TAKING CLOMID FOR THE FIRST TIME AND REALLY EXCITED AND SCARED!!!!

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCIEVE FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND WITH NO LUCK AND AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID THE DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED ME WITH CLOMID!!!
I TOOK MY PERIOD ON 23RD DEC AND TOOK IT DAY 1 _ 5 I AM DUE TO GET MY BLOODS TAKEN ON 11TH THEN 23RD IS BIG TEST DAY!!!
I HAVE READ SO MANY SUCCESS STORIES BUT I CANT HELP FEELING NEGITIVE AS I DONT WANT TO GET LET DOWN !!!

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SUPPORT OR ADVICE OR FEELING THE SAME??

I was given Clomid last Oct and was waiting to take it when I conceived naturally but that ended in mc. I was on Clomid 3 months (this being my 3rd) when I conceived again. Hopefully and touch wood all is fine.

i went to the hospital last week. I wasn't feeling hopefully as i found the dr a bit offish? he kept talking about ivf which i had before and it was free, but if i am to do it again i will have to pay. I had a lap and dye test last year everything if fine.
As the appoinment came later i had already booked my holiday so i am off in 23 days and counting. I spoke to the nurse last week and advised her of my holiday so now i won't start till may!!!!!!
I pray this workd as i have bee ttc for 7yrs now. Ivf is very intense and it so devasting when it come back neagtive.
I am going to try and lose some weight and get my body ready. I have been given 50mg to start with si fingers crossed...

My DH and I were told by a Professor of IVF that I would not conceive naturally or with Clomid and that IVF or ICI to be precise was the only way I could achieve a Pregnancy. He devastated me and I honestly didn't know how my life could go on BUT I was also under the care of a brilliant Consultant for Endometriosis and following a second operation he suggested I tried Clomid for 6 months. Starting at 50mg for 1st 3 months and then upping it to 100mg. He gave me the chance and supported me fantastically. My 1st month I'm not sure if I ovulated as was in Paris so didn;t get blood test BUT had bad hot flushes whilst taking. on my 2nd Month my day 21 Progesterone level showed I had not ovulated it was at 1.0 (I was devastated). Plus hot flushes were not really there. My 3rd month showed my level to be 67 (fantastic) (and bad hot flushes) and on day 27 of my cycle it showed I was pregnant. OMG i still can't believe it. I really do think that the hot flushes are a sign that it is workign properly.

When i had the ivf i thought it had worked, when i got the call that i had feritized 3eggs i couldn't believe it. When it was time to put the eggs back in they can only put 2 back so one was left to die.
The 2 week wait was good i felt that i was pregnant and my boobs were swollen, my belly looked more round and i felt glowing. You could image i was horrorfied when i saw blood, the nurse assured me that sometimes you did bleed when inplantation.
Pink i never cried so hard when i did the test and it was negative. Where did the baby go? i couldn't look at a preganant woman or have anything to do with babies.
The reason why i went back to my dr was because i am 32 and i know that the later i leave it the harder it is.
So me and clomid are going to have it out!!!!

I emphathise with you crying so hard. I also did and didn't realise howmy mc would effect me. I am a very good actress and cover a lot of how I am feeling up so imagine my horror when I walked into my doctors for a repeat prescription and standing at the desk i just burst into tears. They were so good to me. I could not stop crying.

Clomid shall work, think positive. As my doc said to me, you are 32 Not 42 !! There are so many reasons why conception doesn't take place from month to month. Have you tried acupuncture? I started my first session a few days before my lat period, and have had it all through. Having for another 2 weeks then I think I will give it up. I'm not saying that it necessarily worked but i really connected with guy who was giving it (the acupunture ) to me and he allowed me to relax and think about other things for a while. He also explained about the chinese believeing that the uterus is a garden and his job is as head gardner to ensure the soil is fertile. After a while it started to make sense, and like you I would try anything to help things along and am SO pleased I tried this.

I will try and remain focus. I brought a book by zeta west and it has some affirmations and good relaxtion tips, i will pull it out a start reading.
I think i am going to start going being postitive about things. It is hard to when you have be trying for so long and then you have friends that tell you that you can adopt or get pregnant and realise that it is not a good time for them so they have an abortion. At the end of the day each to there own, and as a friend i will support you but please be sensitive to me and what i am going through.

Hi all, I have just done another test and it was still neg. I have rang the fertility nurse and she told me to come and have a scan at 9.30 tomoro morning to see what is going on with my body. She said as the thickness or my womb was 8mm at my 14 day scan I should have bleed by now or concieved. So I cant wait till the morning and then I will find out if I can start my second cycle of clomid. Will let you know tomoro the result. XX

Today is my 9DPO and my whole bbs are paining feels like when AF is coming

OR WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANCT. My boobs didn't start growing until 1 week ago so I was 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. Do they have visible veins??????

When you are preggers and your boobs start to grow they also become beautiful and blue veined.. Mmmmm nice... It may come you never know!!

Maybe this is why my boobs didn't get huge with my first DS...I never got huge boobs, or hugely sore boobs....or blue veiny boobs!!! And when it came to Breastfeeding...well it was a joke...there was no milk there at all! Was a very embarrassing performance on my part....

At the moment I feel ok Pink....How bizarre that my due date is only a day before yours!!! Crazy!

Anyway...have got the first appointment with fertility unit tomorrow morning and while I feel a little worried that they will tell me off for not calling them on yesterday to inform them about my suspected pregnancy...I am too worried they will make me cancel the appointment!

I have so many questions for the consultant that I can't possibly give up the appointment!

Am I being silly?

I really want to hear the confirmation of PCOS from the consultant NOT the nurse...AND I want to ask whether there are any things I need to be aware of that might affect the pregnancy....I want to ask about the problem I had with breastfeeding and whether there is anything that can be done to help with that aspect this time round...so many many questions....

Hi Duncangirl, Well my boobs symptoms seem to have subsided today. Had the most awful nights sleep (or not) as was convinced I was losing the baby and kept prodding my boobs to see if they hurt and they didn't really.

How do you feel then? You are 6 weeks today? I am 6 weeks tomorrow and don't feel anything. Do you?

p.s. I would definitely keep the appointment!!!

had my scan this am and they could not see a pregnancy They were a bit confussed too, as I have not had a period and the lining of my womb it now 9mm ( 1 m bigger than my 14 day folicle scan) They said I proberly am not pregnant but they have done a blood test just to make sure, as they are not ruling it out and it could be an eptopic. I really, really hope not. They will phone my this afternoon to let me know the results and will take it from there. xx

Oh Steph I am sorry Blimey couldn't they rush a blood test through? I remember when I was at the EPAU in Oct and they were so good and rushed it through as an emergency. The wait is awful and I am very sorry. Do let us know.

Well that was quick. The blood test confirmed I am not pregnant. So I dont have to worry about eptopic now. So I am still in the waiting game for AF to show. The fertility nurse said to give it another week and if it starts to start my next round of clomid. if still no period this time next week to give them a ring. what is going on with my body? [humm]

Supersteph - I am sorry it said you weren't pregnant BUT i am pleased in teh same way that it couldn't be ectopic as that would set you back a couple of months... so remember think positive relax and enjoy because it will happen. Just keep in touch with us all.xxx
