TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Amen ! I don't get it either...these girls who sleep about, smoke and drink seem to also be blessed with the ability to pro-create as much as they want! I don't understand it! Yet we all would give loving and stable homes and lives to our babies BUT we have to face all this hardship. Life really blows sometimes! Excuse my french!

I am sure you will be fine though. As long as you haven't totally lost all symptoms and you have no bleeding you are probably fine.

I convinved myself I would be fine even after spotting for 4 days and suddenly losing the sore boobs I had for the last week...silly me eh!

Anyway, I am hanging in there. Am planning to be off work all week after all - I think I just need some 'me' time and family time.

You'll be fine if you are only BMI 31. YOu should be able to drop below the 30 mark within a month. Good luck!
I started off with a BMI of 38 back in November 07. As of today my BMI is 34.8 that has been 1.5 stone to reach this. I am aiming to lose another stone over the next 2 months which will take my Bmi to 32.5

It is going to be REALLY hard work but it has to be done! If I achieve that, then I will be setting my next crazy goal...so watch this space!

HI Duncangirl... So I've had a bit of an upset week. MW confused me and told me to rush and get my bloods done after I told her my nausea had disappeared. Intially told first result was 16,000 (hcg) but would now appear it was 160,000. Second result received this morning was 168,267 after 48 hrs. Was told that at 8 weeks it starts to level out so not to expect it to double every 48. Doctor is happy with result but EPAU seem to think it shoudl haev risen more.. AHHHHHH So the lady has booked me in for another scan on monday. So fingers crossed...

thanks, Its now cycle day 40 (NEVER HAS THIS HAPPENED BEFORE) and I still refuse to test. I no it may be good news but i am not thinking about it. I feel like my AF is coming so defenantly not holding my breath I will give it 1 more week. Plus i feel lap and dye test may be cause for delay. I had it on march 12 which was cycle day 17?.

hi ladies

congrats to all those wit bfp`s i am so happy for u. i am on my 1st lot of norethisterone n clomid. no side effects from either apart from the fact i need to wee more often(sorry tmi). i have to take a test before i start the norethisterone but that will be 9 days before af is visiting if i was lucky would it show up? i have been given no scans n no blood tests are being done i am confused.

I tested four days before AF and got the BFP. Use a clearblue digital test but i think 9 days is too early. 4 is the earliest they say. Good Luck though.

thanks for the reply I thought my doc was wrong too. what do I do? I cant take the tablets to encourage af without knowing if a miracle has happened can I?

Ooh that is a difficult one. Surely you can encourage AF after you know it definitely hasn't worked? i.e. take test on the day AF was due and then take tablets? Would that work?

Isnt it just? Without the tablets i wouldnt have af anyway, why does everything have to be so complicated?

So all you can do is delay AF... Do you not have one AT ALL or is varied in cycle length?

I have pcos so i dont have a cycle I havent had a natural af since jan 2007

Aghh yes but early pregnancy signs feel the same!! I thought mine was coming for ages (even after BFP) the cramps are so similar it's stupid.

Got my day 21 blood test results back today - Progesterone levels were 77!!!!! Last time they were 8 . So it means I've definitely OV'd this month although I don't think it got me pg as I'm starting to get a bit crampy .

OOh Pootle - that's great. Congratulations. I think often it is sjust nice to know you've actaully ovulated. Mine was 67 and I got pregnant so you never know!!!! Fingers crossed for you because crampy pains are a sign of pregnancy too!!!!!

Been busy lately so didnt leave any msg for a couple of days now..
pinkali, i dont have any symptoms so far and it worries me is that normal? im abt 6 weeks now..
pootleflump, actually cramping is also a sign of pregnancy and it occurs like 1 week before AF is due for me this time instead of 2 days before AF. So u never know..might be preg this time round !

Nandos try not to worrie, with my first sucsesful pregnancy I did not feel any different till about 9 weeks. That was when the ALL DAY sickness started. I did have a few cramps from about 4 weeks onwards. I would try to injoy this why you are only 6 weeks. Have you had your scan yet? If you are worried I would request a early scan to reasure you. Tell them you are worried and they may scan you. I know my hospital would. Its worth a try. xx

thx for the reassurance dungungirl. i dont really know who to call for an early ultrasound..the 1st appt with midwife is like 4 weeks away, around 1st week of May. I guess in a way it is good so they can see beany more clearly but the waiting is so stressful.
only symptom so far is no period n very slight bloating. sore bbs had subsided, no cramps,no spotting, no nausea or vomiting. well for the vomiting part, i hope it doesnt come to me cos' im already on the thin side and it might make it more worse. ppl might start talking abt me being unhealthy and preg at the same time if i tell them that im pregnant
trust me dungungirl, being on the bigger side is much better than being thin. dont worry too much about your weight, u will lose it eventually and hopefully make pregnancy easier

Well.... I didn't have any symptoms apart froma bit of nausea at 5 1/2 wks to 7 weeks and that stopped. That is what made me think something is wrong. I am off for a scan today and have been in floods of tears all weeekend. My boobs are not sore anymore (although they did do this a couple of weeks ago). I feel so sick. Scan is at 12.30... so we will see but I am not holding out much hope. It's the fact I have already seen its heartbeat and to think it has died is just too much.

I am on cd 20 today and still not ovulated. Has anyone ovulated later than this with and concieved?
