Hi all,

I’m just starting my TWW and planning on testing around 29 October (unless period comes sooner which it did last month!)

Anyone else planning to test around Halloween?

Hope it clears up soon @Roxybabe x

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 17:40

@Roxybabe I’d try and get seen UTIs are the absolute devil!! Im surprised I didn’t get one this month🤣

ChipAndDip · 21/10/2022 18:18

Hi all! 4dpo for me so too soon for symptom spotting, although I have been needing the loo constantly! šŸ‘€

@Roxybabe I also vote for doctors, I used to suffer from UTIs loads and you really don’t want to let it turn into something nasty - get it out while you can!

@MendaciousMabel I totally know what you mean, since TTC I’ve noticed so much about my body that I never realised before! Amazing how we ignore these things when they don’t seem important.

The only time I’ve been pregnant (ended in MMC unfortunately) my earliest symptom was being so so tired and that started at about 7-10dpo. So all of you feeling sleepy it sounds like a good sign šŸ¤ž

I got some antibiotics! I’m hoping they don’t screw with any chances I may have of a BFP but I’m not not going to take them, UTIs are horrible!

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 19:25

@Roxybabe i don’t think it would!! I’d take the antibiotics too they’re sooo painful, hopefully you’re not feeling too bad xx

MendaciousMabel · 21/10/2022 19:32

Glad you have antibiotics - i wouldn't have thought they'd cause a problem but keeping everything crossed for you @Roxybabe

I do feel like I'm going a bit mad @ChipAndDip - I've ordered a thermometer that arrived today so I can start tracking bbt if I go into a second cycle. Another thing to keep track of 🤣

AliceD7 · 21/10/2022 19:48

Hello ladies!

I hope it’s okay for me to join!? :)

Me and my husband recently got married and now trying for a baby! This is our second cycle trying, AF is due next Saturday 29th. Driving myself mental already symptom spotting but I know it’s silly!

Fingers crossed for all of you! :)

Roxybabe · 21/10/2022 19:56

@ChipAndDip @ChloeN @MendaciousMabel thanks ladies, gosh it’s been a while since I have had one, forgot how painful they are! And theres quite alot of blood, hoping thats normal with a UTI, I don’t remember bleeding so much last time I had one. I’ve taken the first dose so hoping symptoms will ease soon! Maybe all that BD isn’t such a good idea after all! I’m guessing an infection down below isn’t going to help my chances. But we will see!

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 19:57

@Roxybabe are you drinking plenty?? I’ve had blood a few times when I don’t drink enough during one!

Billyv · 21/10/2022 19:59

I didn't know you can actually bleed with them. That's horrendous!

MendaciousMabel · 21/10/2022 20:02

Oh @Roxybabe that sounds awful! Stay hydrated and hopefully the ABs kick in pretty quick. I had a UTI a couple of months ago and they did alleviate the worst of it pretty quickly x

Roxybabe · 21/10/2022 20:25

@ChloeN @MendaciousMabel yes on my 4th litre!! Isn’t it crazy i’m now googling ā€˜uti 4dpo.. early pregnancy symptom’ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ ridiculous!! How many dpo are you? Anyone testing soon?

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 20:27

@Roxybabe lol it is more common in pregnancy🤣 im 8dpo, aiming to test if my period is late which is next weekend!xx

Harper02 · 21/10/2022 21:19

Heyyyy, af due 30 October šŸŽƒ

Mc3209 · 21/10/2022 21:32

You know how I said I won't test until 31st? Well, I'm just 1-2 dpo and my stupid brain is symptom spotting already although I know that's completely ridiculous. I need to keep myself occupied for next week..

MendaciousMabel · 21/10/2022 21:32

I'm 7dpo @Roxybabe still another week to go til AF for me idk how I'm going to manage. Patience isn't my strong suit 🤣

AliceD7 · 21/10/2022 22:03

I’m the exact same! How long have you been trying?

OneHundredOtters · 21/10/2022 22:06

Me too! Based on how often I managed to convince myself I had civid when I didn't have covid I think it's going to be a long two weeks.

Roxybabe · 21/10/2022 22:36

I’m also terrible at waiting, I have caved every month at 9/10 DPO but determined not to this month! I really believe all is does is cause anxiety! Because if you see a negative then you tell yourself ā€˜oh its still early maybe I’ll get one tomorrow’ then before you know it you’re testing daily trying to convince yourself you are still in with a chance only for AF to arrive and you have wasted alot of money on tests, but if you are lucky enough to get an early BFP you are then left anxiously waiting to see if it sticks and doesn’t turn into a CP. I really think waiting until atleast 12/13 DPO at the earliest is best…. Now watch me cave at 10DPO and torment myself another month šŸ˜‚

ChloeN · 21/10/2022 22:44

@Roxybabe lol you sound like me🤣 I’m determined to wait I hate looking at faint lines!

Roxybabe · 21/10/2022 22:50

Also I have a theory that when ppl get their BFPs at ā€˜8/9 DPO’ for example, they’re not actually 8/9 DPO, the reality is they are probably a little further along and have guesstimated ovulation or they are going with their app which is incorrect. Nobody knows the exact moment you ovulate, even with OPKs and BBT, they give you a good idea but it’s not exact! I know some people can get BFPs earlier on but its not as common as you would think. But these forums make it seem the norm.

ChipAndDip · 21/10/2022 23:02

I agree @Roxybabe @ChloeN I don’t see the positives of testing early tbh. Although I’m sure I’ll eat my words one day!

I think because I only tested at 17dpo in my first pregnancy (I thought I’d had a period so didn’t test until late) I now only want to see those nice dark lines again. No squinters for me thank you!

OP posts:
ChloeN · 21/10/2022 23:40

@ChipAndDip defo it’s so nice to see dark lines and the word pregnant straight away!! I am glad I tested early last month as I was worried I hadn’t ovulated so it made me feel better to know that I had but it was so stressful at the same time!

Billyv · 22/10/2022 06:53

@Roxybabe I think I genuinely did have an 8 or 9dpo BFP because I did OPKs and bbt - but it was a real squinter and yep, it just added a week of unnecessary stress and googling line progression pics, so will definitely try to wait at least a few more days this time.
