LadyLush sorry you a having a bad time at the mo. Whatever the problem, I wish you well and feel free to lurk away. take care.

clair not to be too controversial but I am frequently woken at the wrong time and I find for me that if I go back to bed and lie restfully for about 15 minutes (if I ahvenot been rushing about, but have for example got up put toddler back in bed and gone back to bed myself) my temp reading is usually pretty OK. So personally I would go with the second temp. I do find my temp can vary right off if I take it too early (e.g. at 6am it was 35.89 but at 7.10 it was 36.29). BUT if I am having a bad morning like that I will take my temp a couple of times to make sure it is not still rising or falling.

FurtivelyPosting · 16/02/2008 15:47

Ladylush - so sorry to hear that you won't be around for a while. You will be missed. I hope things are sorted out soon and that it's not too long before you're back with us again. [cyberhug!]

FurtivelyPosting · 16/02/2008 15:52

Ok, OBSESSION ALERT!

For the past couple of days I've had horrible heartburn on and off. I've been ignoring it, putting it down to last night's pizza, rubbish digestive system, whatever. Today I've started to feel a bit queasy and light-headed. I've also had a couple of little cramp like pains in my lower abdomen, although nothing too painful or sensitive.

I'm only 4DPO, so this is all either something that can be explained away quite easily in a non-pregnancy way or it's all in my head and I have gone really quite mad....

ClairLesley · 16/02/2008 19:11

Ladylush ... you will be missed. Hope everything works out they way you want. Take care of yourself & hope to see you here again soon. Thinking of you!

Nappy V ... thank you . That makes perfect sense too! I marked on FF that I'd been 'sleep deprived' so it put a circle on the temp instead of a dot that way I'll know not to take that reading as gospel. There's so much to know - I'm glad I've got you wonderful temp buddies to learn from .

ClairLesley · 16/02/2008 19:26

FP Ooohhhh ... there could be another BFP or BFPP (Big Furtively Posting Pregnancy) here soon!!! Keep us posted

Talking of obsession, anyone ever thought of buying one of the fertility spells from eBay? I read about them on anothr post and thought it was hilarious ... but then 5 mins later caught myself wondering 'what if??'

minxi · 16/02/2008 20:16

Clair..somebody called Seaside who was on this temping thread last year (she has just had her baby) I think she bought a spell and the following month she was pg - I think.. Lottie will know as they were discussing spells on temp buddies 4 or 5 !! Crazy but could be something in it....
LadyLush hope you are ok and things work out soon
Nappy hope you are getting on okay - how are you feeling??
Ready okay.....can you do me a favour and test tomorrow morning - just in case as I am away tomorrow and not back for a week and I don't think I can wait that long Actually will have access to a pc at some point so will be checking - please make it good news!!
Lottie where are you - hope you are doing alright and your first month of ttc round 2 hasn't been too bad....
Rah hope you are feeling better now and getting yourself ready for next month...
FP 4 dpo is quite early but some people do say they knew straight away....
Rattling are you too busy [wink wink] to get on here....
Hello to Orchid, Hana, fym - have I missed anyone?
Anyway I am off tomorrow to far away shores with my family for 8 days and it is cd10 so perfect timing too.... I will be checking mumsnet for good news only!!
For me I just have a feeling that this is my month...weird but I even said to my dh today that if we have a boy I'd like to call it (well I wont say the name (I will keep you all in suspense) but how mad is that - have never said that in the last 3 years) anyway we will see - but you never know....can't wait to find out if I am right
Right must go and finish of my washing and get to bed early as have a busy day getting everything ready tomorrow!!

FurtivelyPosting · 16/02/2008 20:38

Thanks, Clair!

Have a great holiday, Minxi! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is your month too. You're right about 4DPO being very early - this is why I think I may be going mad. I've added sore boobs and queasiness to the list of 'symptoms' this afternoon. If I'm not mad, I will certainly drive myself mad before test date arrives.

ClairLesley · 16/02/2008 22:33

Minxi ... you are feeding my madness!!! If nothing happens this month I think I ought to buy a spell in the interest of scientific research! See if lightning strikes twice in the same place & all that. Hope you have a wonderful holiday ... I've everything crossed for you that this is indeed your month!!!

FP ... Minxi is right, you read of women all the time you know almost right away. If I were you I'd enjoy the hope in the meantime .

Morning everyone! Had a strange night last night - got woken up by really bad heartburn and nausea. I felt like I was going to hurl big time. I put it down to the curry we had last night (although we've had it a few times before and I've never had any trouble) but then when I took my temperature this morning, I found that it had jumped up. Still got heartburn and feeling queasy this morning. I'm trying really hard to convince myself that it's all in my mind or I'm just coming down with some sort of bug. Otherwise, I'll be really disappointed if/when AF arrives.

FYM - I could be totally wrong but I think it's usually within 24 hours. It can vary from woman to woman - for example, I usually get a faint OPK postive one day, a darker one the next and then ovulate the next day. It might be worth checking the leaflet that came with your OPKs in case it says different, but I think the general guideline is 24 hours. I always find it best to rely on your CM mainly, with OPKs as back up as using OPKs has confused things rather than clarified them for me. But that's just me - lots of other women have much more straightforward experiences!

HiFYM I read on a few sites that it can take anywhere between 12-36 hours for ovulation to occur from the first +OPK although the norm is to ovulate the next day. Hurry up and get BD'ing!!!

Ah well we probably missed doing the deed on the exact day but hopefully will have done enough events in the BD Olympics to qualify....

on the plus side I should join symptom spotters anonymous - feel very queasy! I'm sure it is just psychosomatic!

ps - have never managed a +ve opk before so a bit of a new experience - only had the one and it was a pretty dark line.

Ah well fingers crossed....

Afternoon ladies? how are you all?

Minxi, have a wonderful time away (or rather, I hope you are having a wonderful time away!) ? and I love that you feel it is your month this month ? my fingers and toes and eyes are crossed for you, flower!! You don?t have any feelings about when it will be my month do you?? ? dying to know what name you have set-aside for if you have a boy ? I will not test this morning, just for you , to be honest, I don?t feel as though this is my month.

ClairLesley, I have looked at the spells on ebay (about the time that Minxi mentioned that Seaside and Lottie bought one each) but I never bought one because I am sceptical. Am considering it again though With regards to waking at different times (it was you asking wasn?t it?) if I wake in say 5 (I usually temp at 7) then I just go back to sleep and it doesn?t seem to affect me, not getting 3 hours? I do generally tend to correct my temp up or down using the standard rule for adjusting if I wake within an hour of the normal time. And it always looks right. However, I am sure that Nappy is right, some women will not be affected at all by waking early. The trick is to work out what works for you ? over a few charts you will know what is right for you How do you feel?

FP, oooooh ? sounds exciting. I am not usually one to advocate early testing ? and I am not now, but I am curious as to how long until you do test? Will you wait til you are late? ? What did you feel like when you were pregnant first time round?

Loooootttttiiiieeee? Raaaaattttttlllliiinnngg - Hope you are ok chicks!!

FYM, If you look at my ff chart, you?ll see that I got a + 48 hours before ov, and also another + 24 hours before ov ? I would always say that ovulation occurs between 24-48 hours from a +, and that certainly rings true for me. But as has been said, all women are different, and it is just a case of monitoring yourself over a couple of months and seeing what happens for you Good luck, and definitely keep ?at it? until your temp rises now

Hope everyone else is just dandy Better go and hang my laundry out

fruitloop79 · 17/02/2008 13:07

Morning girls, well I stupidly forgot to set my alarm for temping this morning so no temp for me today. Had a bit too much to drink last night too so would have mucked up my temp anyway

Hi Ready

I wouldn't be so quick to say this isn't your month ... I've been getting a little e-vibe off my keyboard lately that says you'll be changing your name to ReadySteady very soon after your BFP . Seriously, I have a good feeling about this!!!

I'm going to be sensible (as sensible as someone purchasing a spell off eBay can be!) and wait until CD1 to buy the charm. Am also very sceptical but it can't hurt, can it?!?! Plus it's all for the sake of scientific research you know.

Out of interest, how do you adjust your temp to allow for an hour earlier or an hour later? Do you add/subtract a certain number?

3DPO and no symptoms here - trying to block them from my mind :-) Won't test until day AF is due (unless there's no doubt about her arrival) that way I can daydream all I want for the next two weeks ... my favourite thing to do!!
