Anyone had their gender scans...?

MillieKitty · 10/04/2023 15:52

@PPop I'm not finding the gender out but still have a strong feeling it is a girl,
Had reduced movements the last few days so went to get checked and all fine, I either have a really lazy baby or one that is hiding away in there, how is everyone doing?

HJA87 · 10/04/2023 16:24

@PPop I found out really early as I had the NIPT (and we’re having a boy). We already have a 2 year old girl so will be nice to have one of each ;)

PPop · 10/04/2023 19:38

I had a BP spike so on the fence about whether I'm gonna end up with preeclampsia which is super annoying! Lots of back and forth last couple weeks but it's under control now with meds!

Probably going to end up having my c section early which is fine... 17 weeks now! Hurrah nearly half way!!
I had a gender scan at 14 weeks and we were told we are having a little girl! But then a midwife got in my head and said hmm that seems to early to know!! But I felt all along I was having a girl!

HJA87 · 10/04/2023 20:39

@PPop I had preeclampsia in my previous pregnancy and it was fine. Was put on blood pressure meds until my early c section at 38 weeks. Congrats on having a girl! 14 weeks is quite early to find out but I was told boy at the 12 week scan (although she did say it’s not 100%) which was later confirmed with the blood test.

I already have a blood pressure issue which is annoying but there has been no reason to why, so it has taken 5 tablets a day but we got there 😂 my friend who is a nurse chuckled as she said most peoples BP drops but mine had to do
The opposite, my body has always been contrary 😂

MillieKitty · 12/05/2023 11:00

How is everybody doing? X

ScaredSally · 12/05/2023 17:31

@MillieKitty up and down for me! 32 weeks and had my first growth scan and measuring a few weeks behind so having lots of extra checks in the next few weeks... stressful finding out at the same point my son was still born but trying so hard to stay hopeful that we'll bring this little one home! How're you?

MillieKitty · 12/05/2023 19:21

Oh bless you I'm glad your having extra scans and being kept an eye on, I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine but I understand your worry, I am fine, just relentless heartburn !

Wrenegade · 12/05/2023 20:35

@MillieKitty sorry about your heart burn. Have you found anything that helps you?

I’m doing well, almost 27 weeks now and baby girl is doing fine. I’m feeling very achey and finding sleep uncomfortable now. Enjoying slowly getting things ready for her arrival.

@ScaredSally it is understandable that you’re feeling up and down. I’m pleased that you are being taken care of and checked in on.

MillieKitty · 12/05/2023 21:15

@Wrenegade eek isn't it crazy thinking back to last year when we were all talking about ovulation etc and now we are full on about to become parents 🤯

PPop · 14/05/2023 13:37

Hello! It's crazy that this time last year this was just a beginning of a plan for me and DH.

I am finding that I am nearly constantly needing to wee draining 😂 but 22 weeks tomorrow, I must admit I dislike being pregnant so I can't wait to have the baby in a few more months!

How has everyone found pregnancy?

PPop · 12/06/2023 09:55

Hello! How is everyone doing? Any babies yet?

Wrenegade · 12/06/2023 09:59

@PPop hello! No baby here yet, 9 weeks/56 days till due date. I’m really enjoying the third trimester. Baby is growing big now and we can’t wait to meet her. How are you?

I am 26 weeks today got 11 weeks to go as I had a bit of a blood pressure issue and they then said 37 weeks for c section to get her out!
When do you go on maternity leave? I haven't loved being pregnant so far so I'm hoping the third trimester I'll have a sudden glow up 😂
How are you coping in the heat?

How are you feeling, the blood pressure issue sounds like it might have been quite scary? Not very long for you to go! In fact if my baby stays put yours may arrive first.
I am 31 weeks now and also hated the first and second trimesters, I felt so ill and tired. I have another six weeks. Planning to go on mat leave the day before due date but on annual leave from week 37. How about you?

PPop · 12/06/2023 10:19

It was a bit scary @Wrenegade but I have blood pressure issues anyway it's controlled now on meds but it has meant any considering I might have done of a natural labour just went clean out the window 😂 but I was prepping for a c section anyway so it's fine.
Going off on annual leave from 14th august then my maternity starts the 28th so that isn't too long, I feel like I'm counting the days whilst I'm trying to stay awake these days as with the heat sleep has gone! I might just have to try the dogs chill blankets on me see if they cool me down!
How have you found movements? You will have a steady pattern now? Are you finding it easy to track?

Wrenegade · 12/06/2023 11:07

@PPop I’m glad that it is all under control and you are being monitored. Are you feeling ready for the c section? We’re in the middle of a hypnobirthing class and about to start NCT classes too. I’m feeling quite excited!

My mat leave starts on the 14th August but annual leave starts on the 24th July ☺️. I am struggling with the heat, I’m finding it hard to sleep and feel more irritated. The chill blankets sound ideal tho! Baby has had a very regular pattern since 17 weeks, always the most active in the evening but rolls through out the day. She is also very responsive to the bump being touched and usually responds. How have you found movements? I did have a fall at work at 26 weeks and she stopped moving for a few hours but the labour ward monitored her and all was well thankfully.

ScaredSally · 12/06/2023 17:06

2 weeks 4 days left for me! .... and my last 2 weeks of work (if I make it that far) determined to see my year 11 class through to their last exam! Been getting scanned every 2 weeks during the third trimester and it's been great to see him grow each time but I definitely just want him here now... can't wait to meet him!

MillieKitty · 12/06/2023 18:19

Eek I'm 35 weeks now! How is everyone coping in the heat? It is killing me! 🥵

Wrenegade · 12/06/2023 21:23

@ScaredSally it must be lovely to see him in a scan so often. Whilst of course I don’t want a reason to need a scan it would be great to see her again. You’re an absolute warrior to keep going and be there for your year 11’s! I hope you’re getting lots of support and rest in between.

@MillieKitty not very well at all today, I don’t know what to do with myself! How are you?

MillieKitty · 12/06/2023 21:39

@Wrenegade I've been sweating from places I didn't even know existed 😂

Sorry to hear about your fall! That must have been scary, so glad all is well afterward , bet you can't wait to finish work

PPop · 13/06/2023 11:12

@Wrenegade I feel totally ready for the c section in theory then I get spooked by how it's going to make me feel, I'm nervous of the pushing/pulling as that seems to be what people dislike and having my spine injected just as I know that that his historically been an issue since fracturing my back! I worried about the catheter for ages but I guess I won't know my vagina is flapping in the breeze so it'll be okay once the block kicks in 😂

I just want her to get to the 37 weeks, safely and healthily and meet her. I imagine we all thing that though!

Oh @ScaredSally and @MillieKitty you guys are SO CLOSE! I'm excited for you!

ScaredSally · 16/07/2023 08:46

It's been a while but my little man was born 6th July weighing an impressive 8lb 13! The newborn phase is tough but so magical! Hope your all well! X

Wrenegade · 16/07/2023 10:37

@ScaredSally congratulations on your baby boy, what an impressive weight. Well done on cooking him so well. Hope you’re getting lots of rest and support and enjoying your new horn bubble 🥰
