Hope you have all had a lovely christmas

Well I am scared to type this (let alone say it out load) after last time but I got a BFP this morning!!! I am so scared and happy all rolled into one because of MC in October I so hope this one holds on.

I'm sorry to hear that too, FYM. I can't imagine how awful and traumatic it must be for her. Such a tragedy.

hanaflower - I hope you caught some swimmers too! Not long to go until you find yourself in the dreaded 2WW!

FYM - I know what you mean about resisting the temptation to test. I've been very naughty - I bought some cheapy HPTs on ebay (you're meant to be able to test early with them, apparently) with the intention of testing a few days before AF is due. Not advisable I know but I couldn't help it! Anyway, it seems like my plans might be thwarted because, despite winning the auction and paying up straight away a whole week ago, I still haven't received them. I know a week isn't that long really but things like HPTs are time sensitive! I'm hoping that they turn up in the post either today or tomorrow.

Go for a late night drive

FYM - there are no words at a time like this. My boss and his wife lost a baby - it died during the birth. We were all in total shock and he became totally withdrawn. Now they are expecting another baby next month and we all have our fingers crossed.

freddiesyummymummy · 24/01/2008 12:33

ladylush I was really shocked, but it did make me and Dh discuss the many possibilities which we haven't before.... What would we do if the baby was disabled, what if miscarriage, late miscarriage, What if it was triplets etc etc (yes all the disasters I've been reading too many posts on MN ) There was one from a lady who was having a selective termination because the scan showed triplets..... and no, we have no history of multiples in either family.....just one of those general disaster discussions people often have.....

fp Oh do they go out of date? I've had my cheepie ebay ones since last time (2 1/2 yrs) ah no I'm OK 09/08 expiry....

FurtivelyPosting · 24/01/2008 12:38

lol fym - i meant 'time sensitive' as in "i want to use them now, not next week when my period arrives for flip's sake!!"

freddiesyummymummy · 24/01/2008 13:01

trouble is I now have those tests out and I just know there's no point doing it until Saturday at the earliest.

RahRah1 · 24/01/2008 18:07

I all....

Temp has dropped to 36.3 this morning... still cramping , but no AF still... , I spoke to the nurse at my GP's today and she said she will do a blood test in two weeks!!! I think if I still had not got my period in 2 weeks, I could pretty much say I was pregnant as the hospital did an ovulation test and I ovulated at the correct time... so I would of taken to my bed to get over the shock. I really don't think I am, especially after the temp drop... but its so hard not to get your hopes up!

I can't comment on early testing considering I started at 7DPO! which from my research is the earliest you can get a BFP...

freddiesyummymummy - think of your friend

RahRah1 · 24/01/2008 18:07

Sorry freddiesyummymummy - that was meant to be thinking of your friend

Whoops...

minxi · 24/01/2008 19:19

Oh Rah sooooo sorry to hear that af arrived b*&^&%%^& af {{{{{hugs}}}}} {{{hugs}}}}}} for you... on the upside lets think we can all graduate next month and we definitely have to as I am getting fed up being on this side - no offence to everyone else..

BabyBump2B · 24/01/2008 19:59

Oh RAH I'm so sorry to hear that...

I actually managed to remember to take my temp this morning so my first time!

NV - you asked about my potted history so here goes...

I'm 32, ttc #1. We've had a couple of months trying but now I have to take a break until April as I have to fly to a wedding. Early mc last month (which for some reason I find better than nothing - at least we know we can conceive). I had all the symptoms too so I was pretty crushed when it happened but have decided to use the time to get our new house sorted and get myself into better shape.

I've added myself to the list below. I'm hoping thats a pretty normal temp - am using FF so I guess it should tell me whats going on?!?!

FYM so hard for your friend and I am sure you must feel at a loss to know how to comfort them.

bb2b thanks for the history update. Hope your stay with us is a short one for good reasons.

minxi love the reflexology story, going to have to get on the net and book myself some!!

Ready · 24/01/2008 21:59

Didn?t temp this morning, as I had half an hour sleep last night, and didn?t think it was worth temping as it wouldn?t be accurate.
I have just booked in to have a manicure and Indian head massage on Monday, it?s with my friend that also does reflexology, I am going to test the water before I commit to reflexology with her. I don?t really know what I will say, but I think a manicure and massage are just what I need at the moment anyway.

sorry for being a fusspot, but I tidied up the list please don?t think badly of me, it?s just my OCD, I can?t help it

Rah, babe, I am so sorry that it is CD1 for you. I was so hopeful that one of you, me or Minx would crack it this month. Next month! What the hell was that nurse on about, a blood test in 2 weeks!

Minxi, I don?t think that anyone would take offence, or at least I hope not, because I am pretty sick of being on this side too. So, tell me about the reflexology, what did she do, what did she say about fertility and how she can affect it with what she does?? Sorry, lots of questions

hanaflower, it isn?t easy doing the deed at the outlaws. We stayed with my MIL for a bit when we sold our house, let me tell you, it was not easy Thank goodness for our nights in the hotel

Rattling, where are you sweets? I presume things are picking up again at work? Boooo Hope all is well?

FYM, bless your dh not letting you have a glass of vino Do hang on before testing if you can, a BFN means nothing on its own!!

Ladylush, have to be honest, never really thought about whether a sore throat would affect temperatures. Does anyone else know? How are you feeling besides the sore throat?

BabyBump2B, welcome to the thread. Just had a nosy at your profile, what is it like in Canada? My dh?s got lots of relatives out there, and he keeps promising to take me on a visit one day. The plan is when we have children, to go, so better get a move on. Your temp looks fine to me for cd6

Nappy, first of all, sorry that you are going to be at a funeral tomorrow but also that it means you are not able to go and get another scan. Wishing you lots of luck with the clomid though, fingers and toes crossed. Love the idea of a coloured belly button!!

FP, How are you? Resisting temptation

x

Morning girls...don;t worry Ready I would have changed this morning if you hadn't!! I am the same obsessive when it comes to things not quite right!

Reflexology was amazing - I have had it before but this was kind of on another level, she covers reiki and indian massage and balance etc so with the fertility balancing she just sort of holds your feet whilst doing the reflexology bit too - I can't believe an hour went by and thought she was cheating me out of time but no - an hour and maybe more went by!!!! Soo relaxing - didn't and don't feel any different maybe a bit more chilled - going next Week then maybe other week...can't wait where as before have dreaded treatments like that again.. will see how it goes - just need to keep dh in the country next week/weekend - which is looking unlikely he said he could fly back for a day ?! I said we are going to have to look at turkey basters soon

Oh my god waffle waffle - must go and get myself and dss ready for school...

morning all. i've been a bit silly and tested - bfn. on one hand, it's too early to test really but on the other, the mild symptoms i was getting have disappeared. i'm expecting af to arrive middle of next week now. i don't think that i'll test again for at least another 4 or 5 days but i probably won't need to. oh well. keeping everything crossed for fym, rattling and ladylush. good luck ladies!!

FurtivelyPosting · 25/01/2008 09:36

fym - just had a thought; how long are your cycles usually? do you know when you ovulated? i realised that af might be due for you over the next couple of days - very exciting! when do you think you will test?

ladylush · 25/01/2008 09:40

And good luck fp - you are probably testing too early. I've been guilty of it myself many a time!

My chart on ff is confusing. I'm pretty sure I've ovulated but no clear thermal shift (unless the temps I had on fri and sat are unreliably higher due to drinking alcohol the previous night). I suppose that is possible. Will wait til tomorrow to see if temp rises again. It's my first month charting so I suppose it will take a while to get the hang of it.

fym - that woman who was getting selective termination.........was it because they didn't want triplets?

ladylush · 25/01/2008 09:45

Ready - it's just a sore throat with green phlegm (sorry if tmi). Feel fine otherwise and don't feel feverish at all.

Ready thanks for the tip have responded!

FP yes I am 9DPO - I'm holding out to test tomorrow... Although I was 12 DPO when I tested positive with DS. LP is 13 days so AF due Wednesday.

ladylush the triplet discussion by the way both DH and I said we wouldn't get a termination in the event of triplets... what do you all think....bit of a theoretical debate I know but I'm interested in peoples views....
