Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be a thread for TTC whilst breastfeeding, so I thought that I'd start one. All welcome to jump aboard if that's your journey too, or offer tips and insights if you've managed to conceive whilst feeding a young one.

Hi @ELM93 welcome! Sounds like you're pretty chilled about TTC, which must be a good thing. I don't have much advice about nutrition etc but some of the others had been doing quite a bit of reading on that so maybe they'll have tips. Are you trying to put weight on, or just stay the same?

@Gymandtonic00 tell me about it! My periods (I've only had two) seem to be heavier than they were before birth. It sucks! Hopefully there won't be too many of them before we are pregnant again 🙂

Good news from me... DS slept all night last night! Twelve hours! I've got fingers crossed this is him over night weaning and the start of sweet undisturbed sleep for me 🤣

Gymandtonic00 · 25/10/2022 21:29

@Orangio Great news about sleeping through the night. Long May it continue. When my LG started sleeping through, my boobs were agony for a few days.

@ELM93 Hello! I’ve no advice either, about nutrition, but you sound really prepared for the future. I lost weight when I started working again- 2 months ago- and it’s hard to know what to do/try. Hopefully someone else can help you out with this. 🙂

Billyv · 26/10/2022 14:21

Hello!

6dpo ish today. Have to say I'm struggling with the wait today! Urgh

Doesn't help that DS was awake 4-5am.

@Orangio that's brilliant news about your baby sleep situation

Mc3209 · 26/10/2022 21:43

Ugh. I feel like I am about to come on. 7dpo. Don't really know how long my cycles are going to be post baby, pre baby I was 26-27 days.

Mc3209 · 27/10/2022 01:54

Also, it's 2 am and I am wide awake. My first pregnancy symptom before BFP with DS was pregnancy insomnia. Not that I am reading much into it 😂

Billyv · 27/10/2022 11:24

@Mc3209 any updates? 🙂

7dpo here. Just not feeling it though... I'm mainly hoping that AF stays away until at least 12dpo and then appears as it should do, as I'm not convinced I ovulated. I usually get sore nipples after ovulation, not this month. Though they have been hammered by DS for 16m so maybe they can't feel anything now haha

I think that would be a win first month off the pill 🙂 although a BFP would be wonderful.

Good luck if you are testing soon!

Mc3209 · 27/10/2022 15:39

@Billyv 8dpo and BFN on FRER. I am feeling pretty Yak in past few days, and I am not usually sicky. Nearly puked on my commute to work this morning. Still feeling as if I am about to come on, lots of CM.
Now, could be just a tummy upset, but I really want it to be something! Here is my wishful thinking of not testing before 12 dpo... Started POAS at 7dpo 🙈

Billyv · 27/10/2022 17:15

@Mc3209 lots of cm is a good sign 🙂I had that with DS. No symptoms this time. But...you're not the only one testing at 7dpo. I did too and got myself... Half a squinter?

Obviously this isn't real (!!?! I mean...)

(I know it's most likely the dodgy Morrisons test I took, it's definitely a dodge line and 7dpo is not realistic).

Haha just noticed there's a random bloke in one of the pics

I’m in the same situation as you. Theoretically 7dpo but highly doubting I ovulated 🙄.
good luck for your first month!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Look like something there, especially on the dipstick 😮

Billyv · 27/10/2022 17:59

@Golaz no that's me committing a Mumsnet sin and opening up the test (therefore invalidating the result anyway...)

My plan is to try again later with the second Morrisons test and if it looks like a line then crack open a FRER.

Because I'm not mental or anything 😁

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2022 18:41

@Billyv ooh maybe!! Good luck with the retest. You are meant to be super fertile the month after coming off the pill, with a hormone surge, and it looks like a little line to me

Mc3209 · 27/10/2022 18:55

@Billyv I can see that second line!! And I'm usually rubbish with spotting squinters. Eeek!!

Billyv · 27/10/2022 18:57

Haha thanks everyone! I just think it's too bright for 7dpo for it to actually be true. Really trying to not get excited as I think the next one will be a BFN.

The dye did run down the strip v unevenly so I think it's probably just a dud test.

Still keeping fingers crossed though of course!

Billyv · 27/10/2022 20:08

Confirmed...bfns. Oh well... 😎

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/10/2022 07:52

@Billyv it's very early for those tests I think, you might get a positive in a couple days

Billyv · 28/10/2022 09:04

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I know 🙂 silly test. Thanks for the encouragement

AnonymousXXIX · 28/10/2022 11:12

I def see a line there :o

Billyv · 28/10/2022 21:18

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it's definitely a BFP so far... But I'm just treating this as a 'warm up' cycle really and hoping I did ovulate and get a period.

How's everyone else doing?

Mc3209 · 28/10/2022 21:46

Nothing to report here yet. I've stocked up on tests as now I resigned to daily testing until either BFP or AF. 9dpo and BFN today.
Still feeling same, only now I am more thirsty than before.

Mc3209 · 29/10/2022 08:16

Urgh. Nausea was gone this morning, and AF arrived shortly after. What a bummer.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/10/2022 08:38

@Billyv sorry did I misread, it is a bfp?

@Mc3209 sorry about period arriving, but on the plus side, that's a 9 day luteal phase - enough to get pregnant!! Doesn't seem like you have the sub fertility. I still have ewcm pretty much up to period

Mc3209 · 29/10/2022 09:15

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I am just wondering why it didn't happen. We DTD lots starting as soon as my period finished, I had good LH surge, lots of DTD around it. Taking my ZitaWest vitamins and ubiquinone. I am sure it's just one of those things, but I hate not being able to control things 😬

Orangio · 29/10/2022 12:09

I think you only have about a 20% chance to conceive each cycle even if everything is perfect, don't you? So you shouldn't think you did anything 'wrong'!

@Billyv have you got a positive you're confident about yet? Fingers crossed for you!

I'm in fertile week now. DS is still sleeping through the night which is AMAZING! So hopefully I might get a bit more fertile 😆

Billyv · 29/10/2022 15:32

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh hell I meant a BFN!

@Orangio no it was definitely a dud test. I'm 9dpo, but because I got a BFP at 8dpo with my son I'm like ahh I'm definitely out. I guess at least that's better than convincing myself I'm pregnant!
