@MrsRosaline it truly is, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy and I really hope my feelings towards the pregnancy change -I'm terrified I'll end up under perinatal at this rate. My mum had this when she was pregnant with me but in those days she just had to deal with it apparently! Plus she had my sister to look after! No idea how she managed that!

MrsRosaline · 20/12/2021 21:07

I think your feelings will change; I hope so. The longer you go on you will find strategies to cope. What do you mean end up in perinatal? I think my mum also struggled. Do you get bad motion sickness? I believe they are linked. @hoola23 I hope you feel better soon. Try not to think of the end game of 7 months and break it down into much smaller, manageable chunks.

hoola23 · 21/12/2021 10:54

@MrsRosaline I really hope so! Perinatal is the specialist mental health midwifery team
I never get travel sickness so I don't know why I've got it this bad.

MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 17:22

@hoola23 Well hopefully if you never had travel sickness it will get easier. I have awful motion sickness: I can't even do a swing at a playground! My friend felt sick most of the time and then at around 10-12 weeks she felt better. I understand that morning sickness could be linked with a higher IQ! Also, it's a sign of a very healthy pregnancy. Both of which I realise won't make you feel better. ☹️

hoola23 · 21/12/2021 17:55

@MrsRosaline as in my IQ?!? That defo can't be the case 🤣🤣🤣 I'm preying it gets easier at around 10 weeks otherwise I'm going to be such a miserable sod for the next 7 months!

OP posts:
MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 17:58

Haha no the baby's IQ @hoola23! Yeah it's grim, although in a very weird way I got used to it. And when DD was born I remember saying "So this is what it feels like to not feel sick...". It was like a miracle drug had been administered, or someone flicked a switch. The minute she was out the sickness ended!

hoola23 · 21/12/2021 18:55

@MrsRosaline oh in that case then that is a good thing! I hope it's not but I think that will be me! Only 33 weeks to go 🥺 I get fleeting moments when I feel semi normal and then it's back after 5 minutes but I really do enjoy those 5 mins! I can safely say I will only ever have one child after this!!

OP posts:
MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 18:58

Haha that's what I said too @hoola23! It does terrify me, but I remind myself every pregnancy is different! My friend's wife had awful HG; she was admitted to hospital like me multiple times. She's currently 16 weeks pregnant with no sickness whatsoever. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hang in there.. it gets better.

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:34

Ladies, not had any Spotting since yesterday morning and just got a little more. So I went checking and I reached up a bit and had a spot of blood about half the size of a 5p piece 😳😳

MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 19:41

@Aims1991 from everything I've read and discussions I had with my midwife when I was pregnant with DD you shouldn't worry about light spotting. You should only worry if you are bleeding heavily. Also, I would really suggest stop feeling around up there!!

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:45

@MrsRosaline Ano I don't know why I did. And all I've done is make my anxiety go through the roof. My OH is trying to say it's because I've been walking and rushed off my feet all day and literally just sat down. He said I've done too much 🙄

MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 19:49

I think it's more likely you've irritated your cervix, which is particularly softer and sensitive when pregnant! @Aims1991

Aims1991 · 21/12/2021 19:55

@MrsRosaline okay thanks. I'm trying to stay calm! I just panicked

MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 20:14

Stay calm @Aims1991. Only worry if you start bleeding properly.

newtolineofduty · 21/12/2021 22:09

@hoola23 so sorry to hear about your sickness and I totally empathise. Buy yourself some anti-sickness wrist bands (afew pounds on Amazon). They've really helped me. You will feel better soon enough just take each day as it comes. It's very rare to be poorly ALL the way through. Chances are you'll feel better in just afew weeks. Mine (both times) started to gradually improve around 10 weeks and pretty much back to normal energy wise by 14 weeks. Just count down each day and remind yourself you feel so awful because baby is getting everything it needs from you and that's amazing xxx

MrsRosaline · 21/12/2021 22:13

Good advice @newtolineofduty. I also saw these @hoola23 and I wonder if they work. DH thinks it's a fad/scam but they do seem to have good reviews... www.reliefband.com/

newtolineofduty · 21/12/2021 22:22

@hoola23 these are what I have-£4! X

Ovulation/TTC thread 4!
hoola23 · 22/12/2021 08:16

@newtolineofduty fingers crossed!! I got those bands last week and haven't taken them off yet! I'm not sure they help but I'm too scared to take them off to see what I feel like without them!!

I had some bleeding this morning when I wiped. It was a very pale pink and then did a check up there abs there was lots off thick dark brown blood mixed with cm. do you think that's normal? I still feel bloody awful so I guess that's something to hold on to

OP posts:
newtolineofduty · 22/12/2021 09:24

@hoola23 totally normal hun!!!! Do you have your scan tomo? Honestly just hold on to the fact it WILL pass. For those first couple of months I was thinking 'I can't believe I've spent so long wanting to be pregnant and actually it's just really awful!' X and it really is but just take time off, lie down, and in afew weeks it will be better. Just try and drink plenty and take your vitamins and hopefully the tablets will help xxx

hoola23 · 22/12/2021 10:20

@newtolineofduty ok thanks! I went for my booster yesterday and they gave me the flu jab at the same time so to add to my already weakened state I now have a dead arm and flu like symptoms so I am just a bundle of fun!🤣 called in sick and lying in bed all day
Yeah have my scan tomo afternoon so hopefully it will let me know either way if this pregnancy is viable or not!

OP posts:
Aims1991 · 22/12/2021 10:57

@hoola23 I'm having some spotting too and I'm a nervous wreck. I go to toilet every minutes paranoid to wipe and see what's there. My OH told to totally forget about and it'll pass in time. I hate how men are so calm about these things.

hoola23 · 22/12/2021 11:23

@Aims1991 oh no! But I guess it shows how common it is I guess! Mine seems to have stopped for now. I try not to panic but it's hard isn't it.

OP posts:
Aims1991 · 22/12/2021 11:55

@hoola23 Ano just makes you realise. Mines isn't every time I'm at toilet but I wish I would just stop

plantbasedlondoner · 22/12/2021 13:15

@hoola23 so sorry you're feeling so nauseous, it sounds awful 😔 please take care and best of luck for the scan today. Hopefully that will set your mind at ease.

I had a bout of omicron but have come out of isolation in time for Christmas. Managed to not get Covid for 2 years so not surprising I didn't escape it this time! It was like a terrible cold with fatigue (so tired I found it hard to stand and make a cuppa) and still have a cough but am ok otherwise. The worst bit was the night sweats - was just glad I'm not premenopausal tbh! At the end of isolation, I got my period and it was so painful probably also worsened by the fact I hadn't moved my body in 10 days- what a present! But now feeling quite cheerful that I'm onto the next cycle 🤞🏻

Hope everyone else is doing ok - so many early pregnancies now on this thread!

hoola23 · 22/12/2021 14:56

Bleeding has turned to bright red blood now so pretty sure it's gone now. I have honestly never felt so unwell, I'm shaking and shivering and have constant vomiting and diarrhoea now - could that be related to a miscarriage?
