Hello ladies.

So this is my story. I am 30years with a beautiful DD, aged 4. We decided we would finally give start trying for baby #2 in May. However, as we had a big family holiday planned for 14 nights during May this meant that we were only able to try prior to going on holiday. So we figured that month was completely out of the question.

My period was due towards the second half of the second week away but Instead I had very sore breasts and a super bubbly stomach. I just figured it was PMT symptoms especially as it was accompanied by spotting.

The spotting continued, everyday. On arrival home, I did a pregnancy test, really not believing I could be pregnant since we were unable to even really "try". To my shock and delight it was positive!

I had some spotting on my DD during early pregnancy so didn't think too much into it. However, the spotting got worse. I tried contacting a local midwife who advised that as I was only 4.5 weeks pregnant there was nothing I could other than wait it out.

It continued, with period cramping pains and a lower bad back, although they were mild. The spotting colour changed to bright red and then on Wednesday (last week) I knew I was completely miscarrying. We are devestated but we understand these things happen. I'm also trying not to overthink everything as that's what I always do.

I've now stopped bleeding. And feel that I've gone through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster the last week. We would like to try again, straight away. So I guess I'm looking for a little advice.

The Dr told me it's probably best to wait a cycle before trying again but looking online there doesn't seem to be any benefit or logic to this if you know you miscarried earlier in pregnancy and have passed the full miscarriage. Do you think I will be fine to immediately try again without first having a period?

And then if I was successful would I just count my pregnancy from the miscarriage bleed? (father than 1st day of last period)

I was thinking of booking a ultrasound scan privately to check the endometrium lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy. Do you think this is wise? And if so, do you think 2 weeks following MC would be the best suitable time to book a scan to view the thickness?

Also, people have told me how common MC is and how I obviously must have found out super early in pregnancy. But I didn't think we did find out super early? A few people have passed the same remark ; " you found out early if you was only 4.5 weeks. Most people don't know until later" now I understand if I hadn't of done a test then I would have assumed this MC was my period. However, I was 3 days passed my due period when I tested so? 😳 Isn't finding out your about 4.5 weeks pregnant about the usual??

Sorry for the ramble. I guess it's nice just to write everything down 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Thanks.

@lauzz the date they give you would is not the actual accurate amount of time you've been pregnant. It's a strange one, but pregnancy is calculated over 40 weeks. But we are actually only pregnant for 38 weeks of it.

So they class you as pregnant from the first day of your last period (even though that's impossible!) they only do it as its easier to date people this way. So in theory youve been pregnant since ovulation (which is 10 weeks) but the midwife will always date you as being pregnant 2 weeks before you were. So you're 12 weeks now 😂👏🏼.

@@Lauren441 thank you - i'll keep you all updated.

This will be our first and due January 2023 (all going well). My first pregnancy earlier in the year MC never crossed my mind and I was a bit naive to believe I'm a healthily 27 year old, why would it happen to me? Now, I'm super aware of all the possible complications etc. The worry does consume your first trimester but i guess i'll relax more after Friday.

Cas112 · 29/06/2022 12:04

I had a miscarriage beginning of November and got pregnant again 6 weeks later no period in between albeit we didn't intentionally plan for that to happen. However now carrying a very healthy baby at 30weeks😊

Lauren441 · 30/06/2022 09:21

@cas112 - fingers crossed I can mirror your story and make it to 30 weeks 🤞🏼 x

Best of luck tomorrow @Laurzz sickness is a good sign and it will be so lovely to come out with reassurance. Will be keeping an eye out to hear how you got on

How are your tests looking now @Lauren441 and have you contacted the gp?

I am amazed Iv held of testing, literally counting down the hours to tomrorow am now 🤪 hoping to mirror you also @Cas112 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Maya12345 · 30/06/2022 17:00

Hi @Laurzz how exciting for you, let us know how it all goes! @Lauren441 how are you feeling today?
@Cas112 thanks for sharing your story too. Gives us all so much hope!

@WaitingWatchingPeeing feeling so rough still, reassured after speaking with my GP that it's fine to dose up on paracetamol and that odds these days are so much better with covid and pregnancy because of vaccines etc.
It just feels weird taking so much medicine when you're pregnant but as she said it's better than a fever and paracetamol is apparently perfectly safe! Just can't wait to be out of the horrid fevery stage.
Am so glad I have the progesterone as backup right now though. If I get past tomorrow, I would have made it further than my chemical so I feel like that's a bit of a milestone tomorrow!
Do let us know the outcome of your first test tomorrow - is that when you're due AF as well? X

WaitingWatchingPeeing · 30/06/2022 19:30

So DH just came home with some tests for tomorrow and I couldn't wait and.....

😱😱😱

So I'm 11DPO and AF due Sunday or Monday

Omg massive congratulations!!

I've just read back on your story and I was in a similar situation this month!

We was on holiday and is been the first day drinking then was sick and a different kind of sick! The next day I did a test and it was positive, already have one DS. Was super excited! Then 2 days later I started bleeding and I just knew it wasn't good news. It ruined the holiday! Came back and did a negative test and saw the doc who confirmed it was a chemical. I am absolutely desperate for baby no2 now!! I have just ovulated a day ago and I am feeling sick with nerves! I did all the ovulation testing and did the deed on D9, 12,13,14,15. I really really want it to happen this month!

Lauren441 · 30/06/2022 22:55

@waitingwatchingpeeing - Omg! The three of us! ❤️ Huge huge huge congratulations on your BFP. And that's really strong. 2-3 weeks! Absolutely meant to be. Can't wait to share this journey with you all, we all deserve it 🤣.

Im also massively impressed by your patience on the testing 😂 to make it to today was pretty outstanding 👏🏼

@Maya12345 - hang in there! The first few days are the worst (apparently). I think once your fever drops you'll feel a huge chunk better.

My test looks good today, stronger line this morning and still feeling nauseous on and off. Tender breasts starting now too, so all positive. Will test again tomorrow and hopefully do a digi over the weekend.

@yorkshiremumofone - so sorry to read about your loss. Its so hard isn't it. Sounds like you made a huge effort to cover your fertile window so that looks positive. Fingers crossed for two big fat lines on the test. 🤞🏼

Thanks all, so so nervous now but this is the first hurdle down... just another 8352 to go 🤪

That is really similar @yorkshiremumofone I have everything crossed for you and we know how hard the TWW is, lean on us to get your through to test day if you need any support! When do you plan on taking your first one?

@Lauren441 it's great to have people who totally understand all the emotions isn't it. Fantastic that your lines and symptoms are progressing, how many DPO do you think you will be when you take your digi? I am mega surprised I managed it also as Iv always been addicted to testing but it was much better for me mentally so glad I did, now just need to stick to it, I'm going to test every 2 days and then do another digi end of next week, eurgh I feel sick even at the thought of waiting to see the lines.

Have you scheduled your 8 week booking app?

Thinking of you this morning @Laurzz 🤍

Really praying you've started to see some improvement @Maya12345

yorkshiremumofone · 01/07/2022 08:22

@Lauren441 Thankyou! I really hope so too! Massive congratulations on your positive 😃

@WaitingWatchingPeeing yeah so similar! I really hope so, I just feel like after what happened it's making me more desperate and obsessive too want to get that positive! I'm not sure I want to try and hold out until I miss AF which is around 13th but I'm not sure! Have you tested again this morning?

I've done another cheapie OPK this morning and there is a second line it's not as strong as a positive but I can see it. Is this normal guys (never used them before) as I had my peak! I got rid of my urine and didn't test with a clear blue but not I'm nervous about why the cheapie OPK is showing a line?

Maya12345 · 01/07/2022 12:48

@WaitingWatchingPeeing amazing that you had your 2-3weeks already! Seeing it in writing is actually so satisfying isn't it?!
Covid is feeling slightly better today, less fevery but pretty crappy still! Thanks for checking in ☺️
@Lauren441 I can't believe all 3 of us had our mcs at the same time and will be expecting at the same time 😁 so happy for you both! On my test today the test line was actually a little darker than the control line which felt exciting!!
How are you both feeling today? I don't have many symptoms apart from mega sore boobs!

@yorkshiremumofone I'm so sorry for your loss as well. About your OPK I wouldn't worry about it if you know you had your peak - I think the other line almost always comes up to a certain extent. Sounds like you've done all the right things now it's just the waiting game! Fingers crossed for you!

@Laurzz have you had your scan yet? Hope all is well ☺️

X

yorkshiremumofone · 01/07/2022 12:53

Thank you @Maya12345!! Massive congratulations too! I bet seeing that line getting darker is so good! It makes such a difference to your mental health!

I really hope I'll be joining you ladies this month with a BFP!!!!

I had my peak Monday and keep googling everything I don't feel anything yet I do think I'm slightly obsessing 🙄🙈 argggggg

Maya12345 · 01/07/2022 13:42

@yorkshiremumofone thanks so much! So happy to see them get darker, when I had my mc on 17dpo my test was so much lighter which I thought was strange and didn't realise at the time.. so it feels great seeing such progression this time!
I totally get it, I was a serial Googler of dpo symptoms everyday!! I started to get symptoms like 5/6 dpo but I may have imagined them! The spotting was my main clue though. X

Maya12345 · 01/07/2022 13:45

@Laurzz awww oh my goodness!! That's so exciting. So glad you can relax a bit now. If all goes to plan and my dates are right, my due date should be exactly 2 months later than yours on 6th March!
Best of luck with second trimester xxx

Yeahh! I've seen people post about tests getting lighter as the pregnant goes further but everything has been ok too something to do with HCG I'm not sure now 🙈
Was is just very light spotting you had? I literally cannot wait for the next few days to see if I feel anything! I'm so exhausted at the mo, headaches and I woke up a couple of times feeling sick in the night but again I'm sure not of them are symptoms so early! 🙈 x

Lauren441 · 01/07/2022 16:47

@laurzz - absolutely fantastic news, congratulations on your wriggly 13week old babe! Super clear scan picture too. So glad things are moving in the right direction for you! It's also so reassuring for us to see posts like this. Gives us hope we can mirror you!

@waitingwatchingpeeing - it absolutely is. I think I'll be about 15dpo doing the digi but as I don't know when I ovulated I'm kind of using the most logical date of sex as an ovulation guide 🙈🤣 so 19th of June, which is the same as you isn't it. So will see what the digi says on Monday and until then I'm still continuing to do manual tests. And so far things seem to be going in the right direction. I've not sceduled my 8 week booking apt yet as I kind of just feel like I want to see 3+ weeks on a digi before I ring any midwife this time around. How are you feeling?

Hope the covid symptoms have started to settle down for you @maya12345.

Im away in centre parks this weekend and now I need to make up 5000000 excuses as to why I don't want to do most the activities. I'm super scared of falling or getting bumped. The anxiety after the MC is unreal so im literally going to look like such a bore all weekend! A part of me is thinking should we tell my mum, dad, brother and sis in law so I don't look like I'm not joining in! But equally I don't want to spoil what could be a nice Suprise in 12 weeks!
