Hey ladies I have been brave and started new thread.
Aquababe will not have to look at her thread opener again.

OP posts:
Spink · 31/03/2008 17:48

woohoo Emmsy! SO pleased for you!!!
helloo everyone else, hope you're all ok. we've had a bit of a shit day, 12 week scan would've been today. Also found out that our upstair neighbour had her 20 week scan today, they're having a boy and all the men in the family were getting merry on champagne. happy for them but a bit stomach-sinky all the same.
anyway. dh and I have talked about it, and we've decided to start trying again, bit of a terrifying prospect ( the idea of pregnancy, not bding!) but I will be scared whether it happens in 2 months or 12. So. Bring it on.

Notsonew - welcome. Sorry to hear how it's been for you, how horrible to be hanging on and not knowing all that time.
Hope you have happier news soon

I'll be back later to say hello properly to the rest of you, bathtime coming up now for ds so I'm off for now
xx

PrePG · 31/03/2008 17:50

Congratulations Emmsy - that's wonderful news!

So sorry Notsonew - but you must be glad to have it all behind you. I'm a newbie here too.

I'm trying so hard not to obsess, but it's difficult! First cycle since mc, we're not trying this month, but I'm temping and watching my fertility signs. I'm on CD17 with what seemed like a temp dip this morning (although could just be down to the time change)and spotting today . I wish it was ovulation spotting, but I have no other signs...although I did have one single incident of what seemed like decent CM, but that was it. I hate the waiting!

bunnyinheadlights · 31/03/2008 19:06

congrats emmsy! so happy for you! hope you have a lovely holiday now. what a relief!

welcome to notsonew - my first mc was at 10 weeks and like you, the baby was about 6-7 weeks. it's awful to have to go through this - but hopefully you see that over time, we regain our sense of humour and sanity... didnt seem possible at the time. but do come here and vent and cry and rant - it's very therapeutic - not many RL people will understand as no one talks about mcs in rl!

spink i know that tummy sinky feeling very well! it's so tough isn't it? mixed with guilt for feeling those feelings at someone's good news. it's natural, so dont beat yourself up over it.

prepg good luck with the ttc.

mollie 2ww - keeping toes, eyes, fingers crossed for you.

gg let me know what you think of acupuncture. cant remember if i have said this already but do make sure the acupuncturist is registered with the british acupuncture council. mine is also a chinese herbalist so she can give me vile concoctions to drink. i havent yet started the herbs - when she saw me this past weekend, she got all my temps for the past week as she needs it to mix up the right combi of herbs. about 15-18 herbs she says, but i dont need to know what they are she says. i get the lot next weekend - let the fun begin. she has already warned me that they are vile.

chocolate cheesecake for everyone else! mmm...

quarkee · 31/03/2008 19:49

hello everyone - i recongnise some of you from the v kind comments on an earlier thread i started over Easter when I wasnt sure whether I was having a mc or not. Well, I was and now we are back to square one.

This thread sounds so friendly and I LOVE cake so bring it on! Today was my first day back at work - everyone kept on asking if I was OK (they dont know the full story as I am up for promotion at the mo and dont want to risk it) and I had to say 'oh yes' when i was feeling a bit wierd - lots of expectant mothers lurking to jump out at me...ho hum, we're waiting a month too Prepg (hi) just to be sensible - i HATE being sensible!

cece · 31/03/2008 19:56

hello everyone,

have been lurking here but haven't posted for a while...

emsy lovely news about your scan

hello to all the new people and sorry you have to join us.

spink coming up for dates is horrible isn't it? I was due to start my maternity leave this Thursday, so not really looking forward to work much this week.

ClairePO · 31/03/2008 20:41

Welcome to notsonewanymore and quarkee so very sorry you have both joined us but there is lots of support and cake to be had. Lets hope you don't stay too long, in the nicest possible way.

cece I would be on maternity leave by now too, my due date was 15 April. We've booked to go away for a long weekend so I don't have to be at work.

bunny and all those thinking of/doing accupuncture, good luck! I am needle phobic but have considered reflexology. I just need to find somewhere that does it really.

PrePg have gone into detail in temping thread but I had spotting after m/c in my first cycle. I stopped after I ovulated, hopefully it will stop soon for you.

Spink re it being your scan date today combined with news from your neighbours. Stuff like that is hard to take because you know you should be happy but you can't help but think of yourself.

Hello mistle and everyone else hope you are well!

elibumbum · 31/03/2008 20:44

Emmsy - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! wonderful news. Have a great holiday.

Quarkee and Notsonew - welcome - but sorry you've had to come here.

Spink - I had a week of 3 appts I should've had for nuchal, midwife bloods and consultant and had a cry as each of those dates passed. Crappy isn't it.

Still waiting impatiently for my first post-mc AF. The ERPC was only 4 weeks ago so have a couple of weeks yet before I'll get really annoyed if it doesn't show up.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 31/03/2008 21:04

Just popping on quickly to wave my flag and shake my pom poms for Emmsy. Bloody brilliant news girl .

And to say hi to Quarkee and Notsonew. Really glad you've found us. And so sorry for your loss. Now; kick your shoes off, put your feet up, eat your cake and have a really good rant at how freaking unfair life is. We're here with the tissues.

Hi to everyone else. Sweet dreams. Am off to watch Poppy Shakespeare whilst trying to do Sainsbury's online shop (cue 10 tins of chopped tomatos and 13 mangos as I push wrong buttons ).

quarkee · 31/03/2008 21:19

Am currently scoffing Percy Pigs...here, have the bag...am watching Crimewatch to scare myself (am staying away from ome tonight due to work, hence illicit sweeties) so lovely to find a place to vent - am not really sure how i am feeling these days, i am pretty good at going into denial though and supressing feelings so am expecting that I will feel worse in due course before I get better. Lets hope I dont run out of PP's eh?

scully · 01/04/2008 07:27

Hi, I'm back here again, was here in Jan (after a m/c last Aug), then fell pregnant again in Feb and we found out last week to expect our 2nd m/c anytime as this pregnancy wasn't progressing. I should be 9wks this week. I don't feel too bad, considering, as this has dragged on for 3wks, as to whether it the pregnancy was viable or not, so it was sad but also some relief to have an answer finally, if not the one we wanted.
I'm having more blood taken on Thurs, see the gynae on Fri and will decide then whether to have another erpc or not.
Last year's m/c shook us so much it took 4mths before I was ready to try again, this time though we both think we are ok to try again sooner rather than later. Thought I might also do some acupuncture as well, with someone who is fertility orientated, to help my body sort itself out, it's had an overload of hormones twice in the last 7mths..... Gives me a reason to be a cranky b anyway
ClairePO, where do you live? When I was pregnant with dd2, I found a lovely midwife who also did reflexology for pregnant/wanting to be pregnant ladies. She lived in Knaphill, Woking in Surrey.

scully · 01/04/2008 07:33

Hi Emmsy, thx for the welcome I posted and then decided to read back a few pages where I saw your lovely mentions. I posted on the other thread as well, about your great scan news
Have also just read your post Notsonew, looks like we have a lot in common, I also had 3wks of maybe/maybe not, until enough time had passed to decide that pregnancy wasn't progressing. Any idea when you might try again, or is it too soon to go there yet?

Jackstini · 01/04/2008 08:44

Hi Scully - saw you on Love's thread and remember you from last Aug - I mc at same time. Sorry you are here but glad you can join us. Hope things go smoothly this week - will be thinking about you on Thurs & Fri especially.
Welsom to Quarkee (pass the Percy pigs!) and notsonew too.
We havelots of newcomers - hoping this is the month for some graduates too!

Jackstini · 01/04/2008 08:45

obviously I mean welcome

MollieMooma · 01/04/2008 10:13

Gosh you girls talked lots after I last looked yesterday! So here goes!
NotsoNew Welcome, sorry it dragged on for you over the last few weeks, like mistle said expect to be uber-sensitive the world will be pg now, it's pants!
Spink I know that horrible stomach-sinky feeling, my newphew was born 2 wks ago and it hit me hard. I see you got impatient and have decided to start trying again, your so right we will all be paranoid and terrified the next time regardless of how much time has passed.
Prepg & Elibum Its amazing isn't it we all dread AF arriving each month but for you two you can't wait to see her so you can sort yourselves out! Good luck girls hope she visits very soon
Bunny Thanks for crossing everything for me on my 2WW but if you like I'll let you undo the eyes as they might hurt and you;ll look a bit goofy - but I like the effort x x
Quarkee Welcome, hope work gets a little easier for you and for cece sending you hugs.
Claire Where you going for your weekend away? (Told you I'm a nosy bint!)
Scully Sorry you had to join us hun, recognise you from the TTC thread, You sound amazingly positive though, so keep your chin up and settle down with us for a while x

Today's offering is warm buttered cheese scones and a relaxing manicure.
(I can dream, I'm munching carrots as I type and pretending I can taste the scones, how sad am I?!)

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 11:03

I've got some moist, dark, melting chocolate cake to supplement the cheese scones (you can just tell that I can't eat it in RL can't you!)

MollieMooma · 01/04/2008 11:28

I think my carrots will go with that too!

ClairePO · 01/04/2008 11:30

scully so sorry

Thanks for the tip about reflexology, I'm in Bedfordshire so not that close though.

Mollie we're off to Devon, go the Friday night get back Tuesday 15th.

MollieMooma · 01/04/2008 11:50

Claire Lovely part of the world, we're off to Cornwall at the end of the month, I can't wait! If I forget to say closer to the date, have a fantastic time and I hope it takes your mind off everything and it's not too horrible for you

ClairePO · 01/04/2008 12:13

I've never been to the southwest Mollie, I grew up in the NorthEast so the far South of the country is all new to me LOL. I'm looking forward to it if that doesn't sound a strange thing to say. I would love to go to Cornwall was just a bit concerned at how long the drive would be. Lets all hope for a sunny southwest April for us!

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 12:49

We're doing Devon in July. Been to Devon and Cornwall with ds - not really much difference in journey times once you've got that far down to start with!

We aim to pack car night before, then set off at 5am with ds still in pjs - I drive as dh not good first thing - then have a break at Bristol services at about 9am, then stop at a NT property a bit further down the M5 and have a really good stretch, food, run around etc. Meeting a friend there this year. Then fingers crossed for a bit of a nap (for ds) for the next bit of the journey so that he's not bored for too long.

Have a lovely time

quarkee · 01/04/2008 12:54

we're off to Cornwall in June to St Mawes - lovely. Our traditional stop is Exeter services, not quite as lovely as NT but you cant have everything have a lovely time!!

Jackstini · 01/04/2008 12:58

Claire we are off to Devon in June - looking forward to it
Mollie when is your AF due? - looks like we are on crappy 2ww together (Mine is 7th)
Am loving my warm buttered cheese scones and the dark melting chocolate cake Mistle
Scully interesting about reflexology, might look into that.
Am having mare with my boss today - you know when everything you try to do is 'just not quite right' grr

Jackstini · 01/04/2008 12:59

Quarkee & Mistle - where are you?
We are driving down from Notts so thinking about 5 hours..?

ClairePO · 01/04/2008 13:16

Seems we're all Devon/Cornwall bound!

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 13:33

I'm in Yorkshire, so at least another hour plus on top of you - and, yes, we estimate about 6,6.5 hrs - going to the Salcomb area again as it was lovely last year except for the weather - managed 15mins of shivering on the beach! Also stayed nr Looe in Cornwall - also lovely, didn't take that much longer (and ds slept more in the car when we went there anyway)
