Halloween testers 🎃

Hi all,

I’m just starting my TWW and planning on testing around 29 October (unless period comes sooner which it did last month!)

Anyone else planning to test around Halloween?

@Billyv I love a puzzle! I think your line on FRER for the 12th looks great and it is definitely progressing which is reassuring! I think maybe if you had tested sooner (14dpo for example) it would have been positive! And I wouldn’t get too disheartened by an internet cheapie! But I understand why you are worried!! I think its possible that you possibly ovulated later then thought and maybe implanted a little later and have a slower HCG rise but its not totally unheard of for that to happen!! I have everything crossed for you and try not to worry too much!!

Had you not been actively trying and known your potential O date etc you probably wouldn’t even be worrying! Before I found these forums I never knew anything about line progression and when implantation should happen etc, I assumed you just test, get a positive and your pregnant and thats that!! Oh to be naive again!! I like these forums and they are a great support but sometimes I wonder if these forums cause unnecassary anxiety! Lets remember we aren’t robots and everybody is different and no pregnancy is textbook!

@Roxybabe yes absolutely, I've been going down a lot of Mumsnet wormholes in the last few days. Really bad idea if you're a natural worrier. I think I could have ovulated up to 4 days later than I thought, which would have put the bleed i had at around 10dpo. I wonder if that was implantation, but it took a few more days for the levels to rise. Who knows 🤷

I'm so looking forward to speaking to a Dr on Monday!

@Billyv Honestly, I think you’ll be fine! Like I said before, nobody knows the exact day they ovulate! Ppl assume its 24 hours post positive OPK but I think some women ovulate maybe 2-3 days after!! Who really knows! I think these forums make you obsess over DPOs and what day you should implant etc!! your line is pretty good! I def wouldn’t say it was faint! keep us posted! I want to say congratulations but I’lm wait for your update but I have a good feeling for you!

@Billyv life has been hectic and I've not been on my phone much but I have been thinking of you. You'd swear we were real life friends lol. I'm with @Roxybabe it's all a bit confusing at the moment but I think it's looking good also. Can't wait for your update I hope you're well

Hello! Ahh thanks for checking in @Roxybabe. Not too much to report, I went in for a blood test after speaking to the Dr on the phone. Will be going back on weds for a second test. Then next steps depend on whether HCG is rising at the correct rate.

No progression on latest tests, but at least that gives me a heads up the bloods might not be brilliant.

Should know by Friday hopefully!

Hope everything is ok with you. Nice to know people are thinking of me ☺️ it does help. Haven't told anyone in real life yet (excluding DP of course)

Ohh! The worst thing. My Dr is away today so I won't get them until tomorrow. I phoned reception to ask if another Dr would be available but they said only for emergencies.

I mean, it's a personal emergency...

Hello. I'm actually in a&e at the moment, my Dr spoke to a gynaecological and sent me up - it's to rule out ectopic. I ended up calling the drs again in the end as I've been having some pain on my left hand side, spotting and a weird ...um pain in the bum. Hoping I'll get seen fast. Feeling calm now I'm here.

Hope all is ok and still good news for you! Positive vibes! I always thought with ectopic you got a positive HPT very early and I know yours was late so fingers crossed for you! 🤞🤞🙏❤️

Hello! Thanks @Roxybabe it's definitely an early miscarriage or ectopic.

Ectopic is scenario 1 as there was a slight rise in my HCG level. They can't see anything on a scan until HCG is at 1000, mine is 390. But they might do an ultrasound on my stomach to check for bleeding outside the uterus.

Apparently if the ectopic is small then the most likely outcome is it resolves itself. They are thinking this is what will probably happen. Your body just sorts it.

Scenario 2 is standard miscarriage. They might still want to scan to check everything is passing ok - not that there is much to pass - as there is a slight risk of infection.

Waiting to hear if my HCG level has gone up or down.

It's honestly ok, I wasn't expecting much. I mean, it's shit but it's not the same level of shit as finding out at the 12wk scan that your baby stopped growing at 9wk, for example.

@Billyv I'm heartbroken for you. But as you say it's far better than finding out later on. You're so lucky you're ok and (hopefully) don't need any procedures.

Maybe focus on yourself for the next wee while I'm a strong believer of what's for you won't pass you. Everything happens for a reason 💕

Thank you @SmurfStar I'm feeling OK. I was only pregnant for a week and it isn't like we've been trying for months and months - and I have a little boy to be cheerful for. Still have some heavy spotting, weird it hasn't really increased or decreased, except for pausing overnight 2 nights ago. A little pain but not as intense.

Best of luck to all of you on this thread, I'm hoping you're getting some BFPs on the new one that was made, if it's coming up to that time.

Final twist... It was ectopic! In hospital this morning minus 1 fallopian tube. I'm ok 😌

I'm ok ☺️ but they had to operate as I was bleeding internally. Kind of a shock when the sonographer called the consultant in and they were muttering together about seeing blood moving around in my tummy and surgery today. Urgh. Then waiting until 10pm for the op. But I'm all good and about to have breakfast

You've such an amazing attitude @Billyv I hope you recover well. Look after yourself and tell your hubby you'll be needing tlc for quite a while. Milk it, you deserve it!! 😉
