TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

Hi dungungirl how you doing?
i had my scan today i have to go to the hospital thursday as i don't have enough follicles. i also got some metaformin weight lose here i come.
My side effects with the clomid was not that bad feeling sick and really tired all systoms like in a pregnancy. dungungirl have you got any tips for me? i really am staying positive and not thinking too much about it which can be hard sometimes.

Great to see you sweetie! I am doing alright thanks. As I mentioned to cam75, I have been holding off until my appointment on Monday. If on Monday she still refuses to prescribe clomid then I will be taking things into my own hands.

I think you are right to listen to yourself and not rush back into TTC. It is a lot to get over. Big Hugs to you. Just take your time.

Thankyou dungungirl, i finally made it. And without clomid, i was given 3 months of clomid but only took it for 2, and got pregnant in the month that i didnt take it

I also had a lap&dye done before i conceived, ive spoke to a lot of women who had the same result because your tubes get a nice wash out which helps your fertility.

Hi all, how far are you primrose? I am really worried at the moment. When I went to the toilet at work last night, I had pink discharge just like before AF shows. They sent me home to see DH. It then stopped and this morning it was pinkish again in colour. The fertility nurse said as I am only four weeks it could still be implantation bleeding. They said they could not scan me yet as they would not see anything.
I have to wait and see, it has stopped at the moment.
I still have no symptoms of pregnancy. would it still be too early?

Anybody have any info on any of this would be great. Thank you all. xx

Primrose...I just read your post about coming off Clomid after 2 months, and I wondered if there was any particular reason for that.

I am currently in my second months, and my ovaries have been twinge-ing like mad, feel like they are on overdrive, but my PCT does not do follicle scanning, so I don't know what's happening really. Not sure if I should continue for next month.

i went docs today he gave me clomid i am so happy he told me take it days 2-6 of my period then i have to go on my 11th day for an internal scan to check im ovualting then 21st day i go for blood tests he said he is only giving me it for 3 months then if nothng happens he will try iui he gave me 50mg i cant believe it cos my bmi is 39

I'm on my third tablet today and OH MY GOD the hot flushes!!! mood swings not as bad as i remember though DH would probably disagree though

Lauralou congrats on getting clomid, really hope it works for you from wat i can remember when i was on clomid the last time i got fairly sharp twinges around ovoulation time. are you using opks ?

ovulation pridictor kits though to be honest i'm not sure how reliable they are or if clomid affects the results

Not to bad, just took my third tablet today and actually not feeling to bad, hot flushes, but the mood swinges are definetly not here yet i find actually taking the tablets in the evening seems to improve on the side effects

my doctor said today that on day 11 of my cycle he will perform a internal scan have u had one of these and is it sore lol

no, i started taking clomid in January, first round i had a chemical pregnancy, on my second round i got a BFP, unfortunatly i m/c. this is my first month back on clomid, my dose is 50mg cd2-7, this is my third day on it. my doctor is doing blood tests on cd21 every month, i think the scan is to see if your ovary is "ready to go" dont worry , i'm sure there is someone on this thread who will be able to tell you what its like

You lucky lucky thing! I think there is a definite 'postcode lottery' going on with the NHS on fertility. You are one of the lucky ones!!! Congrats!

When I first saw the consultant, my bmi was 36.9 ( I had already lost 1 stone before my appointment ) and she still sent me away! Boo hoo....why is life so unfair...

Ah well....I am now under 35, so hopefully like you I will have that clomid prescription in my hand on Monday!!!!

Are you excited then Lauraloo? When do yo reckon you may need to start your first round...we may even be starting at the same sort of time!

he gave me provera again to start in two weeks which is the 11th june for 7 days then normally 3 days later i begin period so hopefully around the 23rd june he said take them cd2-6 then on my 11th day i have to go for a internal scan i hope it doesnt hurt lol

i hope ur doc will give u it will be nice for us to be on it the same time so we both no what to expect

Hi Lauralou I am waiting to start my 3rd Cycle of 100mg Clomid days 2-6, I had a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage last month on my 2nd Cycle (so it does work) I have the internal scans on day 11 its fine, not at all painful you will be fine, its nothing to worry about, I am CD39 today, long cycle after CP/MC so I will be hanging around with you and dungungirl too.

YES I DO! ME!

I had to have an internal scan and all the blood tests done once I was referred to the subfertility unit back in November!

It is a little embarrassing...but it doesn't hurt. The scanner thing is like a plastic vibrator that they load up with gel so that it is easily inserted. eewww....

But yeah, it can be a little uncomfortable if your sonographer is at all rough when the scanning is happening...but if not it is fine.

Hi ladies - just read the last few post and can also say, LauraLou, that internal scans shouldn't hurt. I've had over a dozen in the last 9 months and they can be uncomforatble but not painful.
They are not as embarrassing as smear tests as you have a sheet over your legs and just lie with your knees bent and your legs apart - not all splayed out like a smear test.
It does depend on the sonographer; I've had some that last about 2 mins and others that seem to go on and on and I've been asked to put my fists under my bottom and lie slightly on one side etc.
Make sure you have an empty bladder as this makes it much easier for them to see what is going on.
