Hi

I'm sure this has been asked before but how much spotting do you need to record it as spotting?

Am 10 dpo according to fertility friend. AF is due tomorrow according to my cycle. For the past week I have had the odd twinge and yesterday a really sharp pain that did not feel like an AF cramp. I don't really know how to explain it. It lasted for a few minutes then subsided.

Anyway, my cm has been creamy for the past week, and just now when wiping I could see just a smidgeon of pinkness (sorry, tmi ). Crikey, I've become obsessed with cm observing since starting this TTC malarkey

So, do you think it's enough to record as spotting? It's not like me to start AF with spotting - I usually get a full on red flow whatever time of day she arrives.

I want to convince myself that the twinges and pain I felt yesterday were implantation, and the pinkish cm just now was as a result of that, but I don't want to get my hopes up to be disappointed tomorrow....

07mumstheword · 29/01/2008 13:12

Glastochick I don't know the biology behind it but it does sound good! If you are 10 DPO and due AF tomorrow you could treat yourself to a test I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

glastochick · 29/01/2008 13:21

Thanks 07MTW!

I have been thinking of sneaking in a test tomorrow am before HD gets up . Out for curry and drinks with work tomorrow night and would like to know beforehand whether I can drink or not.

I actually have an ebay cheapie test in my bag, but don't want to get a BFN by not testing with FMU, IYSWIM. Still, may do later if I get bored / impatient enough

MrsEi25 · 29/01/2008 13:27

Glastochick If you're anything like me that E-Bay cheapie will not see the morning Fingers crossed. [smiel]

MrsEi Oh my goodness your family is in a poorly state. Lovely of DH to stay home to help. I've no idea about bad backs or matresses but you can do some internet research on something other than TTC Good luck and get well soon.

JollyBear nothing exciting to report here - CD7 yaawn.. How about you, anything to report ? Any plans to test ?
MrsEi you have conjured up a funny mental image of the invalid family ! Great news about house sale
Bucky hope the bd'ing is going well missus
MTW what is going on with you, anything to report ?

glastochick · 29/01/2008 15:33

07MTW you are soooo right, I couldn't keep that ebay cheapie tucked away in my bag!

Got a BFN but hey ho. Was't FMU and AF not due until tomorrow. Got some more spotting, properly brown this time rather than mixed in with cm. Have my fingers crossed because I know from MN that brown blood is old blood.

(.)(.) are still slightly tender and firmer than usual, which I'm telling myself is a good sign because usually the tenderness subsides the day before AFs arrival.

MrsEi25 oh my goodness, you are in a bad way. Is there anything you can take for the pain?

Hello everyone and sorry I have been away for a while.

Big Welcome to Hanaflower - hope you will be very happy with us.

Bucky - I think one of those reflexology footrubs would do me fine and a generous measure of Sapphire 'n' Schweppes will soon see me feeling merrier . I shall book a session and put it on the joint credit card to teach DH a lesson

Wow MrsEi . Is the Ei short for Einstein??!! That is a brilliant idea about taking a sample and using a home testing kit . I'll do some googling tonight (rather than on the computer at work ). Jollybear I don't think i could do the Rebecca Loos job myself and then mercy dashing to the hospital with DH's swimmers sample in a jam jar

babybump - I read somewhere, and I think I may have posted it on another thread, that certain African cultures believe that women who want to get pregnant should cuddle newborn and young babies. The theory goes that their smell or the cuddling sensation stimulates maternal feelings, hormones and fertility. Being a baby hog to a friend's little DC is a very positive TTC move .

Glastochick - excellent symptoms . Fingers crossed for you! I am CD 25 so the weekend will being the news one way or the other. I am secretly hoping I'll be one of those "I'd completely given up hope of TTC natually and we were all set to be referred, when suddenly it happened to me!!" people

Furtively - good luck with the house move and selling your place. Have you found somewhere to move to?

Well, DH and I are talking ok (I am going to suggest the home test kit and see what he says) My worrying about his workaholic tendancies should be on another thread, so I'll say no more. DH cancelled our big holiday back in October for work, so we have some some talking to do. I still love him to bits though [swoon emoticon]

Big hello to scully 07MTW mibbes and (if you're lurking ) a HUGE hello to Abbey and shreksmissus. Good luck with all that packing picknmix

FurtivelyPosting · 29/01/2008 19:33

Hi everyone! How's everyone doing?

MrsEi - I don't have one of those memory foam mattresses but I know someone who bought a memory foam mattress topper (she had back pain in pregnancy) and she said that it was marvellous and did her the world of good. I think the mattress toppers are a fraction of the price of the actual mattress.

Glastochick - I agree; sounds very promising! Fingers and everything else crossed for you.

GG - we've found a house we like (needs loads of work doing to it but we don't mind that) but can't proceed until we have a buyer. Very frustrating (apparently, someone else wants it too but is in the same boat as us and is just waiting for a buyer too). Glad to hear you and DH are talking ok; always a very positive thing!

Not sure what's up with me - AF due today but no sign. Have been having spotting the last couple of days but this has decreased and become brown in colour. Started to get cramp pains on and off since 5pm so I kept going to the loo to check for AF but no sign. I think that TMI ALERT! the cramps might be to do with my bowels. It's my FF recommended test date tomorrow and I'm really nervous. I'm still expecting AF to turn up and don't want the disappointment of a BFN. On the other hand, if AF doesn't arrive by tomorrow I will be officially LATE (which I rarely am) and will be all in a tizz. AAAGH!

libralady · 29/01/2008 20:03

MrsEi
I have a memory foam mattress topper and it is fantastic. I had very bad sciatica in my first pregnancy which in the end resulted in 2 slipped discs and surgery last year to correct (with an implant to keep the discs apart) and we bought it not long after the surgery (along with a new bed) and I can't recommend it enough. If you do get one, get one at least 3" thick. Got mine off e-bay for about £79. Even hubby is bowled over by it. Now I'm into my second pregnancy and everything is fine and dandy so far back wise and I am sleeping right through the night (except for the occasional trip to the loo). But I climb straight back in and fall asleep instantly. Great for the added warmth in the winter and strangely keeps you cool during the summer. HTH.
LL + Bump 18 weeks today!

GryffinGirl · 29/01/2008 20:39

hello libralady! Remember me, Gryffin? I can't believe your bump is a whole 18 wks!! Hope you and Littlelibra are fine and dandy

MrsEi25 · 29/01/2008 20:58

Hi GG

The time has gone so quickly. I still keep an eye on the ttc boards and the 2ww ones to keep an eye on what is happening and see who has been successful and try and give advice where needed.
Good to 'speak' to you again. Sorry about the probs you've been having with DH. It WILL happen for you. Hopefully your DH will agree to the home testing.

Hi to anyone else who remembers me.

LLxx

07mumstheword · 29/01/2008 22:15

Welcome Hanaflower

GG It was you that said the thing about African tribes believing cuddles with a newborn helps fertility! I knew I'd heard it hear and today I met my great Newphew (as in I am his Great Aunt, I'm only 34 I'm far too young to be a great Aunt ) He is about 5 wks so I had a long cuddle, then I fed him and then I had another long cuddle, I even sniffed his lovely newborn hair so those aroma's should set something off
I'm pleased to hear you and DH are talking, home test kit might be the way forward?

FP The signs are looking good for you too. Maybe you'll test tomorrow? Good luck.

Mibbes I'm fine thanks, I'm doing the usual obsessing. I have a little more CM than usual but not really much to mention (MTW clutching at straws again ) My temps have been high for 3 days on the trot which I understand means I've def OV'd but I don't know what else it may indicate if anything yet

I really really don't want a BFN so I want to wait before testing (which will be a few days yet anyway) but I just know I wont be able to resist doing a test. Every month I convince myself it could have happened only to discover the dreaded BFN plus added to the fact when I have had BFP's (twice since
May) it has turned out to be a Chemical PG. So I'm stuck between not wanting to know & let nature take it's course and knowing incase I get another CP and doctors will then refer me.

OOH MY GOODNESS ME WHERE DID ALL THAT COME FROM? I'm more stressed than I thought. Thanks for letting me rant.

FurtivelyPosting · 30/01/2008 08:56

Morning all - can't stay long.

I got a BFN this morning and a bit more spotting. I expect to be back to CD1 at some point today and out of the 2WW. Good luck to everyone else.

JollyBear · 30/01/2008 09:46

Hello all,

FP sorry to hear about your BFN - they are just so horrible and dispiriting.

MTW Your three high temps have confirmed ov, which is good. How many DPO are you? I'm 6DPO according to FF but like you I don't want to see another BFN either. Maybe we should try and stay strong together?

MRSEI25 My parents have a memory foam mattress and love it! Hope you win your bid.

Welcome hanaflower

hattyyellow · 30/01/2008 10:04

Morning all..

sorry to hear of BFN's - fingers crossed for next month...

Thanks so much for all advice on ovulation sticks..am cross though because clearblue website contradicts the literature in the actual pack on cycle length/starting day..so I should have started yesterday on day 11 apparently!

All ready to do first test lunchtime today..have had two cups of tea already this morning and have my legs crossed to wait the 4 hours until I can do the ovulation test!

Please no one mention trickling water or the Niagra falls as I am dying for a pee already and have another hour and a half to go!

Away with my mum for a few days so can't log on..expect to see some BFP when I get back

hattyyellow · 30/01/2008 11:52

Finally got to uncross my legs and do the ovulation test and I seem to have broken it - no empty circle, no smiley face nothing - I am such an idiot . Is it just me that can't work these things??

Was so excited that ovulation testing would at least help my quest a little bit...will try again tomorrow and keep bding!

JollyBear · 30/01/2008 12:09

How annoying hattyyellow. Those things aren't cheap either. Have you any more on you? I don't know about clearblue ones but on the ebay cheapies I've bought, it tells you that they can be done anytime between 11 and 8pm but that most ladies get their best reading betweem 12 and 2pm. You could have another go perhaps?

Afternoon everyone

I've been in a bit of a grump today. Restless night followed by BFN this morning . No more spotting after yesterday until around 11am this morning - pinkish cm which was much pinker than yesterday. There is definitely some new blood in there. Was hoping that yesterday's brown spotting mean't implantation

Fertility Friend says I shouldn't test until 18dpo which will be the 7th .

I keep popping to the loo and knicker checking. Why do I do this to myself?!?!?!

FP sorry to hear of your BFN also. Looks like I might be joining you at the top of the list for another cycle [sigh]

Bucky2008 · 30/01/2008 15:51

Afternoon all, rushing in and out.

Hatty what did you do? . I use them all the time and I did break one...but it had a weird book symbol which told me I had broken it? Did you get the little sign to say it was ready to go before you started an then the flashing sign? If yes, then when the flashing stops the face or circle should come up?? Anyway, you probably won't get this now anyway...hope you enjoy your visitors.

Sorry to hear about the BFNs and welcome to Hanaflower.

I have had on my OPKs 3 days in a bloody row now!! . I think it was 07MTW who had this before?? Anyway, at a guess I would say the egg hadn't hatched yesterday...will test again tonight to see if the surge is over!! I had quite alot of ov pain too...not sure what that is all about.

Will check in later.

Hope you are all having a good day.

GryffinGirl · 30/01/2008 15:51

awwww glasto I'm so sorry that AF got you
