Hey ladies I have been brave and started new thread.
Aquababe will not have to look at her thread opener again.

OP posts:
elibumbum · 26/03/2008 13:56

Hello everyone. Sorry to those who have just joined but welcome.

I have been keeping an eye on the thread over easter but was on my parent's computer and couldn't remember my password so wasn't able to chip in!

My bleeding stopped over Easter (was getting a bit with the bleeding as ERPC was 3 weeks ago!). So now the waiting for a period starts! Ronshar - you hit the nail on the head about the waiting.

bunnyinheadlights · 26/03/2008 16:36

hi ronshar nice to hear from you and that you are getting along with your beanie. wow 13 plus weeks! that's fab. it's rubbish all this waiting isn't it? feel like life is on hold somewhat whilst the waiting happens.

ebb good to hear that you bleeding finally stopped. i bled about 2.5 weeks after erpc and then a week and abit later, af arrived!

just got back from my scan finaly - good news is that they couldnt find anything untowards. ovaries look good etc bad news is that they still cant pin point why i have the pain in the side - they said just wait for it to resolve. af arrived today 2 days early and it hurts like you wouldnt believe - at one point i was on kitchen floor just moaning it was just agony! have managed to gulp down a handful of painkillers and hot water bottle is out. hope this is over quickly. looking forward to my next acupuncture session on the weekend as i am convinced that will resolve things for me.

MollieMooma · 26/03/2008 16:46

Ronshar Lovely to hear from you can't believe how quickly it's gone although I know it doesn;t feel like that for you! You are so right with this waiting game, we just wait for everything and it's pants! Sticky thoughts to you hun x
Bunny Good news on the scan, but bad news about the pain What a nightmare hun, can't believe they can't find out what's causing it, must be worrying. Hope you feel better soon. Wasn't it CeCe who had terrible pains with a few AF's after her m/c, she seems to be better now though so let's hope there's light at the end of the tunnel x

Elibum Nice to see you back, hope all is well with you. Are you going to ttc straight away after AF?

elibumbum · 26/03/2008 17:36

Bunny - glad scan results were good but sorry you are still in pain. Hope my AF arrives in a week and a bit too! Thanks for giving me hope!

What does the acupuncture do? Does it help regulate cycles etc?

Mollie - We will be ttc after the first AF. I'm hoping my (normally)regular 25 day cycle springs into action soon.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 26/03/2008 18:47

Hi. Been dying to get online all day and say hi. Should actually be giving DD2 a bath at the mo, but she's happy as larry watching The Grinch.

Am loving all the suggestions for the celeb shag list. I know who Jon Stewart is as livied in New York for 3 years and watched him regulalrly. And LOVE the Hamster story. That's a proper claim to fame .

Anyway, Bunny am glad that the scan went ok. But it's still a shame they can't say what the pain is your side. Hope painkillers have kicked in now.

Eli - glad bleeding stopped and things getting back to normal for you. Will be pom pom shaking for you this month.

Ronshar - lovely to hear from you. So glad things are going good. Keep those legs crossed lady!

PrePg - glad you didn't have to go thru the D&C.

And for all of us trying to loose weight....low carb, low fat, low sugar, wheat free, dairy free choc brownie anyone? No? Didn't think so they taste pants . Have actually starting snacking on dried fruit cos it's sweet but not full of sugar. Not same as bar of Green and Blacks. Sigh. It's just so diff to shift the muffin top. Loads of sit ups and a fine pair of Spanx pants me thinks .

Right, better get DD2 in the bath. DD1 is at her dad's tonight (my ex-h) so just the one to put to bed.And DH off drinking beer with his bezzer mate. So it's just me, stir fried tofu and veg, the ironing and the new series of The Apprentice. Cor, don't I just have the most exciting life..... xx

Emmsy1 · 26/03/2008 20:59

spink glad things went ok, and weren't as bad as you thought they would be. My scan is on Monday at 1.30 so will definately let you know how it goes, even if its not good news! DH was a total pig, really hate arguing over money, I have always been really open with him, have decided to take a leaf out of his book and start to think more about looking after myself (and the children of course) n ot going to waste as much money on him as I have been doing
ronshar glad you popped in, hope your scan is ok hun, what date is it??
HTGG I love it when my DH is out of the house!just have a nice relaxing night and make the most of the precious time (partly) alone.(I think he will always be in the doghouse, he has a good knack of going there) would be truly amazing if he ever apologised, but since he cant see what he did wrong, there's no chance of that, just making a big effort to be more like him,if you can't beat them join them!

BIHL really sorry to hear that your going through such alot of pain, is there any chance of getting your acupuncture session brought forward??

molliem thanks for all the goodies you keep dishing out, I am going to be the fattest 5'3'' I know!

right tasty celebs?? The bloke who won an oscar for his roll in The Bourne Identity, can't think of his name, but who cares about that, what a body

jackstini only 5 sleeps to go!

daisyj · 27/03/2008 10:22

elibum, acupuncture has been brilliant for me, and can help with everything from regulating your cycle to extending LP. Also, helps relax mind and body, and can help with anxiety and all sorts. I'm incredibly lucky to have a brother who is a qualified acupuncturist and masseur. He gave me a treatment on Saturday, five days after my big bleed, and I'll spare you the details but I'm pretty sure the result of that is the reason why I didn't have to have a D&C in the end.

Also, on the subject of waiting, I'm sooo impatient, and I desperately want to start ttc asap, but I also want to do what's best to have the best result, a healthy pregnancy, obviously. I'm thinking of going to a naturopath. A pg friend of mine has recommended it - has anyone else had any experience of naturopathy?

After a miserable afternoon yesterday, I'm now off to my favourite vintage shop for a treat. I'm back to work tomorrow, and I'm sure being armed with a fabulous dress will help . Hope you all have a good day, ladies.

MollieMooma · 27/03/2008 10:30

Emmsy You go girl, give as good as you get with your DH, let's just hope he notices though hey? Please do keep us updated after your scan, we like good news stories!

GG Not to sure about those brownies hun, let's have some full fat, full flavour, full calorie sticky brownies instead, if we can't have it in RL let's have it on MN instead!
Had the urge for chocolate last night but resisted and had grapes instead, feel very saintly today now!

So today's offer is the sticky brownies, a massage, relaxing music and some lovely big floor cushions, anyone up for it? And of course we can spend all the time thinking about our fantasy shags!

mistlethrush · 27/03/2008 16:05

MollieM I'm up for some chocolate, particularly as I can't have it in RL! Can I have some really dark chocolate please, and perhaps an espresso to go with it? I love your big cushions, very luxurious!

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 27/03/2008 17:42

Count me in on the brownies and cushions. Sounds like heaven.

Emmsy - second everyone elses opinion, give as good as you get girl. Ex-h was a real tight arse (even though he earnt a lot) and it ws always a bone of contention. DH works as a trader in the city so he brings home a good wage but he's terrible at p%ssing it up the wall on me and girls! Am not complaining but we're just about to start a HUGE build on our house and we have to save every spare penny. Am cr$pping my pants at how much it's going to cost.

Hey, who's a working girl and who's a SAHM? Just wondering. Am a SAHM and can't wait for this building work to start as am project managing it and need something to get my teeth into outside of the home.

Daisyj - was wondering about going to see a naturpath to try and strengthen womb etc before TTC again. Let me know how you go.

Would love to be TTC sooner rather than later. But promised DH that we'd wait til July. Sigh. Think it's best as god forbid it happens again I need to be mentally strong to cope.

Anyhoo. Hand the brownies over girls have got serious sugar crash!!!!!! xxxx

cece · 27/03/2008 19:39

bunny just read about your pains. That sounds just like I had. So totally sympathise. This last af (third after mc) was much better. Not sure if it was the acupuncture that sorted it but it was much better afterwards. I have been for a scan prior to my gynae appt next week - referred due to the af pains - so will let you know whatt the doc says.

bunnyinheadlights · 27/03/2008 19:52

what have i been missing out on here - brownies, massages and cushions! bring them on! i so want to just bake an enormous chocolate something and eat it in one sitting with a big glass of milk. so there.

gg am a working gal here. and have been saying for the past year that women cant have it all because it is causing some serious burn out on my front - am soo tired all the time and wonder whether to pack it all in. on the plus side, have been promoted twice since returning from maternity leave with dd 2 years ago, but i do get the snide remarks of "Bunny never stays beyond 5pm". even tho i slog like crazy and often work harder (and better) than the sh*te boys working in the same department. grrr. sorry not sure what brought on that rant.... project managing a house build sounds like a challenge though!

ebb not sure what the effects of acupuncture are fully yet. but so far think it made my body go into a full cleanse and purge mode. i really want to strengthen my uterus etc before ttc again, as gg says. (i've had 2 mcs in 3 mths) i am going to wait until after may to give it a good 3 mths to kick in. will start a course of herbs next week to regulate my hormones as well as acupuncturist says my hormones are very unbalanced (she could tell by looking at my temp chart!).

emmsy good luck with the scan. bring us your good news in due course !

daisyj let me know whether naturopath helps. am willing to explore anything!

in the meantime, to all those ttc now (yes mollie) am rooting for you and sending lots of positive ttc baby dust over.

mistlethrush · 27/03/2008 19:54

HTGG - project managing a major build on the house doesn't sound like 'something outside the home' - sounds a bit too close to home to me. What are you having done? When does it start? We'd like to look at a project on our house, but still clawing our way back into solvency following my mat leave for ds (nearly 3!)

I work 4 dpw (ds in nursery 3.5days, and cram the rest of the hours in) - also do Pampered Chef as a little extra earner to do some evenings and to get me out of the house and out of the bathtime routine sometimes.

bunnyinheadlights · 27/03/2008 19:56

cece just crossed posts. yeah it was pretty scary felt like contractions during a period. certainly wasn't like that with my last af. but as we know, 2 weeks ago i passed what i think was sac & baby, so maybe that's why? no one i;ve seen has yet to explain what happened... just want to be healthy and well again. let me know how your scan goes. and glad to know that your af is getting more normal. x

mistlethrush · 27/03/2008 20:09

bunny sounds horrendous - glad things are better now, and hope that next af a lot more normal.

After my 1st mc I kept on going back to the Drs as hadn't settled down and kept on bleeding and felt pregnant still. Took 3 months and 3 visits to the Dr before they actually took it seriously and examined me - happened at same time as bleed - which meant that they managed to get me a scan at least... Its ridiculous that you cannot necessarily rely on health workers to listen and act on what you're telling them...

Emmsy1 · 27/03/2008 20:54

girls taking the children off to a haven site for a week, on monday so will post about my scan just before I go, if its bad news just have to cope with it whilst on holiday. If everything is ok, then I will order a double lemonade with ice & lemon{and pretend its a G&T) DH isn't too happy about it, but who cares, Im paying for it,and I would like the children to have some fun before going back to school.
HTGG I am a civil servant, but currently on an authorised career break, due back at work June 2009! I am going to experience the same kind of crap as BIHL with the jealousy and backstabbing off the men, and the women with grown up, or no children. I have seen it happen so many times to others, makes me feel quite sick just thinking about going back, still, what must be,must be!

mistlethrush · 27/03/2008 21:41

Emmsy fingers crossed for you for Monday.

MollieMooma · 27/03/2008 21:50

Emmsy Snap I'm a civil servant too! Have a lovely holiday, will keep everything crossed for the scan

Definately a working girl as unfortunately no lo's yet so no excuse to be part time, still hoping that will change soon!

Daisy Hope you got yourself a lovely dress, I'm sure you deserve the treat x

GG Project managing a build, isn't that a guarantee of getting pregnant? When I watch these house programmes like Grand Designs, Build a new life in the country, they always overspend, have a financial crisis, never finish on time and get pregnant half way through! So your secret is out!

Hi to everyone else, so loving these little polls we're doing at the moment, sure pass some time in our long wait!

daisyj · 28/03/2008 08:10

No dress but saw lovely pink sofa for new flat. Except might have to spend all money on sorting damp and wiring - whyohwhy do we go for these ridiculous cold Victorian flats - but they do look so lovely!

emmsy - fingers crossed for the scan - and have a great holiday.

How cr$ppy people can be - all the idiots who complain about parents leaving on time probably spend half their day surfing the net and gossipping, rather than getting stuff done efficiently in the allotted time. Cretins. xx

MollieMooma · 28/03/2008 10:21

Morning all, today's offer is a selection of fatboy beanbags (I so want one!) a plate of cheese scones, or chocolate muffins and a big pot of yorkshire tea?
Hope your all well and looking forward to the weekend, why is it shorter weeks due to bank holidays always feel so much longer!
Daisy I say go for the sofa, at least you can sit in style whilst looking at the dodgy wiring and damp

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 28/03/2008 10:22

Morning.

I used to work in PR for my sins. But its a young girls game and I just couldn't put the hours in and feel as if I was giving enough to the girls. It's such a lottery isn't it. Absolutely admire those of you that go to work. Beleive me, some days the thought of being in an office is so delicious that I can almost smell the photocopier machine blowing up.

And yep, the build is going to be huge. We're excavating a basement and building a two storey extension onto the back of the house. We live in Wimbledon Village which is great location and the house that we have is a small 3 bed/1 Bath 'cottage'. The extension will change it into a 4 bed/basment+shower room/2 bath/utitily+cloakroom/huge family room/double the size of the kitchen. We've been plauged by fricking awful neighbours who's main aim in life was to block our plans with the council. So it's taken 14 months to get plans approved . But the build starts on 7th April so big fat raspberry's to both of the old cows....

emmsy - fingers crossed for scan. And have a lovely time with DC's on hols. Lots of sandwhiches and fizzy pop on freezing cold beaches .

mollie - damn, you've guessed my secret!

daisyj - hmmmm, new dress or damp proofing and wiring?!?!?!?

bunny - grrr to the silly sods in your office. Would love to see a bloke trying to juggle, home, career, kids and wife. Know what you mean about feeling tired all the time though. But must admit to having a doze at lunchtime this week when DD2 gone down for her nap. Also, what herbs are you taking?

eli - hi hon.

So general consensus is that accupuncture is good? Anyone doing reflexology?

PrePG · 28/03/2008 10:34

GeorgieGirl - wow 14 months!!! We're doing a fairly small extension (into the side return and out the back a smidge) that wouldn't even need planning permission if we weren't a flat and it's taken us 10 months. I thought THAT was a long time! Good luck with it - Wimbledon is great and I think it's a good move to hold on to what you have. We're in Herne Hill (between Brixton and Dulwich) and we always thought we'd buy a flat, right the wrongs, sell it and have enough for a little house. But we've been totally priced out of the area in the two years we've been there. It's hugely depressing!

and Mollie laughing out loud about the GRand Designs pregnancies! So true!

elibumbum · 28/03/2008 12:52

Hi there everyone.

Bunny and Daisy - thanks for the info on acupuncture. Will find a practitioner and give it a go.

I'm thinking of trying hypnotherapy too. I know a good one (did my hypnobirthing course with her a couple of years ago) and think she will help me relax and not be so anxious about ttc and the next pregnancy.

GeorgieGirl - We are planning to put in new kitchen and bathrooms in our house and I'm not looking forward to the disruption that will cause so I think you are very brave! The chaos and dust is worth it in the end though. I wanted to go and stay with my parents for the week when the kitchen is done but will unfortunately have to stay here and direct the proceedings!

I'm a SAHM too. Don't really miss the office or wearing suits and I certainly don't miss my commute! I love spending time with DS - the last 2 years have gone so quickly and I know the next couple will go fast too then he will be at school.

bunnyinheadlights · 28/03/2008 13:29

afternoon ladies. have had the week off this week (not sure if you've noticed as i've been around more in the day time - i don't surf MN at work as they can see what i look at if they choose to, that is, and i am way too paranoid) at the boys at work - no one blinks an eye when some of them leave at 5pm to go to their rugby or footie games - in fact the next day the whole office is abuzz with rugby and footie stories. makes me sick [vomit emoticon]

if/when i ever have dc2 (please let it be!) i will certainly cut down to 3 days a week, if not pack it in altogether.

gg sounds like you had a rather glam past life - a stint in NY and a PR lady. how fun! good luck on your build - mollie is so right. sarah beeny is Always preggers on these shows and she's not even the one doing the build. does that mean we all get to benefit and have bumps at some point during the build too?

i don't know what herbs i will be taking yet - will see acupuncturist tomorrow who will prescribe them - but i think it will be a combination of unpronounceable chinese herbs mixed into a tea.

ebb i think it is worth giving acupuncture a try. it won't harm and even if it does nothing more than give you some relaxation and stress relief then it is a good thing. it's not cheap, but i truly believe it does more than relaxation i think it rebalances and strengthens the uterus. but that's just from surfing the web and reading up on acupuncture and infertility (they call mcs infertility coz it's the body's inability to keep a pg). anyway good luck - just make sure that the acupuncturist is registered with the british acupuncture council.
