Hey ladies I have been brave and started new thread.
Aquababe will not have to look at her thread opener again.

OP posts:
ladyhelen2 · 09/04/2008 13:57

I've not posted in a while( move around at work and no access to PC) so I'm just catching up with the thread - just getting through the recent posts. Pleased that there are some BFPs on the thread - gives me some hope!

I'm with those of you trying reflexology - I was having regular treatments from September and then fell pg sometime in early Jan. Who knows if it helped but I am back on it again now and have an appointment tomorrow.

Has anyone tried hynotherapy? The reason I ask is that two days before I had my last period before DS I had hypnotherapy to give up smoking as we were TTC. It worked on the smoking front, and obviously then I got my BFP a month later. I think I may have another go with this if there is no BFP in next month or so.

Am on CD 19 so officially in the 2WW. Anyone else around the same?

quarkee · 09/04/2008 14:03

Jackstini CONGRATULATIONS!!! How lovely for you - b*gger work - invent an illness or do one trip and not the other so at least you half the effort. Sooooooo pleased for you!!

Lots happening on the thread so will have to read back but as i do I'll offer round some of the choclate profiteroles I brought with me...

Antibiotics are kicking in and I dragged myself through the client workshop yesterday thank goodness. Overdid it a bit though I think as I had a sobbing session in bed last night (just knackered, DS still coughing, DH down with the lurgy, PD getting me down my hand started shaking in the workshop which was a little distracting as I'm sure you can imagine, missing being pg, you know the usual). Have resolved to take some time off work to get my head together.

The guys were teasing me yesterday morning (nicely, I like my work colleagues) about how Ive been ill for the past month or so and I almost burst into tears in front of them - i felt like saying 'you have NO idea WHAT the past few weeks have been like' but of course I didn't/ couldn't

I know life goes on but smoetimes its hard work isnt it? I'm thinking of you all out 'there' somewhere all getting on with it all depite ex DH's and insensitive friends and whatever...good to know you're there.

quarkee · 09/04/2008 14:13

of course this could all be down to the hormones

Jackstini · 09/04/2008 14:14

Wish I could Quarkee but there's only me representing the UK.
I know if I got run over by a bus they would have to do without me but have seen my boss & can't think of anything serious enough to cancel that he wouldn't see iyswim?!
Do any of your work colleagues know about your PD? I think you are a marvel for battling through it whilst coping with all kinds of other crap.
Hi LadyHelen - there are a few people on 2ww with you - see this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1366/503329?stamp=080409120442
Anyway I have an early scan so will be counting down now until 9th May!

quarkee · 09/04/2008 14:34

Everything crossed for 9 May! Am a bit but in a good way

Re work you could go and then slope off from dinner/whatever a bit early - I did that when i was pg with DS and on a week long course - everyone else went to Montreux Casino and I went to bed!!! I am normally the one propping the bar up at 3am (well I was pre DS) so that was a bit of a culture shock We also had a wine tasting evening which involved me sipping VERY slowly on one glass all night.

Seriously, you'll know if you are overdoing things, you 'just' have to listen to what your body tells you. I was very quiet all morning yesterday so as to save up energy for the workshop, out of character and the guys i was taking along with me were visibly nervous (I could almost hear them thinknig will she make it?) but heck it worked!

They dont know about the PD - my immediate boss does but I am up for a big promotion and dont want to damage my chacnes so we agreed to keep schtum (v good boss i have) which is better really, I'd hate for them to think I cant operate properly.

Good luck with the trips

mistlethrush · 09/04/2008 15:48

Congratulations Jackstini - sending sticky thoughts . Going to recurrent mc unit tomorrow to find out results. Dh not sure that he can get there , so might have to take notes. Will also have to tell them that the allergy consultant has recommended avoiding ibruprofen, asprin, nurofen, codine and dicolfenac, and has suggested an 'exposure' test for paracetamol - which they can't do if I'm pregnant (you never know your luck)(perhaps that's the pressure that I will need in order to get pregnant again ) - so there is the potential that I might be able to get pregant and effectively not be able to take any normal pain killer! Yippee I don't think!

Managed to jump dh so, for a change, I am actually on 2ww rather than knowing that there is not any chance. Slightly better, but still not very likely!

Jackstini · 09/04/2008 16:31

Mistle lol at you jumping dh! Hope all goes well tomorrow and you get some answers. Is there any chance dh might make it?
Quarkee I am also usually the one propping up the bar - am so convinced they will click on to why I am not drinking!

jassara · 09/04/2008 16:49

Hi ladies can I join you please

Had a MC in Jan, would of been my third child...just never thought it would happen to me...but I was wrong.

Thought I was doing OK up until this afternoon when I went to my youngest ds playgroup. I sat in between two moms who had newborn babies one of them is a friend who I always sit with and was sort of dreading it before I went. It was awful, I felt like crying and getting my coat. Then I found out that a pregnant mom who I try to avoid speaking to now, is due the day before I was due. Not sure if I can face going next week, but my ds loves it.

Wanted to have a good cry when I got home but my older ds always asks a million questions as to why I,m upset.

Thought it might make me feel better talking to you lovely ladies!

quarkee · 09/04/2008 17:00

LOL jack - when I was pg with DS some of the first people to know were the bar staff at our local - they kept asking if I was on a detox!!!

quarkee · 09/04/2008 17:03

jassara hello and [hugs]]]]]] sorry you had to join us but everyone here has been just lovely to me so I am sure we can try to help - have a piece of profiterole...

quarkee · 09/04/2008 17:04

What am I saying - have a whole one

jassara · 09/04/2008 17:07

Oooooh i love profiteroles......craving chocolate as AF due tomorrow

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 09/04/2008 19:33

Hi everyone. Can I offer you some lovely Milk tray chocs? And I haven't even snaffled all the good ones yet .

Jacks - incredibly happy for you and have got everything crossed for you that this one works out.

Hello everyone else and welcome Jassara.

Tired, tired, tired today as AF (I think) made appearance. So just popped on to send hugs and baby dust to one and all. xxxxx

jassara · 09/04/2008 19:47

Thank you for the welcomes and the offer of yummy chocs!!

Think my AF is rearing her ugly head too GG

divedaisy · 09/04/2008 20:10

Bunny - Ilove your theory about working for yourself and only getting in mums to work for you cos you knwo they'll work real hard! That sounds like a great idea (or idear as my ds says!!). I own my own Ltd company along with my hubby, and yes it's great being your own boss and working the hours that suit you, but believe it or not I think I'm working longer hours now than when I was a civil servant (well I know there wasn't much work done but hey!!... only joking - I DID work and hard too!!) But I can work when I want to and at the moment it suits me fine. Saying that we've only been established less than a year, so it's still at the early busy mad stage!

As for me ERPC -the service I got was great I have to admit I kind of thought it was standard! MAybe it should be suggested to your Trusts.

And we are ttc again - already!! 4 days after the ERPC - is that too early?

napa · 09/04/2008 20:37

no we're the same but just to be warned my ERPC was last tues and suddenly last night had bad period pain and bled loads (sorry if tmi). its stopped again today but was very weird so just beware

MollieMooma · 09/04/2008 20:51

PrePg Sorry I can't keep up with who is ttc and who isn't but like you said at least you know where you are in your cycle!
ladyhelen & Mistle Good Luck with 2WW girlies x
Quarkee Hope you start feeling better soon
Jackstini Good luck with scan on the 9th
Jassara Sorry you had to join us, but so glad you find us so that you can have rant, moan, cry or just generally chat, oh and of course eat loads of chocolate and cakes (virtually) and on that note GG I've just had the strawberry cream mmm, thanks

DiveDaisy Still positive and upbeat I see, well done missus.
Napa Hope your feeling better now, keep an eye on yourself

quarkee · 09/04/2008 20:58

Sorry girls i am being dumb but what does ERPC stand for? Ive figuredout all the other acronyms but this one beats me -I know waht you mean just cant get the words right

napa · 09/04/2008 21:03

ERPC is evacuation of retained products of conception similar to a D&C. I had one last week cos my scan found a missed miscarriage (i should have been 10+5 but fetus measured 9+ with no heartbeat)

bunnyinheadlights · 09/04/2008 21:34

just popping in quickly to say a BIG CONGRATS to jackstini hope to join you on the other thread one day! lots of sticky sticky dust to you!

work trips are so tiring - they can be so fun when not pg or ttc but so hard to do when you are trying to do something for yourself in your own private life. am not drinking right now and am finding hard to explain that even though not ttc - there's only so long one can say one is "detoxing"!

welcome to jass hope we manage to bring a smile back to your face. we are all going through the same thing - it;s nice to know you are not alone.

divedaisy that's great that you have your own business. the freedom to call your own hours is what i am dreaming about. i am happy to work hard, but not at the cost of seeing dd for 10 mins in the morning and 1 hour at night. i can do so much when she naps in the afternoon and when she is in bed. and am happier and more efficient.

mollie fingers crossed for you still - you never know.

hello to everyone else (leaves a big tub of hagen daz cookiers and cream ice cream...)

Jackstini · 09/04/2008 22:01

ooh - yes Quarkee - Detox - that sounds like a good excuse!
Welcome Jassara - sorry you are having to join us but hoping some good luck rubs off on you.
Dive*Daisy at you getting it on 4 days after EPRC - whatever works for you!
GG I'll have a strawberry cream please - oh bugger, it's already gone. Coffee cream then.
Thanks for all my congrats and good luck wishes - it means so much when I haven't told anyone except dh in RL!
I have got to get packing now ready for tomorrow but will leave you all some GU choc puddings to share tonight...

mistlethrush · 09/04/2008 22:59

Sticky toffee pudding anyone? (With custard, Green & Blacks vanilla ice cream or cream of course)

bunnyinheadlights · 09/04/2008 23:12

hello mistle (bunny smiles with traces of sticky toffee pudding on her face) forgot to say good luck with the 2ww - agonising to wait, hope you get what you want at the end

MollieMooma · 10/04/2008 09:34

Well she got me I've decided not to temp or do OPK's this month, I'm feeling really low at the moment, not handling anything at work, getting emotional all far too embarassing Have decided I need a break, well that's what I'm telling myself but we all know it stays in the back of your mind shouting all the time!

Hope everyone else is well

I can bring some homemade chocolate cake with chocolate buttons on the top for today's offering? Really enjoyed the ice cream, cookies, and sticky toffee pudding thanks girls

ClairePO · 10/04/2008 09:38
