Quick update

Belgian Bun was OK but a little dry so also had some strawberry jam on toast. Now feel sick

Emmsy1 · 15/02/2008 19:29

cece sorry you have been having some pain, I really hope that everything is sorted for you soon xx
molliemooma I think that its quiet because the children are off school for half term? could be wrong though!

MollieMooma · 15/02/2008 19:45

CeCe - LMAO!

MollieMooma · 15/02/2008 19:57

Emmsy - of course never thought of that having no kiddy winks yet! Typically selfish childless person!

Emmsy1 · 15/02/2008 20:17

mollie have just posted to you in the waiting room! x

mistlethrush · 15/02/2008 21:55

MM are those Brownies still available? Its good having chocolate on mn as can't have it in rl!

hackneybird · 16/02/2008 02:15

Hello ladies
TBH I don't know whether the acupuncture worked. I had my mc in 10th Jan approx so my AF could have been due to return anyway. BUT I did start cramping after my first session, when had had no sign of AF previously, and then after my second it started with a vengeance. So I feel that it def helped.

I will continue my treatment as I heard that it helps strengthen the uterus as bunny says, and can reduce risk of a future mc.

I found my guy through searching for past threads here on MN and google, and then ringing around the recommendations to find best price.

It can also help with MS etc. during actual pregnancy (but I don't want to think this far ahead yet).

Have a lovely weekend all. xxxx

Emmsy1 · 16/02/2008 05:46

just popping in to wish everyone a lovely weekend x

cece · 16/02/2008 08:52

Yes have a lovely weekend everyone - it is half term here so we are off for a long weekend. Back on Tuesday!

Not had a good night. Terrible pains on and off all nignt but hopefully over the worst of it now. But at least AF is here, would be worse if it weren't.

hackneybird - I may look into acupuncture as this is second month of these pains - hoping the doc has the answer when I see her next week.

kate2179 · 16/02/2008 10:41

Post from Knicker Checkers thread...

Oh god oh god oh god

Brown wipes this morning. Absolutely terrified, esp after what my gp said about mc being most likely between 8 & 9 weeks. Am 8+2 today... Have called the epu and left a message and have left messages for a friend who's a nurse to see if there are any strings she can pull for a scan today... I know it may be nothing, but it may be everything... Am working away next week, meant to be staying in a hotel...what a mess.

I know there are plently of ladies on here who've had lots of bleeding and all has been well. Not really making me feel any better at the moment though...

Cece so sorry to hear the pains are continuing... What day is your appointment? xx

Emmsy1 · 16/02/2008 11:00

kate thinking of you, hope all is well xx

BabyFever · 16/02/2008 11:02

Fingers crossed for you Kate that everything will be fine x I know just how awful that feeling is when you seen brown, but there are so many people on here who haven't miscarried after bleeding.

I've been having acupuncture since my m/c - and my acupunturist says that if I get preg again and have any bleeing, I have to get my feet up and lie down and do nothing at all! it increases the oxygen and blood supply to the utereus apparently.

mistlethrush · 17/02/2008 21:35

I found accupuncturist by going onto the chinese medecine practitioners info - given I was aiming for herbalist to cleanse (mainly to get rid of chemo remains), they have a register and I found my accupuncturist through that - I didn't want to try one of the highstreet people and find out to my detriment that they really didn't know what they were doing.

MollieMooma · 18/02/2008 08:51

Kate - how are you today? Any more bleeding? Keeping everything crossed for you and sending positive thoughts to you and the bean.
CeCe- how was your weekend, still in pain?
Hope everyone else had a good weekend too

scully · 18/02/2008 11:30

Congrats Emmsy!
Any news Kate?
AF due for me next week, would also have been my due date next week, had I not m/c last Aug, so a bfp would be wondeful timing, but not getting my hopes up. Just going to try not think it about too much during the next week

MollieMooma · 18/02/2008 12:12

Scully - crossing everything, positive thoughts and baby dust to you hun, it would be fantastic timing and take your mind off the date. I can't imagine it's going to be easy for you but hopefully some good news would help.

kate2179 · 18/02/2008 19:56

guess who's been for a scan?
Me!
Everything absolutely fine thank goodness. Strong heartbeat and measuring right for dates!! Such a relief. Feeling ok, but can't help but wonder what's going to be thrown at us next, hopefully nothing! Am tempted to see if they'll scan me in a couple of weeks, more or less half way between now and my 12 week scan but will just have to see how I go. Please please no more bleeding. Sonographer couldn't see where it had come from. It peetered out yesterday, was quite a lot on saturday evening but that may have been pooling (TMI ) as I didn't really get out of bed until the evening ( again!) Thank you all for your support.

Scully will be thinking of you next week, due dates are really hard. I said to my DH that I wanted to do something small to mark ours and he looked at me like I was a crazy person... Just feel we need to take a few moments to acknowledge what might have been if that makes sense. (((hugs))) to you xx

scully · 19/02/2008 03:30

Aabsolutely, I agree Kate. I have found it quite difficult since Xmas to see a heavily pregnant person, knowing I would have been that size by now. Gosh, this upsetting just typing this, will pop back on later.
Great news your scan was good news though, hopefully no more hiccups

MollieMooma · 19/02/2008 08:53

Kate - so so pleased all is going well for you bet your so chuffed!
Scully - what about planting something? Tree, flower, bush?

cricri · 19/02/2008 11:42

Hi ladies,
I was away for the weekend so I've had a bit of catching up to do!
Kate Great news about your scan, hopefully your little bean won't worry you again now and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
Scully It must be really hard for you at the moment coming up to your EDD. As Mollie says, planting a tree or a bush is a nice idea. I've thought about doing the same next month when my EDD comes around.
Mollie and Cece good to see you both on the list in the Baby waiting room.
As far as acupuncture is concerned, I started having some just after Christmas and my last cycle was a couple of days shorter than the previous ones, which was a relief as they seemed to be increasing in length post-mc. I went every week last cycle then this cycle I went on CD 7 and again last week, before ov time (CD 21/22 for me). I'm going again this week and we'll see what happens in a couple of weeks' time. I was told acupuncture has a cumulative effect so you need to go more frequently at the beginning. If nothing else I find it extremely relaxing despite feeling like a human pin cushion at times!
The British Medical Acupuncture Society has a search facility on its site for finding a therapist near you. Mine isn't specialised in fertility as such but she has over 20 years' experience.
Hello to everybody else.

cricri · 19/02/2008 11:58

Acupuncture is obviously a hot topic at the moment! this article was posted in the waiting room and also has details on how to find a therapist. It's very interesting!

BabyFever · 19/02/2008 19:36

Fantastic news Kate

Acupuncture has been good for me so far - loads more energy and she says that my blood and chi is improving every week which is all good news for sustaining a pregnancy.

Wish I'd had it before starting ttc.

bunnyinheadlights · 19/02/2008 22:08

kate wonderful news! what a relief to see a little bean that's right size. hopefully no further scares from now on!

everyone else- thanks for your posts on accupuncture - so very helpful. i was really convinced, then saw miscarriage specialist last week and he said "i wouldn't try it unless i was really really convinced" and that made me waver. but i think i am going to try it anyway, even if it helps improve my feelings of relaxation that will a step in the right direction. it is good to hear that so many of you have tried it and have had good experiences!

in much better spirits, though have been feeling soooo tired. i think the leftover hormones have been affecting me somehow. now just waiting for AF which should be next week if my body just reverts back to the 28 day cycle.

cece · 19/02/2008 22:14

Hi everyone,

I am back
Had a nice weekend overall but seem to have had the same symptoms this month as last month. My appointment is next Tuesday so I have a lot of questions for doc. I am worried I have delveloped endometrosis... (I know, not a good idea to google symptoms!)

Good to see everyone here seems to be well though.Great news for kate too.

mistlethrush · 20/02/2008 08:38

It's so easy to start reading things and wonder whether you've got that - and to read things into everything in the same way - mind you, the medical profession can be just as bad - some blood tests that I had done before I got to the top of the NHS IVF list the first time had a certain level that was 'a bit high' so the senior registrar suggested that I was likely to have an early onset of the menopause - 3 mc and 1ds and 9yrs down the line, no signs as yet!
