Here we go! Thread 14 for the nicest bunch of women on Mumsnet

Thread 13 was very joyful and very painful for me, but what it has shown me is that even old warhorses like me can get lucky, so there's no excuse for all you nubile young honies not to deliver the goods! Come on now, Mama Hester expects you to do your duty by your fellow ttc-ers

Get ready now, 1 - 2 - 3, GO!!!

Poor you - sounds like you are having a rough time of it.
Agree that the stress of waiting makes me very emotional so hard to tell if it is the ttc thoughts or the hormones which are making you upset!

Twiga · 24/11/2004 16:36

Hey, feeling less tearful, went into town to stop myself mopeing and to get some fresh air. Also dosed up on ibuprofen as feel quite sick and sore. Intend to do very little except eat chocolate and veg this evening.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}} to Bella and Moschops.

Twiga · 24/11/2004 16:42

Hester, thanks for your message and sorry that you're feeling down too. I'm finding situation with my friend so hard, everyone is excited and can't wait for them to get back from Oz, love my friend to bits, feel really selfish feeling the way I do. Chocolate's great isn't it?

Thanks everyone for your support x

Bella23 · 24/11/2004 16:44

It does help knowing that other people are going through the same thing. I usually share everything with my friends but just don't seem able to about this. The couple I have told just ask me all the time in front of people which I find really uncomfortable as I just don't want the world to know that secretly I think I am infertile!
I have become so irrational that people saying "it will happen when it is supposed to" make me want to scream!

Big hugs to all those who know what I mean!

hester · 24/11/2004 17:42

Bella, and add to that:

'You just have to relax'
'It will happen when you are least expecting it'
'I know a woman of 86 who had been trying to get pregnant for 6012 years and now she has triplets'
'You're lucky - you should enjoy your freedom while you have it!'
'You want children? You can babysit mine anytime!'
'Why don't you do IVF?'

Or, my particular favourite:

'Ah well, you know it's so much better to get them out of the way in your twenties' (so give me the magic pill to make me 29 again and I'll take it tomorrow! Oh you can't? Then why suggest that I'm in a position to choose?!')

jeddah · 24/11/2004 17:55

bella have you tried Gin!

hester · 24/11/2004 17:58

Ooh jeddah there you go again, corrupting young Bella just when her body should be a temple! And you a healthcare professional

Bella, I think you'll find that if you drink gin WITH chocolate the cocoa solids absorb the alcohol, allowing you to benefit from both the vitamin content of juniper berries and the iron out of the choc

Mine is going good....cd11 for me, nothing much happening here.

Hulababy · 24/11/2004 18:03

Hi all. Not much to report. No idea if I OVd this month, as FF says there isn't enough data to detemine - I suspect CD17. Now on CD23, so maybe 5 DPO.

munnzieb · 24/11/2004 18:03

give me a chance jeddah, i'm only on CD 20 six more to go and i'll start it off, have u had the big O yet?

munnzieb · 24/11/2004 18:05

i'm off to start some tea..... must stop coming straight onto the computer! lol. c u in a bit.

jeddah · 24/11/2004 18:07

sorry munnzieb!....thought you were up and running with it......I think I read your earlier posts and thought you were using it now.

Bella23 · 24/11/2004 18:08

Hester thanks for comments on what people say - what makes people so blunt and so lacking in feeling. I realise they have the best intentions but usually comes from people who just "fell" pregnant without even thinking about it. Hate the word "fell" - seems to me ttc is bloody hard work!

Have told DH about feeling a bit teary so we are going to go out for dinner and some wine .....well it is what people do without children isn't it ? Just do something on the spare of the moment !
Actually just read what i have written and must point out that I am not actually as bitter and twisted as i sound! xx

jeddah · 24/11/2004 18:10

No munnzieb haven't had the big 'O'....I assume you do mean ov??!!!

I usually ov cd17-22 but last month ov cd12-13....not not really sure when it will be....just waiting for the machine to tell me, cos like Hester I don't always get EWCM (Hester do you think we are a pair of dried up old knackers!!!!!!!!)

hester · 24/11/2004 18:12

jedds, I think we're a pair of raddled old doxies, our eggs pickled in gin. Lordy, will we give these fertile young things a turn when we appear at the ttc meet-up; they'll think we're someone's granny come to babysit, or the head cleaner

OP posts:
jeddah · 24/11/2004 18:14

bella hope you feel better after the meal and wine....sounds like just what you need!

By the way know what you mean about peoples comments on pregnancy....so irritating, one of my best friends has taken 1 month!!!!!!!! she said ....'it just happened'...people really don't realise how lucky they are!

jeddah · 24/11/2004 18:15

Hester LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!

Bella23 · 24/11/2004 18:15

Thanks am off now to open wine. Thanks for support. have decided to try and be more positive - new day tomorrow and all that !

munnzieb · 24/11/2004 18:48

hey hey jeddah, i don't have EWCM either at 22, (or well it's not so obvius as i'd like!) haven't had it properly since the first month of TTC.

munnzieb · 24/11/2004 20:54

my gos it's quiet, where r u girls?

BeckiF · 24/11/2004 20:56

My opk for the last 2 nights has been much darker, very almost a positive ... I have NO idea what's going on (if anything) within my body

Tania2 · 24/11/2004 20:58

Good morning girls. I havent read through the posts yet i was just wondering if anyone is still awake? Dont think i have oved this month yet but according to my cycle length i proberly already should have anyway only have bd once so if i have i have proberly wasted another month. Both of us are just not motivated this month. Havent had any ferns on my ov test but tend not to rely on that anyway but have had no other sign of ov. hope everyone is well i will try to read through but by the time i finish you all will proberly be sound asleep.
