Hi all,

Minxi - Thought I'd do what you said and start a new thread for 2008 (even though we have got a few days to go). Sorry to hear about AF but pleased your staying positive definately get reflexology going its worked wonders for me

Hope you have all had a lovely christmas

Well I am scared to type this (let alone say it out load) after last time but I got a BFP this morning!!! I am so scared and happy all rolled into one because of MC in October I so hope this one holds on.

OP posts:

sorkycake ... I bought my therm in the US (Target store, their own brand I believe) and it can measure in both Celsius & Fahrenheit. Maybe you could look on eBay? Sorry I can't think of anything else - good luck!!

Lottie ... thank you . Onwards & upwards it is! Just ordered some Preseed & will pick up some EPO at chemist while I'm getting this cold sorted. Good luck with the OPKs ... day 12 sounds sensible. I started on day 10 this last cycle and may as well have thrown a couple away (was using CB digital then also!).

Hope everyone has a good Hump Wednesday!!

RahRah1 · 27/02/2008 10:33

Hi girlies... Hope everyone is well..

I'm taking me and Ready off the list. (hope Ready does not mind, sure she will be back soon) Also I am doing IUI again this month and taking clomid and having hot flushes all over the place. So I'm not temping at all or doing OPK, so pointless me being on the list.
Congratulations to FP and emmsy on BFP...

I am temping at the moment - but at boring stage of cycle so not updating list. Anyone desperate to know how my first week of cycle is progressing can check out my FF chart on the chart thread.

Lottie - I was interested in you needing space for "a couple of little munchkins". Does this mean I am not insane to still be thinking about 2 kids despite advancing age and difficulty conceiving #1? Or just that we are both a bit mad?

Rah - I hope that despite coming off the list you'll still pop back to let us know how things are going?

I had a recap of my charts over the last 2 years (I have 5 days of VIP membership to FF to mess around with). June 2006, in the midst of my 8/9 day LP's I had a cycle with a 15 day LP. Didn't notice at the time as it was only my 2nd proper chart. I'm now thinking it might just be possible for DH to produce enough sperm to fertilise one of my eggs Only every 2 years, and then my body does nothing with it - but something to cling on to

Just to conclude my comments on career - I wouldn't necessarily change career in anticipation of a baby, but I do wish someone had said to me when leaving school do a profession, then you can run it from home or have own business etc etc,,, I ended up in a office job with a commute!

Lottie & Rattling - I must be a little/lot mad too! Am 36 and always wanted at least 3 kids ... I know now I've been very naive re own fertility/age etc. Wish I'd paid more attention in school ... not that I think we were ever really taught this stuff. Anyhow, I'd definitely consider adopting. You know, I'd trade a CD4 or CD7 for a CD1 anyday!! Any takers??

Rah you'll be missed! Please don't be a stranger ...

Emmsy Good luck!! Hope everything goes wonderfully

Hi girls.... can't believe I am on cd21 and have no idea when I ovulated...very frustrating - am getting the thermometer out for tomrrow to check on my last week... see what is happening ?! Although this month - all month I have heaps of ew and last couple of days very bloated and painful...and even now - so not sure at all about this cycle...

Ready and Rah sorry to see your not on the list anymore but I do understand - you will be missed, hopefully you will be checking up on us and also let us know what is going on - any news I would love to know...I will miss my temp buddies ....hopefully you will join us again!! although hopefully I wont be here but I doubt that!

Nappy where are you - hope all is going well?

FYM looking good - have you tested yet ? how are you feeling?

Lottie must say you are very chatty - have you got the thermo out yet...sounds interesting with the diet and the exercise, how far are you running ? I got up this morning early and did weights - trying to keep fit and healthy any interesting work projects at the mo

Rattling I didn't realise this was your 28th cycle for number 1 - what have the doctors said about this, sorry if you have already mentioned on previous posts, just losing track and curious....although you don't have to tell me either - just being nosy

clair you look like you are dpo past your lp - are you going to test soon too???

Good luck Emmsy

Anyone else - hello there - must dash child shouting!!!......

fym · 27/02/2008 20:07

Minxi - Yes I have - all BFN but I'm resigned this month. I think we both need to drink less alcohol and get a bit healthier to give us a better chance!

DH has now been put on half a ton of vitamins (you should have seen his face this morning when he got the first dose !) One is a HUGE dark brown capsule full of multivitamins and other stuff good for the little wrigglers ~o ~o ~o . Then an Omega 3 capsule (also the size of a large slug but at least a more appetizing colour).

He's also been told in no uncertain terms to take his mobile out of his pocket so he doesn't fry his testicles (I actually shouted this at him front of my mum and dad he was a bit but has done it!)

Ah well its all for a good cause

fym · 27/02/2008 20:21

oh and I forgot to mention the vitamin c and the ginseng!!!

herbgarden · 27/02/2008 20:27

I might come and join you on this thread if I may soon ?? I'm 37 have one ds who is 18 months and am TTC no 2. I generally have 28 day cycles which has been the case pretty much all my life and went back to that after having ds.

Usually I have EWM (is that right??) and used that as an indicator (a la Toni Weschler) conceiving DS who was conceived
first month. I thought I ovulated on day 14/15 ( I did pretty much before) but interestingly have used an OPK today and no smiley face so this is interesting (I'm on day 14....)

Can you tell me what "CD" means? I understand the LP but struggle with the rest. I have ordered a new fertility thermometer today as ds keeps nicking mine and spend too much time hunting for it.

I posted on the conception and pregnancy threads re my unenthusiastic bding husband....I need to make sure we're not doing it unnecessarily otherwise I think he might throw his toys out the pram. Life isn't quite what it used to be when we first met 10 years ago !!.............he's currently poorly so we've missed out a bit this month. Ah well.

I might need some help soon ?!

My temp during period and before ov is usually about 36 - 36.1 degrees c....I can't remember the rise you potentially have at ovulation?

twinklingfairy · 27/02/2008 21:17

Hi herbgarden my cycle is norm 28 days but I don't ov until CD(cycle day) 17 making my LP only 11 days.
I am ttc no 2 too and we manage to concieve DD on our first go by spotting EWCM and BD on CD14 but it is not working for me this time
EWCM has been lacking for a month or two actually not sure why but it is not helping my search

I am not sure if there is a norm for ov temp rise. My norm temp is about 36.4 and goes up to 36.8.

My DD is exactly the same (17mo) always stealing my thermometer and going 'toot, toooot'

sorkycake · 27/02/2008 22:10

Thanks very much FYM, I have ordered that Farenheit one, much appreciated.
Well then I might well join you, have been trying to convince Dh to have a 4th baby which he was initially reluctant to do, but we've shifted his opinion significantly now :D, ah the power of persistence lol.
I'm using persona this month, but have yet to have the egg sign (first month ever I've not had it) I'm on cd22 and it still says red. I haven't reached peak day yet and was very stressed out this month so I'm wondering if that may have delayed O. I'm usually due on cd 19-20. I do usually feel O with cramps, which I did get this month from cd 16-19, but still have EWCM, so who knows. It won't be this month for me as we're going to time for a girl hopefully, but obv not too bothered either way.
Next month means a Dec baby, but tbh I'd just be thrilled to be pg again, so will go for it all the same
Do you download any charts to print off, I prefer to fill in a paper copy rather than online, has anyone accessed a printable copy?

clair I have to say my DH would have left it til we were 40. I added it up for him and gave him a . I used 35 as a starter and said high risk of Downs over this age and reduced fertility.

sorky I use www.tcoyf.com online - it costs about £20 but there is a free trial. Most others here use the free fertility friend website - stress definitely delays OV!

Can someone answer me another question??I've done another OPK today and still no smiley face. Had a little bit of EWM this morning....so either I missed Ov or it's on its way. Just getting concerned now as maybe I'm getting short LP? I suppose there is a chance I've missed ov - felt a twinge on Tuesday when I was at work and then felt a bit crampy all day which I usually do when i'm about to ov. Is it possible that I might not ov at all ?

We're not going to try next month so I think I'm going to be a bit less lacksadaisical (?!sp) about this...
