Tania2 · 01/12/2004 04:32

S**t that was a long message sorry.

cockenzie · 01/12/2004 07:12

Anyone out there who knows they have to go according to ovulating time but hubby doesnt believe in al that scientific stuff and thinks it will happen when it happens? Why do we make it so hard to fall pregnant?

cockenzie · 01/12/2004 07:14

None of you think then that breastfeeding messes up ovulating?

ernest · 01/12/2004 08:12

depends what you mean by 'messes up' - if you mean stops altogether, then no, esp not if not fully b'feeding - my ds2 is living proof. If you mean makes irregular, than maybe, but even if you're not b'feeding not can be irregular anyway, which is why so many women spend so much on opk's and persona. your other thread seems to answer the q. if you're still not convinced then maybe you need to speak to your doctor and/or consider weaning your lo, but as your periods have returned I don't see that as necessary. loads of people conceive while still b'feeding.

My dh finds it incredibly offputting, to the point of offensive if he's presented with anything like 'this is the right time/now i'm ovulating/now we must bd' sounds like your dh is similar. I don't see it as a problem monitoring your fertility without involving him, why rub his face in something he's not comfortable with. if you happen to know you're at a fertile time you can just try to get him in the mood without bringing up the whole ttc thing.

Hulababy · 01/12/2004 08:38

CD30. No AF yet. Not sure what to think. FF says I didn't OV this month. had strange cramping pains, but higher than normal AF pains (or am I kidding myself???) more like all over areas - a bit like the very very early signs of labour was like if that makes sense. Temp went up today, but then I have had highish temps during AF a bit too.

Argh!!!!!!

Hulababy · 01/12/2004 08:40

Temp rise today . Messed up yesterday's temp though.

Hulababy · 01/12/2004 08:58

I do still have backache though, in lower back. AF symptom? or my dodgy mattress?

Tania2 · 01/12/2004 09:02

Oh hula this must be so frustrating for you.

geordie · 01/12/2004 09:15

Morning all,

((tania)) ((hula))

Hula- I know ff didn't detact but I think that you could have o'd on cd17.....so If you get to 16 dpo you really should test (3 days time- if you don't before then) just in case.

As for me getting usual cramps for 9dpo temp still up but not feeling hopeful...

I am wondering about temping but not putting the data into fertility friend until af arrives next month to see if relaxing a bit helps......I don't know

Hulababy · 01/12/2004 12:02

So, you reckon if AF hasn't arrived by Friday morning would it be too early to test (be about 15DPO)? Going out to MN meet on Friday night - need to know if can drink

Feel sick just thinking about it all now. LOL!

geordie · 01/12/2004 12:19

well if temps still up then I think a boots test or a clearblue would be pretty accurate!!

I always try to wait for 16 high temps past ovulation....but I would test cos then you can have a good drink......

lots of people get +ives at 10 dpo

you never know sending you lots of baby dust *

Hollybaby · 01/12/2004 12:23

Cheers Geordie. Feel in limbo - to test or not to test? Don't wwant the disappointment I guess, but no that I will get that once Af arrives anyway. Trying really hard not to read to much into it yet as not that later really. But it is so hard to concentrate on anything else!!!

I am going mad LOL

cockenzie · 01/12/2004 12:42

Thanks Ernest

Advice is very comforting.I must say that i am struggling with the abbreviations.
Its amazing the amount of people out there who got same or worse problems and I thought i was the only one !!

But its also very helpful and i learn a lot from all your difficulties.

cockenzie · 01/12/2004 12:43

Anyone out there up in Scotland?

hester · 01/12/2004 13:28

Afternoon all.

Velcrobott - I was so sorry to read your post; that must be very worrying for you. Did your doc give you any idea of how much this will compromise your fertility, or is that for later discussion/investigation? I thought your post was very brave, given how shocking this news must have been. I have a friend who completed her menopause in her early 30s; she did already have children, like you, which was a great comfort but I know many people reacted like it didn't really matter, when it did matter, terribly. I do hope that it turns out to be not as bad as you must be fearing. Lots of love and hugs to you.

Tania and Hula, hugs to you too. Hula, this must be doing your head in, you poor thing.

Jedds - I think I'm ovulating because on Monday I started feeling a bit coming-up-to-ovulationish (amorous twinkle in my eye, watery cm) so I started doing OPKs. My persona wasn't any use because it hasn't adjusted to my new cycle yet, but I supplemented with others and bingo. Having said which, the line wasn't quite as strong or lasting as I would have liked, but beggars can't be choosers and I would happily have got on my knees and begged to ovulate this month. I am DESPERATE to be pg again; am going to have to manage my expectations downwards - keep reminding myself that Mother Nature doesn't care whether I deserve to get pg or how much I want to be pg. But I'm very glad to have this opportunity; would have found it hard to have waited weeks before my next chance to try again.

This thread is spookily quiet today. Are you all eating chocolate?

OP posts:
hester · 01/12/2004 16:16

or BDing?

OP posts:
geordie · 01/12/2004 16:18

surprisingly hester...dried fruit seems to be helping with the choc

it's 2 (?) weeks to xmas...depressing...we'll all be feeling more excited in another 10 days or so.

however I feel a mega choc binge approching..esp if af shows this w/e

Twiga · 01/12/2004 16:32

Just been taking the time to catch up properly with all the chat. Velcrobott, sorry to hear your news. Is there still a chance? Hope it doesn't take long to get the answers to your questions and that you are ok.

Hula, you're doing a great job of being patient and waiting, I would have caved by now regardless of how early, hope it's good news.

Cokenzie, I'm in Scotland - Aberdeen - very cold just now! Whereabouts are you?

runtus · 01/12/2004 17:10

Blimey you lot have been chatting since I was last here! A new bfp if I am reading it correctly - well done Oops!

Another BFN for me today, now on cd54....can you believe it?? There was me all pleased with myslef for getting Clomid prescribed so early, fat lot of good it's doing me in the sodding cupboard!
Been to the Dr's again today and guess what - I'm a medical marvel apparently! All very nice but not too helpful on the old baby making front. He basically doesn't know what is going on or what to tell me, so he needs to speak to an 'expert' on fertility and call me back.......darn it!

Hollybaby · 01/12/2004 17:13

No sign still but if I did OV then I'd only be 13DPO. From past experience I don't think anything would show up until after 14DPO at least, and then first thing in morning. But you're right - can't think of anything else today!

colinsmommy · 01/12/2004 17:31

Poor Hulaor HollyI'm impressed that you haven't tested yet. I looked here this morning (my time) to see if there was any news.

Hollybaby · 01/12/2004 18:03

Going to hold out for Friday or Saturday morning I think. Too busy to,morrow morning as it is my early start in order to get to the prison for 8.

mariella · 01/12/2004 18:08

well, best of luck hula, I'll be crossing my fingers for you! I bet you did ov, just wasn't detected by ff. here's hoping...

well this af after this bizarre 2 week of mine is SO heavy, aurgh! and wierd. I don't understand it. sigh.
