Clomid TTC

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone who is currently TTC with Clomid fancied joining a TTC thread? I've had a look and can't see a recent one.

My husband and I have been trying for approx 2 years. I have PCOS and also had a congenital uterine defect (complete septum) which was operated on and fixed in November 2021.

We paid for a private appointment with a gynaecologist yesterday who prescribed 6 months of Clomid. I'm starting off cycle 1 with 50mg and will have a transvaginal ultrasound around CD 10-14.

My period is due in about 3 weeks but ofc with PCOS this is approximate and it might be early/late. My consultant also prescribed norithesterone to bring on a period if it's delayed. I'm tempted to start it soon so I can get cracking with Clomid - patience isn't my strong point!

Would be great to hear from anyone else in a similar position and hopefully share our BFPs in the coming months. TTC can be a lonely time and I've decided to not tell my family/friends about Clomid as it upsets me too much when I have to tell them I'm still not pregnant.

@Jadeybabes86 i know how you feel because I felt so frustrated when it was happening to me. I think because I ovulate on my own so I felt like if I hadn’t taken it then I would have ovulated. I was also worried they wouldn’t increase my dose and I didn’t want to be in this situation again. Also worried about why I didn’t respond to the 2.5mg because I have it in my head that I have poor egg quality and that’s why I can’t get pregnant and now why the letrozole didn’t work.

I had no symptoms of mine coming until the evening before x

@Hoping43 so frustrating ☹️ and concerning we all have different issues but are basically being treated the same, doesn’t fill you with confidence does it!

@Jadeybabes86 no but i think you have a better chance if it’s been given for anovulation. I don’t think the evidence is great in my situation x

@Hoping43 dont lose hope though the more you get in your system hopefully the better quality follicles/eggs you’ll produce

it fascinates me how people like my sister get pregnant whilst having a coil in and I can’t even fall pregnant with help 😩

@Jadeybabes86 i know. I’ve got two and started TTC again when my youngest was 18 months and now I’m apparently infertile. How does that happen xx

@Hoping43 I’ve got one and he was literally a fluke because I had dropped a lot of weight and was exercising like crazy this was 11 years ago prior and post that never had any luck and not been on any contraception, crazy isn’t it! I have PCOS and the only ever time it was at bay was when I was killing myself in the gym 🤪

@Jadeybabes86 ite so hard to know WTAF to do isn’t it. My bmi is normal but I’ve put on about a stone since TTC because I didn’t want to over exercise and now I’m annoyed I’ve put on a stone. I feel like you can’t really win in this game x

@Hoping43 aw I know and men have absolutely no idea what we go through mentally and physically do they x

Morning! I’m back with OPK help. What is the likelihood I could have peaked on CD20?

all the right symptons sore boobs etc?

Hi @Ldougal92 the results look low for peak but in my experience it can be easily missed. I normally test 3 times a day when I think I’m around ovulation. I think if you have all the symptoms then that’s a good sign x

@Ldougal92 day 20 does look good but if you’re like me and have PCOS these OPKS aren’t worth the time or effort, I’m yet to have a line as dark/darker than the indicator yet apparently it’s common for PCOS ☹️

Thank you! My PCOS isn’t hormones based and only cysts & missing periods so I think (but couldn’t be wrong) that my OPKs should be ok.

i guess the only way I’ll find out is if my period comes in the next 10 days or not 😂 (or a positive test - fingers crossed for the latter)

@Hoping43 I've started taking q10 recently I've heard that improves egg quality 🤷‍♀️

@MK85 thank you but I’ve literally tried everything. Been taking 800mg of cq10 since last November. It’s bankrupting me 😂

Hey, sorry only seeing this! I actually took a break this month🫣 currently CD27 and I've no idea if I ovulated/will ovulate. Will start clomid again next month🤞🏼 how are you?

@Harper02 well I did the 1st cycle and didn’t ovulate or get pregnant and currently on cycle day 51 no period 😡 waiting for the provera prescription to be posted out so I can crack on with cycle 2 but it’s frustrating because I feel like it’s done more bad than good I wouldn’t usually be this long between cycles 😩

shes 35!!! Jheeesus that made me worry, I’m 36 and feel I’m leaving it too late and I’m against the clock so that didn’t help one bit!!

@Jadeybabes86 i thought the exact same. It made me think I have two healthy children, what am I even doing. But then I so desperately want another 😭. But then someone pointed out to me that nobody knows her circumstances. Maybe it hasn’t been easy for her to get to that point.

if it makes you feel any better when I’ve asked the consultant about my age (35), they don’t seem to think it’s old x

@Hoping43 my boy is 11 and growing up so quickly making me feel redundant as a mother now and me and my current partner have been together nearly 9 years he has no children so we would love one together

let’s hope clomid is a little kinder to us both next round 🤞🏻

@Jadeybabes86 i really hope so. I’m cycle day 7 now and it’s going so slowly already. If the letrozole works I should have ovulated by this time next week but I don’t see it happening x

Evening. Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. Out of interest for those on clomid. After your peak ovulation how long did it take for your period to come on? Do you wait longer than 10dpo or longer to do a test. I’m on day 3 from my hopeful ovulation (still not 100% if it was or not) x

@Ldougal92 if you have ovulated you can expect your period cycle day 27-30 or pregnancy 🤞🏻
