TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

Pinkaliii ! How are u? Im going to see a GP tmr. About the bladder thingy, im drinking cranberry juice. It really helps. I think mine is more of a bladder infection than preg symptom cos' the bladder itself pains like mad.
Btw you r exactly 2wks ahead of me... how are u feeling right now?
Dungungirl- the crazy person is not me but my hubby instead. he insisted i test the preg strip again yesterday and true enough its positive.

nandos.. I am 8 weeks this coming Friday. I am feeling on off sicky. Very tired past 3pm. Was a bit worried cos nausea is not consistent. Re: bladdder i thought i initially had an infection but all they tell you to do is drink plenty of cranberry and lots of other fluids to flush it through. It did help but now I am weeing every 30 mins.

LOLs- must be horrible going to the loo every 1/2hr. Did your GP refer you to a specialist or midwife for your 1st ultrasound?
I needed one soon cos' I havent told my family/relatives and friends yet..

The day after I found out I was pregnant I had an appointment with my consultant and he said he would suggest to my doc that I had a 6 week US. My doc faxed the EPAU and I had one (when I thought i was 7 weeks) at 6 weeks 5 days.

I have had my scan this morning and my biggist folicle is only 8mm. That was smaller than last month at the lower dose
I am on to the next step now starting metformin with 100mg clomid.
I start the metformin on Thursday this week and stay on them till I get my BFP!!!

Just to udpdate u girls, my HSG showed that my tubes were clear ( most unpleasant experience!) and my appointment with the fertility nurse is on the 24th April, gosh that seems like such a long time away.. hopefully will be Pregnant by then! Good luck to everyone else this month (wink)

rachie, the appointment date is ridiculously long. they seems to think that we have all the time in the world when ttc..
the reason we are seeing them is because we have tried for a long time and is quite desperate to get a baby soon, otherwise we wouldnt be going to them isnt it?

What does Menformin do??

I was told by my fertility nurse today, as I have PCOS I could have raised inserlin levels in my blood (sorry about spelling)
so metformin is given to lower the levels.
It is a dietbetic tablet. She told me that is why my follicles are small. As high levels of sugar in the blood prevents the ovarys to work as well. So I am to start this tablet as soon as I get it and when AF arives next month to take 100mg clomid as this cycle.
Taking them together increases the chance of my ovarys working.
So I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I am still bding every other day just incase I 'O' late again.
I need to find out a bit more about this tablet on the internet. xx

rachie the waiting sucks a big one!! Its terrible really, you have to try and just get on with the day in hand and not think about it too much.Thats rubbish advice i know but true.
Regarding clomid side effects, has anyone had a distended stomach? Im on day 12 and my stomach is huge.........which is totally pants given that im going to egypt on thursday. AF is due on the second week of the holiday i usually get a bad stomach every month with it too, so not looking forward to that.

Back to my mad exercise regime and low Gi diet next week as...

I suffered a complete miscarriage over the weekend, the EPU did all the scans/tests/cleanup yesterday so it is official. I was 6 weeks and 2 days when it happened.

I am trying to pick myself up again. With my PCOS making it so hard to conceive, I shouldn't have got so happy so soon....maybe in another 14 months I will be back on an EDD thread. Keeping fingers and toes crossed it won't be so long the next time round....

The sonographer said that it looked like to her that my PCOS meant that for some weird reason even though I managed to ovulate that cycle, that the egg was small and therefore we can only assume it was not the most viable.

To add to it all, I called the fertility unit who were very sympathetic BUT still said that even though I do need clomid, the BMI rule still stands...which means i have to lose another stone before they will even help me avoid this happening again.

I hate this damn PCOS!

im so sorry for your loss Dungungirl. I really hope that you will get preg soon and lose the weight you wanted, in order for them to check on you ASAP.
I feel so sad that so many m/c are happening within these 10week period. I guess the embryo is still in its weak stages?

viksam, hope your belly has gone down by thursday. I was horrendously bloated around cd15-18 and a really bad tummy- felt like trapped wind (and it did find it's way out plenty ).

I'm going for my day 21 bloods tomorrow so hopefully I'll have OV'd. I felt like I did - had the old pains that I used to get.

its good to hear that you felt that u have ovulated pootleflump, although the bloating sucks! it will go away soon hopfully.. as it does with me.

Duncangirl (as posted in Nov thread) this is so shit I am so sorry. Like someone on here put, it is natures way of sorting the poorly babies and we all want you to have a healthy baby. It is so hard to cope with and I think the BMI thing is also awful. If my PEA grows ok (which at the mo I am a little worried) I will post you my remaining clomid! Bugger the NHS.

I have been for a blood test today as I was concerned that my ms/nausea had suddenly stopped and community midwife worried me by telling me to ring EPAU. Did that and the lady was lovely but ended up having to convince doctors I needed my levels testing. They did that and I am waiting for the results any time now. It's all one big rollercoaster and I hate it. From trying to conceive to early pregnancy. Why can't god just want us to be wonderful mums who deserve babies unlike the pillicks who smoke and drink throughout their pregnancies and do not deserve children. SORRY FOR THE RANT.... x

Dungungirl i am so so sorry to hear your news it so unfair!!!! as i said before i am having to lose weight as my BMI is 31 i have just joined slimming world it is fabulous and i am enjoying it and not going hungry either, obviously its not for everyone but its doing great guns for me..

i just got back from the clinic and what the doc said is that my appt with the m/wife is in 4-5wks time! so i'll be around 11 weeks by then!(hopefully) but its reallyyy long time to wait..im a bit disappointed..i thought i could get appt by week 7-9.

Pink I have had to see a woman/girl THREE times today pushing a pushchair,looking trampy, heavily pregnant, smoking, with scummy looking men drinking beer on the street, what the hell is wrong with these people and why oh why does she have to walk past my window. Its like someone saying look she is an inept human being but she can reproduce so you must be really stupid!!!!!............sorry, sick isnt it!

im on cicle day 38, I have no clue what is happening to my cycle. Before starting clomid i had the perfect text book cycle 28 days ovulated around day 16, since starting clomid my 1st round jan this year my cycle days have been 35 days+ so basicly I havent had a period through March (doubt it means good news) I took clomid in jan and feb, 100mg and I ovulated well. Did not take during march 1. because I was told not to due to having lap and dye test that month which came back normal , and was told it just takes time and was given another 100mg round of clomid and 2, I havent had a damn period

thats kinda good news primrose! u said your cycle days r pretty regular so u could be pregnant. any symptoms yet? when did u ovulate?
do take a pregnancy test soon to find out.
when i was pregnant(even before period due) theres not much symptoms so dont worry if u dont have much.
38 days is very long and i doubt the clomid is the reason for your lateness. i really hope you are pregnant primrose goodluck

Primrose, Clomid made me more regular then usual so you never know !!!!! Oh how exciting.... come on BFP.... x
