Hello ladies.

So this is my story. I am 30years with a beautiful DD, aged 4. We decided we would finally give start trying for baby #2 in May. However, as we had a big family holiday planned for 14 nights during May this meant that we were only able to try prior to going on holiday. So we figured that month was completely out of the question.

My period was due towards the second half of the second week away but Instead I had very sore breasts and a super bubbly stomach. I just figured it was PMT symptoms especially as it was accompanied by spotting.

The spotting continued, everyday. On arrival home, I did a pregnancy test, really not believing I could be pregnant since we were unable to even really "try". To my shock and delight it was positive!

I had some spotting on my DD during early pregnancy so didn't think too much into it. However, the spotting got worse. I tried contacting a local midwife who advised that as I was only 4.5 weeks pregnant there was nothing I could other than wait it out.

It continued, with period cramping pains and a lower bad back, although they were mild. The spotting colour changed to bright red and then on Wednesday (last week) I knew I was completely miscarrying. We are devestated but we understand these things happen. I'm also trying not to overthink everything as that's what I always do.

I've now stopped bleeding. And feel that I've gone through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster the last week. We would like to try again, straight away. So I guess I'm looking for a little advice.

The Dr told me it's probably best to wait a cycle before trying again but looking online there doesn't seem to be any benefit or logic to this if you know you miscarried earlier in pregnancy and have passed the full miscarriage. Do you think I will be fine to immediately try again without first having a period?

And then if I was successful would I just count my pregnancy from the miscarriage bleed? (father than 1st day of last period)

I was thinking of booking a ultrasound scan privately to check the endometrium lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy. Do you think this is wise? And if so, do you think 2 weeks following MC would be the best suitable time to book a scan to view the thickness?

Also, people have told me how common MC is and how I obviously must have found out super early in pregnancy. But I didn't think we did find out super early? A few people have passed the same remark ; " you found out early if you was only 4.5 weeks. Most people don't know until later" now I understand if I hadn't of done a test then I would have assumed this MC was my period. However, I was 3 days passed my due period when I tested so? 😳 Isn't finding out your about 4.5 weeks pregnant about the usual??

Sorry for the ramble. I guess it's nice just to write everything down 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Thanks.

So exciting @Maya12345 I have my 12week on Friday and am so excited and sacred in equal measure.

I'm still feeling very nauseous and rough, how's your morning sickness.

Did you find out the sex @Laurzz ???? With my daughter I was really able to start getting excited and enjoy it after the 20week one 🤍

Laurzz · 24/08/2022 16:35

@WaitingWatchingPeeing Ohh good luck for Friday and keep us all updated. I completely get how you feel. I had morning sickness up until 18 weeks but eased off now.

We have decided not to find out the sex. Although everyone around me thinks it could be a boy. I have no clue, it's also my first pregnancy so nothing to compare it with.

Maya12345 · 26/08/2022 09:35

@Laurzz thanks so much, congratulations on having a positive 20 week scan, that's so exciting! Half way there 😁
My doc suggested waiting to tell people until the three working days have passed where if it's bad news about the screening they'll let me know. No news is good news!
Yeah I'm not putting anything on socials either, just telling people in person! I'm showing so much already though they'll be guessing soon enough anyway! We've decided not to find out the sex either, my friend who just had a baby said not knowing really helped her through labour as she was so excited to find out!

@WaitingWatchingPeeing good luck today lovely!! Let us know how it goes ☺️
So sorry you've been feeling so sick, hopefully that clears up soon enough for you now 2nd trimester is coming up! Mine stopped a fair while ago which was very nice! Xxx

Totally forgot to update... very wriggly healthy looking bean at our scan on Friday. Now just waiting for our blood screen results to share wider (told will take min 2weeks!) but have told our siblings now as was on an excited high after seeing him/her 😍

What are people doing about finding out sex. We did with our first but only because I had worked it out myself looking at the scan. Tempted to not find out this time but not sure if I have the will power 😊

Maya12345 · 30/08/2022 22:09

@WaitingWatchingPeeing aww yay so happy for you!!! My letter came in 3 days which I was impressed with so it might be quicker! Also our midwife said if it's high risk they'd call within 3 days anyway... Also I don't want to find out the sex but my husband does so we'll see it guess! I reckon it'll help me in labour to not know! 😂Give me something to push towards!

Hi all

Wanted to join as it looks like a lucky thread. I had a chemical last month at 5+3. It was only cycle 2 trying so I am aware we were lucky to fall so quickly but it really broke me.

Am now cycle day 6 and have stopped bleeding and want to get back on the trying horse again. Hoping to share some of your luck and have others to talk to in the same boat, especially with how anxious I am about the whole thing at the moment!

Laurzz · 31/08/2022 12:48

@WaitingWatchingPeeing Congratulations 😁. My results took just under 2 weeks to come back but i suppose it depends on your location. It's amazing watching them wriggle about on the screen

@Maya12345 Wow that was super quick but glad everything come back clear.

@Pepilachat Hello and Welcome. Sorry to hear about your chemical, hope you are keeping well and recovering. It is an extremely lucky thread, sending luck your way ✨. Look forward to updates on your journey.

I am joining late to this thread after reading through all the posts today :-) lol this seems like a lucky thread so I’m praying it will be for me 🤞🏻. I had D&C for MMC 4 weeks 3 days ago. No sign of AF yet but I’m too afraid to test until next week as can’t face a negative test
