Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

I'm really hoping as had a chemical last month , achey legs and cramping today got early detection coming today but gonna wait till morning to do it

@Piglet34 I’ve ended up sick these last couple days so really not feeling like BD 🥲 been having a google and really hoping I’ll still ovulate this month! I think we’ll try pre-seed if this isn’t our cycle. The fertlily cup is a little trick to use I’m finding!

@kalixxx ow sorry to hear you are under the weather, hope you feel better soon! Are you tracking with OPKs for ovulation or just going with the flow? I'm sure you will still ovulate even if it's a bit later this cycle :) yeah pre seed was easy to use and think we will continue to do so even if this isn't our cycle, can't hurt to! Have you used a mooncup before, when I first started I found it soooo difficult and can imagine they are similar, gets better with practice though! X

@Piglet34 been using OPK’s for the last 3 days and the line has got weaker each day when I thought today would be my peak! 😩 fingers crossed it’ll peak in the next few days!

I was hoping I could join😊 we are cycle 1 of TTC baby #1. My cycle is 31 days on average and I am currently predicted for ovulation today and have BD last night and again this morning. I have been using OPKs & temping (only for a few days).

I have been OPK 2/3 times a day to make sure I catch the peak and I'm very grateful as I've gone straight from low to peak and back to low again within 18 hours (didn't know it was possible with no high) so would have missed it if I didn't test last night.

Now entering the TWW and hoping to have someone to chat to about it as it's actually rather lonely I've found.

Hi everyone;

so today is CD 4, AF is basically gone (very little bleeding if any and only when I wipe) so as advised I started documenting my ovulation this morning and evening.

uploaded onto Premom and it kept reading 0 this evening then it read 1.5 so tried a few more times and it said 1.34 then 1.27 - is anyone having any technical difficulties with Premom?
anyway, I’ve added my pictures below of test on its own and also within the Premom app.
does this look like it could be my peak so close to AF going?

How long is your cycle if you don't mind me asking? I believe it's possible to ovulate on CD5 with a 23 day cycle which could show a positive OPK on CD4. Sometimes you can also ovulate twice in a month too so could see two peaks this month x

Month 1. Deliberately not tracking or counting until it’s been at least a year, and have changed nothing in my life!

Hi @KIWI2023 my cycles vary from 28-33 this months was 30 and on 31 AF came.
I don’t know whether to worry that tonight was a positive test so early after AF. Could mean poor egg quality or a cyst. I’m down a rabbit hole checking as we missed my peak last month.

Do you track your temp? If so I would keep and eye over the next few days as you will see a rise if you do ovulate, I also read on the Premom app (community section) sometimes it's your body gearning up to ovulate and it may have failed but you can often see another later in the month around expected ovulation dates. There's a couple of examples on there though of people who have peaked twice and still got a BFP that month. Do you have any early reading tests to see if they can pick up any HCG just in case it is that? Fingers crossed this is your month!

@KIWI2023 thank you for your reply! Yeah I took 2 early pregnancy tests this week and both negative. Hoping it’s just a false surge as OH is working nights and I work days so we’re just passing ships over the next few days and hopefully I get my peak on my expected ovulation days!

I am okay on 8dpo now and had some brown spotting the last two days which I always get from about now until AF :( I'm hoping it's caused by my cervical ectropion and not something that affects TTC. Makes me lose hope for this cycle but who really knows, will test in a few days I think! X

You also have an ectropion! Never had them before the mirena, had to have 2 lasered off because they bled when I walked they were so sensitive. Got a third but hasn't gotten bad enough to require treatment.

@FlyingHighFlyingLow yes! They are so annoying. Glad you managed to get yours treated when it was bad!

I had mine diagnosed with a colposcopy but that was probably about 6 years ago now, but didn't get any treatment as it's only a bit of brown spotting each month and they said it could come back anyway. No idea if i definitely still have it as haven't been checked but the spotting is still here so thinking I must do? Am hoping it is that tbh as no impact on TTC then.

Hi all, been reading this forum this morning and so comforting to read about others in the same boat - it can be quite lonely! Been TTC since start of this year so on cycle 3. Been temping and using OPK since start but everything all over the place with dates & predictions so feeling all very confused and overwhelmed especially when I'm too nervous to talk to anyone in real life about it all! Had peak OPK at day 22 first 2 cycles but day 10 this cycle so potentially 2DPO but I don't really trust anything?! Who knows what's happening...! Fingers crossed for you all - I defs underestimated what TTC would be like!

Hi @NavigatingLife I too completely underestimated TTC and what really goes into creating life. I also didn't understand how hard the TWW would be. I feel that it's consuming most of my thoughts.

Currently two of my best friends are 37 and 40 weeks pregnant with their firsts and both pregnancies were surprises which now thinking about it the odds are so slim it's a miracle really.

I'm using 3 apps (Flo, Glow & Premom) all of them had different estimations for ovulation so that's been super confusing and I'm glad I've been using OPK & temping but still who knows if it will work. I only found out about SMEP yesterday so think I'll kick myself for not knowing sooner if this isn't our month🙃

Mumsnet is a godsend for info, advice and support and I don't know how anyone does this without speaking to some lovely people in the same boat.

Welcome new ladies ❤️ lovely to have more along on this crazy TTC journey! I agree I never imagined that this is what it would be like and so nice to have somewhere to talk about it all.

I stupidly did a test this morn at 9dpo and bfn 😞 had a lot of brown spotting and unusual cramps yday and thought AF was coming but then gone today. Feeling sick this eve but could be because I ate so much 🤣🤣 hope your all having a nice weekend xxx

I have an update;
I had my AF Monday to Wednesday- then nothing Thursday (except once when I wiped) then on Friday had a some bleeding.
Woke up this morning feeling exceptional nauseous and was gagging over the toilet but not being sick, sitting tonight and I have a twinge pain in my stomach, took a test and I swore there was a line, and my OH seen a very faint line. But now is completely gone and over the time limit.
we swore we missed last months fertile window but now I’m not so sure. Will test in the morning with FMU and see.
I have been having really weird OPK tests being super high then low.

no-one ever tells you how hard actually planning and trying for a baby really is and the amount of stress we go through to achieve it.

I'm 5dpo today/6 days after my peak, nothing to report at all. Boobs fine, no cramps, no spotting, no reflux. I have become bizarrely spotty though 🤷‍♀️. I'm supposed to be sparring Tuesday (I do MMA), but not really sure what the guidance there is! I'll get thrown around a lot but don't usually take stomach hits.

@KIWI2023 hadn't heard about Premom or SMEP before this discussion - got Premom now too for another app to use 🥴

I uploaded the photo I had of my questionable peak on OPK CD10 to premom (test line was really dark on the left side but then got faint in colour to the right) and the app said it was pretty low so I'm just gunna keep testing for this week to see if anything changes!

Have had weird feeling last week. Cramping on Thur, headaces , overcome sick feeling yesterdaboobse , boob are a little tender today day.

Had chemical last month but couldn't help testing early I know I shouldn't but this time I've not mention results to anyone not even husband , thought I'd see progression and then hopefully get stronger lines and test then do a clearblue after period is due , want to surpilrse him on 1st wedding anniversary if postive

Done one at 12.06 - positve strong

3.12pm - postive strong
4.30 pm postive

All came up straight away ..... I'm really hoping get another strong in the morning and waiting for frer test to come I'm really having everything crossed
