Oooh, my first big thread

May I begin by saying I wish you all the bestest of luck!

Ok, shall I attempt to update the list?

OP posts:
scully · 07/02/2008 00:43

Good luck for all the testers
I'm also a bit crap at remembering to take FA, remember for a few weeks then stop for a week etc
Can I ask, what is a chemical pregnancy?

fruitloop79 · 07/02/2008 08:19

Piper zinc is supposed to be good for your DH's little boys

scully I think a chemical pg is a very early MC due to it not attaching properly. Most people don't even realise (esp if not TTC) and just think it's a heavy AF. But because we all test early, we pick it up on the pg test before our AF is due. I'm happy to be corrected or maybe someone else can go into more detail?

How is everyone this morning? I'm a bit lost with the posts here cos I've been a bit lost and confused Feeling much better now. Not gonna dwell on it (well, I'll try )
I took my first temp today and have finally figured out fertility friend [hooray!]

OP posts:
07mumstheword · 07/02/2008 08:27

Fruitloop So glad to hear you are feeling better today. Taking your temps should help, I think it really helped Digital Girl who had long cycles.

Scully Fruitloop is right. I've had two chemical pregnancies, a few days to a week after getting a BFP I've started to bleed which has been like a heavier AF but the PG has failed. The EPU said it is very early MC.

GreenGlassGoblin · 07/02/2008 09:06

Hi all, sorry I'm never around these days - I'm finding MN a bit hard at the mo with all the unexpected pg threads (though that will just be over-sensitivity by me). AF arrived a couple of days ago, and I was wondering if someone could take me off the list for a bit? I'm just feeling very low about ttc at the minute, so I think I need a bit of a break. I know it's only a few months, but it feels like forever, and I am so worried about getting older (me and dh), and about the age gap with DS getting bigger and bigger. Gah. Sorry to be so negative, I'm really pleased for all those of you with BFPs and have my fingers crossed for everyone else. Hopefully I'll be back soon. Bestest of luck to all
xxxx

greenglassgoblin please come back soon

fruitloop glad your feeling alot better
i have my scan at 12 so i will fill you in when i get back

mibbes · 07/02/2008 09:58

Fruitloop great to hear you back to your chirpy self again ! I meant to say the other day, don't stress about taking temp at slightly different times each day - as long as approx the same and you do nothing before you take temp. FF allows you to adjust time of temp taken so it takes into account differences. Am so glad you are temping now, it is quite exciting isn't it ! I am a big fan as really feel more aware of what is happening now.
GGG so sorry to hear you are feeling so low , hopefully you'll be back soon with good news for us
sambrads all the best with your scan

Well after my temp dip yesterday am back to normal pre-ov temps today (I had fully expected the rise today) so am a bit confused. Convinced myself EWCM had dried up last night so thought I'd missed the egg but bd'd anyway just in case. Also got +ve opk this morning as decided to just try it and see (until now have been doing them at 6pm and all -ve). I think it is ok to do CB opks in the morning so hopefully it is an accurate result and I ov soon as there should be some swimmers hanging around from last night ! Unfortunately can't bd again tonight as we are not trying we are just seeing what happens so can't keep demanding sex without dp clicking that am obsessing !

Eleveld · 07/02/2008 10:02

Hi Mibbes
So glad you've got your +ve OPK - means we're still at very similar stages!

Guess as I had the +ve OPK on Sun I've probably just entered the 2ww zone again - don't these 2 weeks feel like the longest in history?!

mibbes · 07/02/2008 10:10

Hi CB EleveId, yes it is good that we are still close with ov - although I still have to wait for the rise - could be 2 days...hope not as really need those swimmers that are in there to do the business ! Could maybe sneak a Sat am bd but prob too late by then. Oh flip I just wish we were more openly ttc and could demand it all the time when fertile ! I know for a fact if dp gets a whiff of me obsessing he won't be happy.
How about my other CBs Treats, how are you today, anyhthing to report ? never any sign of ov for you ?

cricri · 07/02/2008 11:12

Sambrads Hope your scan went OK!
Mibbes Great news about +ve OPK. I'm going to try them again this month, now that I know I ovulate around CD20. Re: swimmers and eggs, I managed to fall pg (although unfortunately it ended in mc) when DH and I were in different countries and only saw each other at weekends last year so don't stress about not BD'ing all the time. Others have had similar success stories with BD'ing only a few times in a month. Fingers crossed for you!

mibbes · 07/02/2008 11:30

cricri thanks for that, you have made me feel so much better now Let's hope dp's swimmers are the type that survive for aaagges on EWCM - there is plenty of it as just got more this morning ! yippeee

NOAM - I sympathise with your BD disaster. DH and I made a resolution to BD every night this week, but we were both so tired last night, that we just couldn't. (I don't think his two pints helped either.

Feel a bit today. Can't help thinking that if it doesn't happen this month, it will be entirely because we didn't BD last night. Bit irrational.........

Bit about the drinking. He doesn't see why he should give up alcohol, and although I know it doesn't make a huge difference to him, it would be nice know I'm not the only one who has to make sacrifices.

We're good at the vitamins bit though. I'm always hopeless about remembering to take tablets, so he nags me about the FA and I nag him in return about the zinc tablets. So much easier to remember what he should be doing, rather than me.

On the bright side mibbes - I've got more EWCM today, after not having any yesterday, so maybe all is not lost. I shall pounce on him as soon as he comes through the door this evening to make up for lost time ......

digitalgirl · 07/02/2008 12:58

hi ladies, been away for a couple of weeks but glad to see there have been lots of bfps! Congrats to missush and all the others and good luck.

Have got a scan tomorrow where we hope to spot a heartbeat as bean should be 7 weeks, although very much on tenterhooks as brown spotting has continued for over two weeks now.

Very very pleased to hear kate's fantastic news, its given me lots of hope.

glastochick · 07/02/2008 13:34

Talking of viatamins I've been taking Pregnacare and this month I've started on additional B6, so [fingers crossed emoticon]

Thinking about asking DH to take Zinc supplements but don't know how to ask him. Don't want him thinking I think his swimmers aren't up to the job! Maybe I could just conceal it in his food like I do with the cats when they need to take a tablet?

fruitloop79 · 07/02/2008 13:46

Hey Glastochick I've also been taking pregnacare and B6 - why is B6 good for TTC? I take it to help my metabolism (works a treat!). I'm also considering asking DP to take Zinc. Very good idea about concealing it in his food . I think red meat has a lot of zink. Just feed him burgers everyday!

I've actually been warned against temping as PCOS makes your chart look like the rocky mountains (Attila quote - she's sooo helpful!)
So I'm gonna do it for a month to see how it goes and if my chart makes no sense I'll stop.

Hi DG we miss you! how do you feel? sickness kicked in yet?

GGG I'm sorry you feel so down in the dumps I know how your feeling (I think we all do). Perhaps keeping your mind off TTC (as if!) it will help. Hopefully see you soon armed with a BFP!

Sam ??????????????????????????????????????????????
Any chance you could post the pic you get onto your profile

mibbes · 07/02/2008 14:09

Oh dear never, don't beat yourself up about missing one night - I only have limited bd chances so am even less likely to time it right - fingers crossed for long-life swimmers for us both
Hi DG lovely to have you back, have absolutely everyhting crossed for your scan tomorrow. Did spotting stop after your last post on the mc thread you started, or is it still ongoing ? I did think of you when Kate told us her success story - gives a great deal of hope .
glasto I actually rattle when I walk due to pills I take - Pregnacare (with the omega supplement), Vit B6 (helps prolong LP) and Vit B Complex as helps along with B6. Also on EPO & Flaxseed for improved CM (and it has worked a treat this cycle) and extra VitC&E (E is supposed to encourage healthy ovulation), plus an extra FA as apparently Green tea (which is good for CM and healthy eggs) depletes the FA in your system ! Phew so after all of that am seriously pilled-up .

fruitloop79 · 07/02/2008 14:27

Wow mibbes you take more than me! 2 thyroxine, echinacea(for two weeks due to starting to feel a cold coming), Vit B6, and pregnacare. EPO when next cycle starts and I'm supposed to take Iron supplement too but it gives me stomach cramps when taken with thyroxine - and I'll never remember to take it at any other time!

So, I need to buy: B complex, Flaxseed, and Vit E. Not doing the green tea thing (uurggh), and I eat a tonne of fruit everyday so dont need extra vitC!
Holland and Barratt, here I come!

OP posts:
MrsEi25 · 07/02/2008 15:00

hi ladies
how is everyone today??
GGG sorry to see you go xx hope to see you soon with your BFP
FL a MMC is where you have a MC and find out that the baby has died weeks before and you stayed preg iyswim. alot of people actually find out at the 12 week scan about their MMC. my MC was a MMC aswell.(5 years ago now) in my case i started bleeding and lost the baby and the doc who examined the MC contents (crude i know but i dont know how else to describe it) said that the baby had died 3 weeks before. it is quite a common thing in MCs apparantly. HTH
nothing to report here
DG nice to see you back here and good luck with your scan tomorrow
xx ei xx

MrsEi25 · 07/02/2008 15:02

sorry FL didnt put an MMC is a Missed miscarriage.

glastochick · 07/02/2008 15:38

Oooh, I didn't know B6 helped your metabolism. Bonus

I've got a luteal phase of bang on 10 days, so started taking it this month as I read it can help extend it. What I'd really like is to OV earlier (anyone know how to make that happen??), as I'm quite happy with my 27 day cycle to be honest, just don't like OV'ing on day 17

I did try EPO a couple of months ago for the first part of my cycle but saw on one thread someone who was told by a MW they were surprised she managed to conceive taking it, but maybe for the first part of the cycle it is ok.

One thing that is really bugging me at the moment is my spots!!! Honestly, since coming off the pill my face looks like a pizza. Maybe I should rename myself Margherita . My skin seems to improve when I OV, but as soon as AF arrives it breaks out again

kate2179 · 07/02/2008 15:54

Hello ladies
How is everyone today?

Great to see you back DG I'll be keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow, really hoping for good news for you.

The roller coaster continues here. Feeling a bit today. Nothing's happened, apart from that I spoke to my GP who said how surprised she was to hear my scan results (told her we were too!) But then she said we're not out of the woods yet, and that she wouldn't put any money on the pg succeeding yet. Wish I hadn't asked her what she thought now . I just want to feel positive, I don't know how long I'll be able to feel that way, but surely that's got to be better than assuming the next scan will reveal out worst fears?
Hope I'm not being insensitive moaning on here, I know the bfp is the first big hurdle, am just so desperate to hang on to it!

FL the other really cruel thing about mmc is that sometimes you have no bleeding and good pg symptoms but it's still not developing. So you feel pg - cos in a way you are, the placenta's still attached so keeps developing - but no baby at the end of it. Sucks! Mine was a mmc, had a tiny bit of spotting then a scan when should have been 7-8 weeks but had stopped developing between 4.5 and 5 weeks - which ironically was when I first found out I was pg...

Goondess, listen to me! Think I need to go and give myself a good slapping followed by a strict taking to. Sorry.

mibbes · 07/02/2008 15:59

Kate no apology required, it is understandable that you are after what doc said. When is your next scan ? Can they give you anything to help sustain PG ? I read that Vit B6 is often advised to avoid MC but I'm not sure exactly why so you should seek medical advice first. I guess if there was anything to help they'd have given it to you. I have everything crossed for you missus
