congratulations! That really clear rest I would say.

I took a test today BFN. But only on cycle day 23 usually have 28 days cycles. So might be a bit early. Used a clearblue. Think I may try again at weekend with a FRER. But have feeling I’m out this month.

Tophy124 · 15/02/2023 19:14

Hi all!!

got a BFN today at 12dpo so I’m out. Now wishing AF would hurry up!! Feeling really sad and depressed about it all today

Wonkyjelly · 15/02/2023 19:49

@Improbablecat I think that’s what you’ll find is you’re further along than you thought. So excited for you! I know (through this site) that someone only realised they were pregnant because their OPK came up peak 2 days after their period stopped, which was unusual for them. Keep us updated and huge congratulations again x

Wonkyjelly · 16/02/2023 07:41

I’m out! Bizarre as 3 super faint BFP last night one frer and x2 one step. But woke up to AF so yeh, I’m out. Best of luck to everyone 🤗✨

SMG1992 · 16/02/2023 08:15

I think I'm pregnant again. I had a MMC in mid Jan and my pregnancy tests were negative post miscarriage and had a scan at EPU to check there was nothing retained. Then lat week took a CB and it showed 1-2 weeks which would be right for my ovulation date which I picked up on a test and DTD.
Then took again this morning and CB still showing 1-2 (so no progression but 2 weeks would still be right for ovulation) and I took another test from amazon with a faint line on 1 and 2 weeks sections.

I really don't want to get my hopes up too much so am going to wait and test again next week but I think I'm pregnant again!!

buckingmad · 16/02/2023 08:38

9dpo here, testing tomorrow morning when DH is back from a work trip.

Trying really hard not to symptom spot as this is first month trying for 2nd baby and it took us 12 months last time. But I've been having on off mild cramping for the last few days and my BBT is high. Last time I had regular nosebleeds from about 14dpo through to about 20 weeks so I'm kind of wishing for a nosebleed 😂

HannahLouD · 16/02/2023 14:02

Hi all! 😊

Does anyone have any experience with testing with the cheapie easy@home strips? I use them for opk and they seem to be really good but not sure about the pregnancy test strips? I've got 20 that came with my opks and wondering when to start testing with them/when they would be likely to show a bfp if it were to be my month... I know frers are much more reliable and you can test earlier with them, but with my poas addiction, I can't afford to use them all the time 😂

Thanks everyone and good luck to all still waiting and congrats again to those who have got their bfps! 😊x

buckingmad · 16/02/2023 15:11

I only used cheapy pregnancy tests after I got my BFP and just wanted a little reassurance for those first few weeks until my 12 week scan. They never really got that dark tbh so think they're probably only much use once your period is due or imminent.

PeopleAreToads · 16/02/2023 15:27

@HannahLouD I used them and got a BFP at about 10 dpo, which was the same as an Frer and earlier than clear blue

Tophy124 · 16/02/2023 17:07

@HannahLouD I used them this month (search my name or I can repost the pic if you want) and I had 6 with lines. My dr thinks I either had a chemical or they were dodgy tests! If you google them unfortunately a lot of women have had lines come up with them and then not been pregnant. I’ve used them a lot and I may have just got a dodgy batch this month or a chemical. Apparently you’re not meant to pee on them directly, but only dip them xx

PeopleAreToads · 16/02/2023 19:54

@Tophy124 @HannahLouD I think it's because they're more sensitive than a lot of tests, so pick up early when the risk of a chemical is higher
