TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

Hi Danismum, its unusual you are not being monitored, they normally scan you around day 11-12 to see you ar not over producing eggs and that your womb lining is thinkening, who prescribed the Clomid for you?

I had simliar pains - not quite so strong, maybe I'd describe it as discomfort, last month.

That was my second cycle of Clomid, and it was a couple of days before I usually Ovulate. My temping charts shows me as not having ovulated at all last month, but I think it's because my temps were weird, probably because I can't be arsed getting up at 6.30 at the weekend to take them at the same time every day.

I certainly thought it was indicative of ovulation though.

Sadly my PCT do not do the proper scanning that they should with Clomid, so it takes a bit of guess work. Are you charting your temperature?

it was the consultant at the hospital. been ttc for 2 yrs, had lap/dye test in jan, didn't work as my insides went into spasm, so then had laparoscopy and they found a small amount of endometriosis, so then they started me on 50mg of clomid for 3 months, and this is the first month. I've never noticed much pain around ovulation time before, may a few mins here and there but nothing more noticable. is it meant to hurt/ache this much?!

i do take my temp, but it's up and down all over the place!! Got a kit from boots and it said about disturbed nights etc, and i get a disturbed night most nights. my 6 yr old still wets the bed so she comes and tells me so i'm usually up sometime between 1-4am.

I think it is much more common than people realise for ladies to be put on clomid without any monitoring. It is all down to the NHS trust in your area.

There have been women on this thread whose GPs have prescribed, not even a consultant!

However, if you have real discomfort you should go see your GP immediately, or call your fertilty unit immediately and tell them. They might insist you go in to be checked - just to be safe. Call them!

It is weird isn't it, how you feel like you are coping with a MC and at the beginning you do, but it does hit you eventually. I still have all these questions in my head as to why!

My sisters are all convinced that I suffered the MC because I caught fifth disease (slapped cheek) off my 3 year old. It does cause MC in early pregnancy...maybe it is a good thing to blame it on....who knows...

I am now counting the days till the first day 21! So that i can have my first blood test...can't wait now! Yeah...consultant or no consultant, come august - I am popping that pill!

hi dungungirl, thanks for your reply, i called them this morning and they said it's normal to feel like you've got really bad constipation(!) and that if it gets unbearable then to call them back. It's uncomfortable, but i can hack it!!

i am so happy everything is working for you bet your really eager to do a test lol...
what does it mean when your lining is thickening is that a good result ?

the clomid i would say took may on the 2 day i felt different. Mu period stopped and i was feeling tired and sick. I have now got meformin and i cn notice a slight weight lost and it works well with the clomis so the dr's tell me.
The fertilty nurse just called me and sai that i Ovualted!!!!! so i am to test in 2wks time. She advised that if i get a period to start the tablets again, but i won't be montioried as much as this time. I have been to the hospital more times over these past 2 months it's unreal. I guess she is happy with the doseage and stuff.
I was not sure what she meant by the womb is thicking so i looked it up and it thickens when your body is getting ready to recieve the egg and then if you are not pregnant then you get a period. I hope i understood that right.
I am not ready to go back to work it is very stressful. I will wait and see after test day. How are you? how are you feeling?

i have been looking on other websites and there are girls who bmi is waa over 40 and they concieved 1st time my bmi is 38.5 so i am a bit woried it might not work but if it worked for them i can only hope i am the same

it's my first time, i am not sure what my bmi is but the metformin is helping me.
I find myself looking at other web pages too and the way i see things is that there is someone who is worse off than me. I was going to the gym but with work commitments i haven't done anything just gentle sex marthon

yes but thats just cos am on my period i think i have been going the gym 3 times a week but nothing seems to be happening and with all the good weather i dont feel like eating with it being to hot so thought i would have lost weight but not the case i have put 1 kilo on i understand what u mean about other people being worse off than us and they concieve so there is hope for us yet lol.............. were are you from ?

they say i am over weight but i don't feel it. i am due to see the consultant next month so i have better get in shape.

i am good today apart from i had a upset tummy this morning but ok now. I took metformin without food and it had an effect.
I havent suffered with any headaches and blurred vision i did have light headness.

hi cam i took some pain killers a mixture of headaches and period pains i have never had a period so painful how are you withyours

so it has not stopped then? I haven't had a period since last month when i started the clomid. I have notcied that with my periods it is very clotty (sorry to be nasty) but it is painfully and i usally have to take stronger pain killers for it. I am waiting to see if i have concieved this 2 wk wait i have been her before when i had the ivf. I am just being faithfully. I have stopped smoking ages ago and taking folic acid so i am doing my best now better than before.

i am taking folic acid with clomid every morning i dont no when mynext appointment with consultant is but my scan is the 20th at 810am they always make it early lol........

i can't tell you it was so much i think it was about 6-7, i have gone past feeling embrassed i just go take my knickers of and get scanned......

I had to go to the hospital twice in one week??? i don't want to tell work anything yet it is too much, they will be fine at first but with the appoinments they would be funny. I want my baby more so what ever.
