Hey ladies I have been brave and started new thread.
Aquababe will not have to look at her thread opener again.

OP posts:
elibumbum · 18/03/2008 15:55

Spink - I've been uncertain as to whether to start TTC before my first post ERPC AF or after. Read Prof. Regan's book today and decided to wait for the first AF (not that her book says you have to wait).

ERPC was only 2 weeks ago so early days yet. But definitely plan to start after the first AF. I don't know how you would know you are 100% emotionally ready. I think I will be scared and anxious during the next pregnancy whether I conceive next month or next year.

PrePG · 18/03/2008 17:59

Hi - hope to be joining you shortly, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

Have a D&C scheduled for Thursday and DH and I have agreed we want to try as soon as we can. I suspect I'm like a lot of you here - don't really want to wait until after first AF to start TTC again, but on the other hand don't want to take any unnecessary risks. Would hate for this to happen again.

Look forward to chatting with you all.

ClairePO · 18/03/2008 19:43

So sorry PrePG. How many weeks were you?

elibumbum · 18/03/2008 21:01

Prepg - sorry for your loss. I recognise your name from the Sept 08 threads. My edd was at the end of Sept so I lurked there for a few weeks before my mmc.

splishsplosh · 18/03/2008 21:20

Sorry to barge in, I found this thread so invaluable when I had my mc last September, and I often lurk. I recently received a letter re a place on an NCT course for this month after I'd booked last August - I hadn't heard anything from them, so hadn't thought anything more. It was quite a shock receiving it, and brought home that my baby would have been due in a few weeks. I'm 12 weeks pg now, and that has made it easier to bear, but I'm still very sad sometimes.

I saw Prepg, from Sept 08 thread, and wanted to say how sorry I am to find you here, but it is a great thread and I'm sure you'll get lots of support from the lovely ladies here

mistlethrush · 19/03/2008 09:48

Hi SS - glad to hear your news - hope all continues well. I know what you mean about letters and dates etc - when I had 1st mc I then had to spend some time ringing round cancelling appointments. Great to get asked by the receptionists 'why are you cancelling' - really made my day.

PrePG · 19/03/2008 11:52

Hi Claire, elibum and splishsplosh. Thank you for your thoughts. I was 11 weeks, due end of Sept/early Oct, but the embryo measured just 7 weeks. Had had a scan that showed a heartbeat at 6+3, so was really devastated to find it died just a little after.

Splishsplosh congratulations on your pregnancy. It's wonderful news and gives me lots of hope.

I had an assessment with the EPU this morning and a scan showed that the sac has been expelled (which, of course I knew after a horrible night last night ). There's still some tissue present but not much, so they've advised me to let it progress naturally and they've cancelled my D&C. Good news is that there's nothing in there that might make future conceptions difficult, all is normal, and we've been given the green light to try again once I'm satisfied that I've had a normal period.

Thank you everyone and baby dust to you all.

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/03/2008 12:43

Afternoon all. My offering for today is rather delicious smoked salmon and rocket sandwhich on granary, big glass of apple juice and a Cadbury's Creme egg!!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts on Mon. Seems as if my body can at least do one thing right....it expelled everything cleanly so no ERPC thank god. If I never go back to St George's again for the rest of my natural born days it won't be long enough.

PrePG - Hello and welcome. But sorry you had to join us. Can totally empathise with what you're going through. Hope TTC is fruitful for you. And hell, we all need a bit of closeness at times like this. Am waiting for the bleeding to stop then DH and I are going to crack open bottle of Tattinger, get sloshed and get back in the saddle . With 3 condoms on just for safe measure.

Emmsy - if it is constipation that's making your side hurt can't you take a quick swig of Lactulose? Am sure it's safe during pg. really hope that everything OK for you. Am counting down the days with you.

Bunny, Claire, Mollie, Eli, Spink, Jacks, Cece - hi there ladies. How you feeling? TTC again is just a lottery isn't it. DH has made me promise not to even think about starting TTC again until July. Have agreed as really don't think my head is in the right place at the mo. But, that does mean that will be oficial flag waver, pom pom shaker and whistle blower WHEN you guys get up the duff .

Anyway, better crack on. xx

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/03/2008 12:47

Drat. Forgot to say hooray to Spilsh Splosh. Fab news girl. xx

Mistle - your DS sounds wonderful. Can I swap him for DD2 who's going through Terrible Two's at the mo....?!?!

goingfor3 · 19/03/2008 12:53

Cece, I'm so happy that things are looking up for you and you are able to start trying again. Though it didn't feel like it at the time I'm sure the break has been good, it only really struck me last week when I was really exhausted that I too should have had a break. I have been pregnant for 46 out of the last 53 weeks and it really has started to take its toll. Good luck to you and all of you lovely ladies on here too.

mistlethrush · 19/03/2008 13:00

HTGG - have just put a couple of pictures on.

He's being having the terrible twos since he was about 18mo. Yesterday it took two of us to strap him into the car - went all the way to nursery (about 6mins) with him kicking my seat and hitting it and screaming. Got his door opened and he immediately appologised and burst into wailing instead!

At least its a bit easier to try to reason with him now, as long as you can get a quiet enough moment to make yourself heard.

MollieMooma · 19/03/2008 16:18

Prepg So sorry you've had to join us, make yourself comfy and feel free to moan, rant or cry, we all have at some point on here and it's such a good release!
GG So loving the food offerings on here lately, definately in for the sarnie etc! Glad all went well at the scan, it will be interesting to see if you do wait til July before ttc but glad to hear you'll be shaking your pom poms for us!
SplishSplosh Here's for a sticky bean for you this time!
Mistle How cute? Your lo looks adorable (but then photo's don't show tantrums!) Bless him x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 19/03/2008 17:43

Mistle - remember DD1 (now 6) having a SCREAMING tantrum in back of car and actually having to pull over, get out of the car and let her get on with it whilst other motorists drove by with 'what the hell is she up to' looks on her face as this screaming banshee went nuts in a small Peugeot 206

bunnyinheadlights · 19/03/2008 21:26

i want all the choc and treats that have been floating around waahhh! acupuncturist has put me on the most restrictive diet - besides the obvious no alcohol, no caffeine thing, i cant have dairy, red meat, raw foods, fermented foods, cold foods. the list is quite long. i was starting to stress about it, but now have made decision not to eat any dairy (and yes that means no choc!) no caffeine and alcohol (tho am soooo tempted to break that one - what's the point of not being pg if you can't drink am i making sense?) and cut down on red meat. anyway i am not sure how long i will last but i want to do all that i can to cleanse cleanse cleanse. she;s going to start me on herbs at the end of the month as she says that i have a hormone imbalance - she's been making me chart my temp every morning. apparently too high in androgens (which also explains why my face has broken out in the last 6 mths since this whole pg/mc cycle started).

anyway sorry for the rant. mollie not sure if it works so far, acupuncture does make me feel emotionally and mentally better, which is a step in the right direction. i feel more in control than i ever had since i found out about the mc.

cece you're right- when i look back i was just sooo tired and yet forcing ttc coz i was so wanting to be pg again to make up for the empty and lost feeling. i am feeling better mentally so hopefully come june or july i will start to think about ttc.

welcome to prepg sorry you are here. it's awful to have to go through an mc at whatever stage. sending you hugs.

hee hee mistle and gg re tantrums and 2 year olds. my dd is 2.5 years and she can really throw a wicked supermarket tantrum. thank goodness for online shopping!

ebb when to ttc is such a personal thing. lots of ladies on mn dont wait and are now getting along fine with their pgs. others waited a bit and still had mc (like me!). there's no hard and fast rule. for now i have decided to wait to regain my strength and sanity!

everyone else am keeping you in my thoughts and once again thanks for being such lovely ladies...(hauls in big stash of green & blacks choccies - please help yourselves!).

ClairePO · 19/03/2008 22:02

OMG bunny what can you eat? No cold food?? Glad you feel is helping though!

Jackstini · 19/03/2008 23:24

omg - this thread moves fast! What a lovely lot of fod you lot are tempting me with
See Bunny if you cant have it in RL you can indulge here. Know exactly what you mean about point of staying of alcohol when not pg! First thing I do when AF arrives is have a glass of wine with her...
GG - sounds like the right thing to do for you to wait a little while - but very grateful your pom poms are at the ready for whoever is next to catch x
Splish Splosh - good to hear everything is going well. I had crappy mail too - 2 weeks after mmc had letter reminding me about the importance of saving blood from the umbilical cord for stem cells..
PrePG - welcome, sorry you are here but it is a good place to be in our situation. Glad you won"t have to go through the D&C, hope you are feeling a bit better.
Spink - well done for holding the baby - one hurdle oversome...
Mollie - hope work is panning out ok this week. Glad you got to touch William, sure you will be able to hold him soon
Mistle - your post made me fill up, ds is gorgeous and sure he will make a fab big brother soon
Emmsy - 12 sleeps to go (or 11 as hopefully you were in bed when I typed this!) we are all counting down with you
Hope everyone else is doing ok - means a lot to know we are all in each others' minds doesn't it

TJuice · 20/03/2008 01:31

bunny - i was on that diet for a while. i ate a lot of risotto actually, because my acupuncturist encouraged rice, cooked veg and allowed goat cheese. so i did asparagus risotto or mushroom and spinach with a little hard goat cheese grated on top. also, pilau and soups. i lost quite a bit of weight (even though it was pretty carby) and got pg pretty quickly. its hard giving up salad though . . . .

mistlethrush · 20/03/2008 09:24

My accupuncturist has given me some chinese 'slimming tea' - even she doesn't know what's in it as its a state secret apparently! This is because I want to lose some weight but its really heavy going and have to be on a ridiculously small amount of 'proper' food (have done weight watchers and even the leader I was with was surprised - can quite happily put weight on if I do the diet according to the books!) So I'm on a mission to get a bit slimmer and see if that helps. The thing is, that, as its so hard to lose the weight, I really have to be in the right frame of mind - and at the moment I am in more of the frame of mind to put weight on rather than take it off iykwim.

Ds had major tantrum this morning. But appologised when we got to nursery so that we're friends again which is good!

Spink · 20/03/2008 11:01

morning, lovelies.
I think I'll go with both the fanstay food on here and the good stuff in RL too, I just can't stop myself. I have much respect for you, mistlethrush, Tjuice, bunny and anyone else doing it! well done & I hope it makes the difference.

We had our re-scan today at EPU, and thankfully my body has done what it needs to and there is no need for any interventions. We are burying the little one this weekend in fil's beautiful garden, so it feels like the mc is finally ending and we can say goodbye..
I think I want to wait a little til we ttc, mainly because I want time off thinking about being pg, and getting pg.
I'll hang around here though, if that is ok. Cos you lot are alright

mistlethrush · 20/03/2008 11:28

{{{Spink}}}

fruit.thompson-morgan.com/product/dww3624/1 - says its a small tree in description.

Don't go - 2008 could still be your year, plenty of time yet.

Glad you're not going to have to go through anything else. My thoughts will be with you over the weekend.

ClairePO · 20/03/2008 11:30

Massive hugs for you Spink.

MollieMooma · 20/03/2008 11:58

Spink Glad all is well after the scan, really pleased your gonna stick around with us lot for a while too, the more the merrier! Good luck with your goodbyes at the weekend, hope it gives you some closure chick x

Bunny OMG what a diet!!! I so need to lose weight but like mistle says my frame of mind is to put it on at the moment, I keep treating myself when I feel down, such a bad thing! I must get my head back into it after Easter or I will be huge! I'd look like a beached whale if I got pg now!

to all the rest of you, hope your well and planning a lovely easter break?

mistlethrush · 20/03/2008 12:01

mollie, I've decided that, if I do get pregant in the near future, I'll not eat every 10 mins for the first 14 weeks. Last time I had rotten ms and things like oatcakes were only solution - but if I don't eat them, might even be able to lose a bit of weight during this time instead. And if potential 2nd dc didn't end up quite as huge as ds (10.5 at 39wks), wouldn't complain!

MollieMooma · 20/03/2008 12:08

Mistle Ouch 10.5

bunnyinheadlights · 20/03/2008 13:50

i know! it's soooo hard to eat anything on this diet, but acupuncturist did say that most who stuck with it (without limiting calories ie ate lots) still lost weight. i am a bit dubious as i am indeed eating a lot of rice related stuff and soups too! Tjuice glad to hear that it worked for you! I will stick with it now. and i must say my energy levels are rising every day! i did tell dh that i wanted to go on a food "bender" this weekend and eat chocs, cheese, drink and have lots of steak and lamb but after some talking to decided that it would have wasted the past weeks' dieting. i will need all the help i can get to not eat dd's chocs this weekend during the easter egg hunt we are doing!

spink please stay am also not ttc at the mo, but do like chatting here - it's so nice and relaxing and everyone is so understanding.

well i wish everyone a very lovely easter! we are off to the in laws for the long weekend (yep joining the 10 million others on the road) and will not have access to mn there for those who Are eatng chocs - please have an extra one for me! (munches on some choc bunny ears)
