Thanks GG Bucky MOB. I was just so disappointed when I realised that the appointment meant we couldn't TTC next month. DH just keeps saying that the main thing is that I'm OK. and although he really wants a baby he just doesn't understand my fears about if things go wrong I might never be able to have one.

Bucky You are not alone so far today -

2 teas
1 toasted t-cake
4 choccie digestives - I'd eat more but they've run out!

MOB I won't disappear off the thread as long as no one minds

PicknMix · 18/01/2008 12:05

Lovely new thread - got a bit wobbly for a sec when I couldn't find you all!!

MOD - thanks for the concern (on the old thread), I'm trying to put a brave face on this month but, no, I'm not really ok with it. Its all a bit pants really.... Coupled with AF arriving, it was this time last year that I miscarried and also we're trying to move house (have to be out of current house by end of this month, still can't find anywhere to move into - aghhhh!!!) I'm sure all will be ok though. (sorry, rant over!!)

Jolly that sounds like a LOT to contend with - you must have been through so much already so can understand your concerns. I too have my fingers crossed for a healthy result in Feb for you.

Bucky - get some fruit and veg down you quick so you can write some 'virtuous' food down!!! So pleased you're still around, was getting worried for sec that you'd done a runner (altho, in true sensitive style, would understand if you needed to).

Hi to everyone else, apologies if I've missed out anything very important, have to get on with house hunting now (supposed to be 'working from home'!)

glastochick · 18/01/2008 12:21

Jollybear I have told DH his services are required on CD17 (am) and CD18 (pm) also, and then figure we should BD on days 20 and 22 also just in case. Hoping by then I'll have had some OV signs!

Crikey, didn't realise what you're going through, Can't even guess how stressful that must be (((hugs))). Hope everything goes well with the scan, but I'd be happier seeing you get a BFP so you'd have to cancel the scan appt, IYSWIM

Fertility friend says I should have ov'd by now, but that's based on my cycle length. Maybe I'll start temping next cycle....

glastochick · 18/01/2008 12:27

If we're going to talk about food....

So far today:

2 hot chocolates
1 Chicken Katsu curry

mibbes · 18/01/2008 14:17

Jollybear HCB, so sorry to hear about your liver and potentially not being able to continue ttc . Feel free to let off steam any time, a problem shared and all that... My fingers are crossed for the speedy return to ttc for my HCB
glasto I concur with MOB as I seem to have missed egg too by assuming an approx ov day based on previous cycles...just keep at it
Bucky good to see you back and in good spirits - your food intake is angelic compared to my coffee and chocolate filled morning - it is Friday afterall..
PicknMix sorry to hear you are feeling , good luck with the house hunt.
OMG MOB you are very thorough - you know my temps better than me. I had wondered if had very late ov too - if I have then I missed it as no bd'ing around that time - that'll teach me to take my eye off the ball (or balls in this case - sorry couldn't resist !)
Am looking forward to temping as hopefully that will help me understand my cycles. CD 40 today - am never usually longer then 35 so it is an abnormally long one for me zzzzz.... Have a fun afternoon with dh !

digitalgirl · 18/01/2008 14:36

hello girls! Just popping in to get this on my 'threads I'm on' list, but I'll understand if you tell me to piss off

JB the very best of luck for your scan, I hope all is well and you can resume ttc with gusto come March.

bucky glad you've resurfaced from under your pile of work. And really pleased to hear you're going to try reflexology. Can only be a Good Thing.

Nothing much to report here, other than I have discovered post-orgasm cramps ! Gotta be as painful as labour contractions and for about five mins I genuinely thought the pg was a goner, I think the digibean does not approve of 'recreational sex' . Keeping my fingers (and now legs) crossed that I haven't upset it too much.

JollyBear · 18/01/2008 14:43

Thanks picknmix, glasto and mibbes You are all v sweet. I do feel better having told people that understand

glasto Glad to hear that you've got extra BD'ing planned!

picknmix I hope you get a house sorted out. It is horribly stressful. MrsEi25 said she get preganant during her last house move, so hope the same is true for you.

mibbes This long cycle thing is frustrating isn't it?! Are you going to use OPKs next cycle?

MrsEi25 · 18/01/2008 15:02

hi girls
DG&BEAN just to settle your mind a bit i had the 'post-orgasm' pains myslef from time to time from about 6wks onwards and they really do feel strange!! they are braxton hicks as far as i know!!
jolly what an amazing recovery story you have got!! it will be like a fairytale when you get your BFP sorry to hear about the scan being at such an inconvenient time TTC-wise but you will be in such a better position to TTC when you get the all clear
MOB i hope you are currently gettin down to buisness rather than lettin us lot distract you
picknmix the sayin goes new house new baby so it worked for me and i would put a bet on sayin it will work for you good luck with the house hunt xx
scully long time no speak!! how is life down under?? (in case you are confused i am ei24 from dec05 antenatal i have gotten married hence the mrs)good luck with the 2ww

GryffinGirl · 18/01/2008 15:23

yeah...go on... scram Digital we don't want no PG ladies on this 'ere thread. Only procreational BD-ers allowed in this manor.

JOKE!!! Don't you dare go anywhere, DG! How will we learn anything if you go?! Have you joined the due in September ante-natal thread?

mibbes · 18/01/2008 17:19

JB I used opks this cycle but gave up after cd25 assuming they either didn't work or not ov'ing Now that cycle is so long I suspect I should've kept using them - but then they are pricey and frustrated me - maybe I will buckle and try again though

digitalgirl · 18/01/2008 17:23

GG I have joined it , although being due at the end of the month means I'm going to spend the whole time playing catch-up with everyone (not that I'm complaining, I'm so bloody grateful!).

Gossip alert! Just congratulated theowlwhowasafraidofthedark on the BFP but got PCOS thread, she got a BFP on CD50 after a BFN on CD33...how amazing is that?! Even more hope for all those long cycle ladies wondering where on earth AF could be!

Just popping in quickly to say "hi" - I've got people coming to stay shortly so won't be about much. Hope you all have a great weekend.

If I'm not about before, lots of luck with your scan JB

Bucky2008 · 18/01/2008 20:03

OK, I feel a renewed positivity now.... This could be the month Well you never bloody know do you, anything is possible!

PicknMix do baked beans count as veg? The food diary didn't get any better.... I thought about lying but then I wondered what that would actually achieve when its supposed to help me . I've got till next Wednesday to eat something nutritious though!

I truly can't believe I am going to ask this but...where are the posts about descaling kettles? Mine mings and I would like the helpful tips and tricks .

dg please stay I will miss you too much if you leave. I kind of went into mourning at the thought the other day.... STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY.

Hi all, no news from me...emerged from under the coats in the old waiting room expecting to find AF waiting there with her arms crossed, but no...no AF/ no BFP...was hoping AF would at least come today to keep me at a regular cycle but no....

Jolly Bear, really hope your scan is okay..will be sending huge good luck/all is well vibes...

Waving to everyone else...ps Bucky my food diary would be awful...far too much tea and coffee and carbs..

PicknMix · 18/01/2008 21:04

Thanks for your positive thoughts on my house hunting woes!! Its beginning to look like a lost cause - apparently you need to be a Very Good Earner to live on the south coast. Have lived here all my life and am at the price of houses (crikey - only 29 and I sound like my mum!!). We're only going to be renting but even then you need a big salary - found a studio flat going for £795 today.... thats ridiculous!!

Anyway, enough of the moaning, have just been on Access Diagnostics and ordered myself a new thermometer (the battery on mine has gone), 20 opk's and 10 hpt's. Gosh. Maybe thats why I can't afford a house !! Am approaching this month with military precision - as Bucky says, this could be the month, why the hell not!!

(and yes, Bucky, of course baked beans count!!!)

Hatty where do you think your af has disappeared to?? Have you done a test?

Mibbes - are your cycles usually pretty regular? I know you said 35 is about normal but have they ever gone on for this long? Mine are all over the place but I have PCOS so [apparently] thats 'normal' for me.

MrsEi am hoping your good wishes and previous good luck with house moving rubs off on me!

Hi to everyone else!

hattyyellow · 18/01/2008 21:20

Hiya P&M sorry to hear about your househunting woes - we are also out of London and up in the North but prices still ridiculous, we are renting a place that's much nicer than anything we could ever afford to buy..but feel at some point we should try and get on ladder again..

Can I ask you about your exciting order? What sort of ovulation tests did you go for? Stood in Boots at the station last night, panicking as the clock ticked towards my train time and confused as to which ovulation tests to buy..ended up leaving empty handed and resolving to buy online so any advice welcomed!

AF just gone awol..keeps feeling like it's going to come and then stopping but tesco hpt was negative this morning..

Have just indulged myself in 5 minutes googling "what's the latest you can get a positive HPT" but it does seem much more likely that AF late due to stress etc than a late pregnancy...

PicknMix · 18/01/2008 21:51

Hatty sorry to hear that test was bfn this morning - tis sooo annoying when af goes awol. Although there are some incredible stories about women who get bfp's well after their af is well and truely late. But I will not go on about those as it might not be helpful for you.

I just went for the cheapest 'bundle' of opk's from a website called access diagnostics see here - I've never used the site before but have heard good things about them from other mnetters. Will let you know when they arrive if you want? I figured that I'd start off with the cheapies and see how they work. My cycle is incredibly irratic so I will need to use A LOT of opk's on the hunt for my ov! If the next month is a bfn then may go up to a more expensive brand. Can't see the point in spending £20+ for just 7 sticks when I know I'll prob need more than that in one cycle. I'll let you know how I get on though!

twinklingfairy · 18/01/2008 22:28

Well, thats me back to the old drawing board again was going to ask how you were doing CB hattyyellow but see you are still waiting for TEW to turn up It's just so poo to get the BFN and no AF.

Have been feeling V sorry for myself today and yesterday, when I got my BFN. I was soo sure that this was gonna be my month. And am now all upset cos any potential LO's B'Days will be getting closer and closer to christmas. DH has been informed he is getting nowhere near me in March or April.
But feeling a bit better tonight. I have now decided that there was no egg this month. The previous 2 months I have felt quite sore ov pains but nothing last month at all. So we did everything right but I just don't think it would have worked anyway.
Is that likely? Or am I grasping at staws to make myself feel beter?
Also, my LP is only 11 days, is that long enough? How can I make it longer?

mibbes · 18/01/2008 22:53

PicknMix I used the expensive opks and had no luck with them - may try the cheapies as at least if they are rubbish I won't have wasted as much money . Didn't get a +ve with the CB opks. My cycle is not usually this long - this is by far the longest in past 12 months. Will test again tomorrow if no AF but had some spotting so suspect she is on her way...
Hatty I was doing exactly the same search the other day . I had BFN on CD37.
Hi Fairy, it is possible you didn't hatch if things felt different - perhaps an anovulatory cycle. Are you charting, I reckon this is the best way to try to track ov - I plan to chart next cycle as am confused about what is going in (or not as the case may be). The only thing I have heard that could extend luteal phase is agnus castus but this should be taken with care as have heard mixed reports on MN. 11 days could be long enough, average tends to be 12-14. I think 10 or less is too short but am no expert.

mibbes · 18/01/2008 22:53

Fairy oops meant to say sorry TEW got you . It has been a tough week for you

mibbes · 18/01/2008 23:26

Have just put my temps into FF and it reckons I am 10dpo which means I am out as defo no bd'ing going on around then - had a very quiet start to 2008 on the bd front as I (stupidly) thought I must have ov'd by then - sod's law I have my latest ov ever . Oh well the FF site is easier and more detailed than I expected so looking forward to charting a full cycle !
Have just explained to dp that will be temping next cycle and he just looked at me a little shocked as said "where do you put the thermometer !" Oh how I laughed !

twinklingfairy · 19/01/2008 00:02

That has just made me realise that that could be exactly why there was no concieving in fairy towers this month.
It has been a rather stressful period. Although I don't show my stress outwardly, (well, not much anyway ) it has always affected my insides. I missed 2 periods when I was a teenager cos of exam stress and never realised I was stressed in the slightest.
That is a much better straw to grasp at thanks mibbes

twinklingfairy · 19/01/2008 00:05

Did you tell him that some women do temp that way??
I am sure someone on here said they did cos it was quieter than orally. Mine beeps ten times when it has recorded the temp. If I had wanted to keep my temping from DH, I guess it would be better to muffle the beeps
