TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

I am on clomid and metformin so the weight is coming off. I have an appoinment to see the consultant next month so i need to get really slim to give my body the best chance although i don't want to get too skinny like posh
I have not tired acupunture maybe it will be something to look too.

I can highly recommend the acupuncture. In london I imagine there are a lot of very good ones.

Look on my profile page under pictures at the bottom and you will see my bump, i feel huge and still can not believe i'm pregnant following so much disappointment and sadness due to infertility, MC etc.. My bundle is so prescious.

32 and been ttc for for awhile now. I have had pcos for more than 10yrs, i have had ivf once and it was failed this is back in 2005.
I had a lap and dye test last year everything is fine my partner sperm is fine so it's just me. I have really bad pais in bed at the mo with hot water bottle hope that helps.

Have you had the blood tests that said NO you definitely don't ovulate or is it random ovulation like me? Also I have severe Endometriosis and Endometrioma.

Thank for the possitive message Pinkali I cant wait to get past the 12 week mark. I am 7 weeks today. I know how the time drags as I have only known I am pregnant exacly 3 weeks. I feel I have known a lot longer. well I keep saying only 5 weeks to go till I get to the 12 week mark. xx

the nurse has just called she is so lovley.
She said that she is happy with the doseage and to start the tablets again 2moro. So from here to maternity xxxxxx

Supersteph, you're welcome. Mine is no longer a pea but more of an elephant!!

Cam - Dosage is fine. My consultant said 3 months at 50mg then move up to 100mg for 3 months if nothing happens. I have a cupboard full of 100mg as I had asked for a new presciption before finding out pregnant as was positive it hadn't worked!! I was from day 2-6 too. I really wish you well, I hated all the waiting. Like Supersteph is experiencing, it doesn't stop once you are pregnant! I really hope the best for you adn am sprinkling lots of baby dust for you. Honestly, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you too. I honestly nenver believed I would be lucky enough to have a baby, and now can not believe I am nearly half way through. Good Luck x

Hey all. I've just started on metformin and will be taking clomid for the first time once AF starts (on progesterone to induce this). Having not ovulated since coming off the pill over a year ago, it's all rather nerve wracking, yet exciting. Any hints on what to expect would be gratefully received.

I checked the calendar and realised had i not had a MC in March I would have been about 16 weeks preggers by now.... ah well...

you lucky mare! Metformin and clomid...and weight melting off....
I am still killing myself at the gym. Hit a plateau last 3 weeks but weight at the weekend and luckily I have lost another 1 kilo. So I think it is on the move again.

Did you read the post about my GP not wanting to refer me to the endo unit as they put women on metformin and she thought I best avoid it!!! I am going to take her up on the 2 months of blood tests to see if my 2 stone weight loss has kicked my ovulation into play, and if not, then I am going to another GP and asking to be sent to that damn endo unit!

I can't believe every medical person has fobbed me off with the ' well you have done a heroic job all by yourself losing all this weight, so just keep on'. Yeah yeah yeah...

What do people think???

Is it best to go to the endo/gynae unit or back to the fertility unit?

Dungungirl - Hello and thank you. I feel like a beached whale and am away on holiday next week and slightly confused I may get harpooned!! Also my boobs are enormous! If I hdan't had my mc last October I would have been due June 12th which was obviously a couple of days ago. That was quite sad but I kept thinking how lucky i was that I had this baby to look forward to.

All i can say to people still ttc is don't lose faith. Our bodies are amazing things, true to say they are little buggers at times too but on whole they are amazing, so have faith in them. Hope you are all taking folic acid daily!!!! Keep faith, do your best for your bodies and keep at it with DH or DP.. xxxx I read this thread now realising that i was in exactly the sam position as you, and everynow and then when someone would get a BFP, my heart used to sink so low (esp when my sister told me she was pregnant) but if you are in a happy place, so is your body adn I truely believe that.. also get booking in for acupuncture cos i truely believed it helped my insides (and lets be fair we'll do anything to get that BFP).

Yep this is my first time. Is it yours?

WELL... I spent from 12 weeks complaining I only had bloating and no baby bump all teh way to 16 weeks still convinced it was just bloating to discover that baby was in fact up there in my tummy. So I would say i properly started to look pregnant at 15 weeks. Now I get concerned that it doesn't grow each week but the midwife said this is normal. The quickest growth spurt is from approx 13 to 16 weeks pregnant. I am 19 weeks on friday.

If your not happy with that gp go to another one please i have done that befor and got what i want!!!
AF came so no pregnancy for me this time, i have just started the clomid today so i will start going back to the gym and work mmy body fit and get ready to get a baby in there....

i went to the chinese herblist and i may start acpunture but they also advised some herbs to drink. It cost about £30 a session but i would usally take that money a go primark!!!! so i want a baby more.
Hopefully i am going to go monday..

Hi Pink, this is my third pregnancy. My second ended in mmc at 8 weeks. I have a healthy 2 1/2 year old boy. He was small when he was born weighing 5lb 4oz, I only had a small bump at full turm. I also had pre-eclampsea from 30 weeks pregnant. So they said that had a lot to do with the weight . xx

i have been getting really bad side effects i havent slept for 2 nights i am really tired i am getting so many hot flushes and abdonimal pain went to see gp he said it is normal he gave me a sick note for 4 weeks and said if i need any longer just go back and ask

he was really nice got my scan on frday hope they are working am dead nervous

Just thought Id butt in re the acupuncture. I have just had my 4th session and im finding it very relaxing, i have been falling asleep during it and waking my self up with my snoring!! cam They offered me the herbs that u have to boil up and drink but i decided they were too expensive at £35 per week!! I went for the tablets which were £40 for 5 weeks worth, which is still alot i think, the acupuncture has cost £200 for 10 sessions, i was advised to have 12 sessions so i may have some more when these are over but £200 was all i could afford at the time. So Im herbaling, acupuncturing, eating well, taking folic acid, gyming, not drinking(well apart from a little red wine at the weekend!) if anyone can think of anything else i can do PLEASE let me know, i only have another two cycles of 100mcg of clomid left, how depressing!!!!!

Dungun It sucks that everyone has fobbed you off, i think you should change docs! Have you been offered nutritional help at the gym? My friend has PSOC and they asked her to do a food diary and they will advise her on the best food with regards to it. She is also on metformin, have they not given you that or clomid??
laura Ur side effects sound horrid, I have been in a fowl mood for a few days......not sure that counts as side effects though, just me being a miserable b*h!! Good luck for fridays scan!!

you must feel like a zombie??? honey you will be fine. Just relax and stay calm. I am going to see my gp friday got to get some more metformin going through them like crazy but it is working didn't think it was that fast. Took my clomid tablet today feeling hot and a slight headache. There will be no rest for me this wknd

I have read and been told that it is very good with ivf. I have a fertilty book and i have only just re read it by zita west.

yes i do feel like zombie got to sleep last night about 5oclock am and slept till 10 so thats good my stomache is still hurting though did you feel anything like this ?
