TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

Hi all, to inform you AF showed today after putting me though all that worry.
So tomoro I start my 2nd round of clomid at the next dose (100mg) per day. Fingers crossed this is the month for baby making. xx

I got my blood test confirmation today that the pg is legit! I can now accept it is true and start celebrating!

My EDD is 21st-25th November...due to a weird cycle when I conceived there is a little confusion which is why there is a 4 day allowance!

Pink - I am not as far along as you are after all! In fact I am just hitting my 5th week.

Its 13DPO for me and I am still not going to test till my AF comes which is this weekend(sun).

I really hope you are nandos. What round are you on, and how much clomid are you taking? It is my second day on the increased dose and I dont have any side effects yet!

this is my 1st round, 50mg

i might be seeing my doc soon to get lap & dye if i am not preggy this month/ or next month :O should have done that first but the last time i got an ultrasound done, everything was fine.
i had a chemical preg in 2005 so i figured my tube wasnt blocked.

You can have the tubal x-ray done without having surgery.

It's called a HSG (its a tubal x ray done whilst you are fully awake and will give information not easily assessible by other methods like the lap op. Also deformities INSIDE the tube can only be seen on x-ray).

You should be monitored whilst on clomid to ensure its doing what its supposed to be doing (it encourages the ovaries to work harder). No monitoring on clomid is a no-no.

i heard of HSG but dont know wht its for. i didnt do the lap/dye cos' i wasnt too keen on the surgery thingy.
regarding my clomid use, i was prescribed but because i am ovulating every month, i didnt get any follow-up.
i hate to put my health at risk but i guess after the ovaries n uterus ultrasound,there is only slight risk involved.

Hi everyone, i have just read this thread from start to now, it took AGES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just took my first tablet of clomid today so its fate that i found this thread. Sambrads i think we have crossed paths before, im really pleased for you and to the others, its really good to hear the success stories and how honest you all are about ur fears.
Nandos my specialist said L&D is better than HSG if you have unexplained infertility because thay can have a really good look at everything. Isnt it amazing how different all our experiences are, like what day to take clomid, my doc said day 3 the instructions on the box said day 2, does a day make so much difference?? I have gone for day 3(today)due to bloods on day 2(because of bank holiday)........ohh its all so confusing!! Anyhow, good luck to us all!!!!xxxx

phew i just got back to london today after 2 mths overseas.
yep, even my prvt doc told me to go for the lap&dye test but i didnt want to..
now gotta see my gp for the follow-up soon.
btw did a HPT which i bought, doesnt seem to have the HCG sensitivity level at all and yes, i caved in and did the test an hour ago and its a super duper faint line after a few mins.
i will not get my hopes just yet cos' it might be evaporation line. might do another one in a few days if my AF doesnt come..

nandos Was the line coloured? Did the line appear in the time limit of the test? Oh god, its such a mine field isnt it. Let us know ASAP!
Im three days into my clomid and trying not to think about it at all(hahahahaha who am i trying to kid!!)

When i took the HPT, the control line was dark purple while in the test region theres a very very faint colour which i dont even know what colour at first.
after the 10 min mark, it changed to very light purple....just a hint of it.
from what i know, evaporation line is grey or 'dented' but this one doesnt seems like it.
i did the test at 14DPO which is 2 days from AF due date so today is the due date!
(I have 31day cycle) but i heard that clomid could delay the ovulation date as well as AF so i guess have to wait again!
Btw what the reason for taking clomid in your case? And did u have side effect from it?

For now im convincing myself into thinking that the HPT i took is just an evaporation line and not keeping my hopes up and i also feel like my period is coming

Hi all, I have finished my last tablet of clomid 100mg this am. I have booked my 14 day follicle scan for monday 31 March. I will then know if this cycle is going to work.

Nandos I really hope your faint line is a possitive, as I have heard a line is a line no matter how faint. I know its easy to say but try to stay possitve till you test again.

Primrose, how are you getting on with your round of clomid. What day are you on at the moment?

Keeping my fingers crossed that your line was like mine! I had a longer cycle than usual and when I was 2 weeks late, I started testing but only got a very faint coloured line.

Since then I have found out that it was so faint because I was literally under 1 week pregnant!!! ( or under 5 weeks if you use the proper way of referring )

I've now had my blood test which confirmed it all and my due date is 21st November!!

woke up at 5am today cos' couldnt sleep and theres no sign of AF coming. I feel bloated and bbs just slightly sore at the moment but other than that, feel fine..no symptoms or anything.
its hard to think positive pinkali cos' i feel like in limbo..halfway between negative n positive n could fall either way.
Anywayz how is your little baby doing and did u get a scan done yet?

Hi Nandos, I know how you feel. You daren't get yourself too excited because at any moment AF could start and it woud all be taken away from you?? WHEN you get that BFP I assure you, this feeling does not disappear. I am not getting excited as I have my scan tomorrow and I am convinced something is wrong. Have had so many strange pains and feelings. Just can't believe I am pregnant! My DH asked me that if tomorrow is good news, when will I start to be happy and I just said when it is born and safe in my arms. Other than that I will be worrying throughout!

p.s. Nandos - has no one told you it is so much easier saying stay positive to other people than doing it yourself! lol xx

I never had scans just blood tests on day 21. Last result was 67 previous one 1.0 ...

I just can not explain how worried I am for tomorrow. It just doesn't stop all this worrying we do. From pre conception to conception then you worry something is wrong etc.... 9 months late you worry about them for the rest of your life.

I just don't know how I am supposed to feel i.e. pregnant or not. I don't feel it and I have this awful feeling they won't see anything and then they'll do my bloods like last time and say my levels are too low and a mc is inevitable. I know I sound like I am looking on the worse side but this is just how I feel Can't be happy unless I know everything is ok.

As I had a m/c in aug 07 (8 months ago) I know exacly how you feel! I know I will be in the same situation soon (I hope) when I get my BFP. My son is 2 and a half at the moment fast asleep. I worrie about him all the time, but I still really want a sibling for him.
As I have said lots of times. Keep POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
