FP you don't have to worry DH changed DS will mark the date on the calendar!!!

FurtivelyPosting · 10/02/2008 11:38

Heehee, FYM. I know what you mean; my DH often seems to disappear when there is a whiff of a present in DS' nappy. Can't think why that would be......

Ready - defo gonna try and cook that cos it sounds delicious. Thanks

FYM - as you probably guessed I do like a nice cold glass of wine I did give up completely but got bored with life so started again. However, I don't usually drink during the week and I am abstaining around ovulation and during the luteal phase - though wouldn't not have a glass if out socialising for instance. Quite interested in the theory re alcohol affecting conception. I don't think this applies when alcohol is taken in moderation does it?

Evening all. yes back to the top as expected dead on cue. I have to had it to my body not content with an LP of 9 (Mar07-Oct 07) it is now convinced that really I should have an LP of only 7!!! Apparently this is because my hormones are c**p because my body is aging! BE WARNED I AM ONLY 34. Let that be an incentive for you ladies at BD time!!!

ready love the pasta recipe sounds like even I could do it (i am notoriously rubbish in the kitchen!) But i am a dab hand with power tools so it balances out!

newbies welcome welcome I am the slightly mad (not quite as mad as RahRah) one who can waffle forever about nothing, and tend to make military analogies about BD time.

rah thinking of you.

minxi ended up having a PMT, stress based standup shouting match with my boss last Thursday, which really has rattled me all weekend. unfortunately he knows I am not taking Clomid yet! Dam I needed a good excuse. I have to say that the thought of taking this drug is really getting to me, but tomorrow is the day, so watch this cycle and see if we manage to get a better LP!! - can't be any worse at any rate.

Night All

NappyValley · 10/02/2008 20:37

Oh forgot to say that my bro just found out their only attempt at IVF has failed and I am totally gutted for them.

ladylush · 10/02/2008 21:02

Nappy - oh no, so sorry to hear about your bro's failed ivf attempt

Old at 34? Sounds like a load of crap to me. If your hormones are out of sync and is affecting your ability to conceive, surely you should be referred to an endocrinologist? Anyway, try not to be too scared of the clomid. There is a woman on my thyroid thread who had stopped ovulating due to hypothyroidism. She got pregnant first month she started clomid. Better to think of success stories than psycho knife wielding ones iykwim

fym · 10/02/2008 21:09

sorry about your bro Nappy.

NappyValley · 10/02/2008 21:19

tee hee ladylush - you are quite right. I know plenty of good clomid stories. But I think you must have a web cam "psycho knife wielding" is what my DH thinks I am at the mo!! As well as constantly bursting into teats all weekend. Have been taking Kalms and they seem to have got me back to normal.

I know this is going to sound really odd, but we have been trying for what feel like ages (I know many have tried far longer) that I am actually quite scared I might get pregnant. (I did not really enjoy it last time) But maybe it is just that since august we have been more relaxed as we know our chances of getting pregnant are v slim, so you don't get to the end of the month hoping. Now I am worried I will have to go back to the horrific will I/wont I emotional cycle again. Still I have you guys and DH. We'll be fine.

ladylush · 10/02/2008 21:26

I can understand that totally If it helps, try and pretend it's a placebo. If you get yourself in a state before you've even taken it, you might unwittingly sabotage it's efficacy by being mega stressed.

Emmsy1 · 11/02/2008 08:15

Hi girls, thanks for the welcome! I have updated the stats for you, hope I haven't cocked it up!
Nappy what's this about being too old at 34?? I had my first baby 2 months before I was 35 (I now have 4 beautiful children) and still want 1 last one even though I will be 43 in 2 months! wishing you the best of luckx

Sorry to hear about your brother, Nappy. I echo what others have said about age - I had DS when I was 38. I'd read all these horrible statistics and geared myself up for not conceiving but not only did I get pregnant but it only took 3 weeks of trying. So it's perfectly possible! It's taking me longer this time around but I am 39 now (40 later this year) - I haven't given up hope. My GP told me that we often follow our mothers fertility pattern. My mum had my little sister at age 43 so I think there's hope for me yet.

Also, a lady on another site I visit has just had her very first BFP after three years of trying (she'd never even had as much as an evaporation line during all that time). So I'm bringing some of her good news lucky dust over here for us all to enjoy!!

fym · 11/02/2008 10:14

ref the age debate:

I think you need to take account that fertility declines when you are over 30 - NAPPY I don't think you are past it yet - you are still OV after all (I'm also 34) but whether it is your age or a hormone imbalance there are things that can be done - I'd just do them quickly if it were me - even if it meant paying to go to a private gynae.

Hi all

Nappy - sorry to hear about your brother

We were unable to do IUI again this month as my body decided to ovulate over the weekend. So I'm out the game this month, but have been given a prescription for clomid and some other meds to control my cycle so this should not happen again.
So decided not to temp or look at my cycle this month as there is no point.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and is well XX

Nappy - sorry to hear about your brother. I'm assuming they only have one shot due to finances? That seems so unfair.

Are you just about to start your 1st cycle with Chlomid? Will be very interesting to see what that does to your LP - though you may never get to find out . Have to re-iterate everyone else's opinion. 34 isn't old, and if your hormones ARE crap the doctors should be working to sort that out.

I have DH on board for a shaggathon like never before. Should ovulate at the end of the week, so storing up all the little swimmers till Thu, then attempting 3-4 times a day till the end of the weekend . Well the sensible, every couple of days method, isn't working for us

Lottie - hope you are as relaxed and happy as your posts suggest

minxi · 11/02/2008 14:34

Hi ladies - just wanted to say am still here - will do a proper catch up later!!! as been far tooooo busyy!

Hope all is well - just wanted to say good luck nappy with the clomid and rah sorry to hear you missed the boat again this month!!
Mind you we are going away next week for half term but still no bd for about 3 weeks now - think we have forgotten what to do need to get back into the swing of it and I am going to start temping again tomo...also have reflex on wednesday - which dh thinks is a waste of money so not going to tell him now!!

right must dash school run....

Didn?t temp as I didn?t get to bed until gone 2am. Had a wonderful b-day, and dh spoilt me rotten But a real late night, coupled with a few glasses of wine throughout the day wasn?t good for temping purposes - please don?t judge me, I know I could be pg and feel guilty ? but my life cannot remain on hold anymore - And turning 29 and still not being a mother was sad, since I had thought I would be considering trying for my second round about now ? pah! But best not to dwell.

Rattling, loving the sound of your shagathon? you?ll be walking like John Wayne by the end of it Fingers crossed it works a treat for you!! There is nowt wrong with it being planned if it brings a to the face of your dh! Enjoy!!!

Rah, I am loving your relaxed month ahead ? embrace it (and dh ) to the max! You never know, when you least expect it? Fingers crossed for you flower!

Nappy, Sorry to hear about your brother ? also sorry to hear about your row with your boss eek! Hope you are not to rattled by it.
I am so sorry about this? please don?t hate me, but when I read your post I laughed (out loud!) ?bursting into teats? just tickled me ? and I know it isn?t funny because you are really emotional ? but I hope that it will cheer you up a little

Minxi, ooh yes, you go away soon for your bumper sexfest ? pmsl at you forgetting what to do!! The reflexology is worth every penny if it relaxes you!! Hope you are well? Busy little bee that you are How are you going to get your monitor through the baggage check

FYM, With regards to alcohol consumption, I have been a teetotaller before, for a couple of years I didn?t touch it full stop ? not because of ttc, just down to personal choice, and I thought it made sense to carry this on when we started to ttc, as I had heard that it can affect your chances. The months kept going by without success, and a few people suggested I have a few drinks around the crucial time ? so I thought one day, sod it, I will. So stopped being a teetotaller ? I don?t drink very much at all, but if I fancy a glass or 2 of wine, then I will have it and not worry. I am rambling here? basically I don?t think you should cut it out completely if you enjoy it, just for ttc, because if that was the case there are so many things we could cut out, and still be waiting to conceive and we are missing out on things we like that might have nothing to do with why we don?t conceive. Iyswim? If you were drinking a ½ a bottle of wine every night, I would tell you it was best to ease up, but then that would be nothing to do with ttc, that would be purely health reasons

Ladylush, I think you are right, moderate drinking surely cannot affect conception? But I am happy to be proved wrong, and then perhaps I will reconsider my alcohol consumption (makes me sound like an alcy). Glad you liked the look of the pasta bake, let me know how you get on with it. We love it in this house, we usually have it on a Friday night ? it?s our comfort food

FP, that?s so lovely about the woman from another site, 3 years!! Did she conceive naturally in the end, or was it assisted? not that it matters, it?s still wonderful to hear! PMSL at your dh doing a runner at the slightest whiff of a dirty nappy ? I have a feeling that it will be very similar in this house ? if we ever get there!! Any feedback from your estate agents? I know what you mean about not really knowing from their comments, but fingers crossed for you

LondonLottie, how are you doing? You?ve been fairly quiet since you?ve been back, most unlike you The weather is soooo lovely isn?t it! My next door neighbour said to me this afternoon ?you?ll be out in your bikini soon? ? He?s in his 70s!!! Hope you are doing ok?

Emmsy, that is one high temperature do you normally get as high as 37? I didn?t realise you were trying for number 5 ? wow!!

Hanaflower, Sounds like you had a real busy weekend! So? were you left with a ?clear direction of where you are heading?. And what was the action plan like? Loving the outfits for the belly dancing by the way

Clair, very quiet, is everything ok? Hope so! And I hope you are relaxing and enjoying the business-phase of your cycle?

Right? enough from me?

Rattling - get loads of rest now cos it sounds like you will need it I was also thinking I should up the action this month but not 3-4 times a day. Unfortunately life has a habit of getting in the way! Might manage twice a day though.
Hi everyone else

ladylush · 11/02/2008 16:32

Happy belated birthday Ready I don't blame you for having a drink. Agree - you can't put your life on hold all the time. You have to get on with living sometimes.

rattling · 11/02/2008 16:49

I think (from memory and therefore highly dubious), the decrease in fertility begins at over 5 units a week. And that would be a statistical trend - not every women drinking more than 5 units will affect her fertility.

And any wine you drank last night will only affect you, not any pregnancy we have yet to celebrate Ready. Happy Birthday
