@CycleGirl20 she doesn't want to, just wants to wait for three months and see if it works first because she thinks it's old age preventing me rather than the adeno and suspected endo.
Wow that's amazing that 15 survived!! 🤞🏻 everything goes ok

@Marvellouslymadmum that sucks. It sounds like delays aren't what you need.

We're really happy! 15 is good. I guess the main drop off it between fertilisation and day 5

thislittlebird · 11/11/2021 11:58

@CycleGirl20 15/17 is an amazing result! Great news. That sounds like a sensible dose. Hopefully you can avoid OHSS. I’ll be on 150 gonal f. Initially she wanted to put me on max doses because of my age (38.5) which is mental, my AMH has been 31 and 36 when tested. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when she referred to her age vs dose spreadsheet and suggested it.

We didn’t dtd yesterday which was the day I think I ovulated. But we did the day before and will when DH gets home today. It’s very all frustrating. I start progesterone tonight which I don’t like because it’s annoying to have to use it every day, but I’m lucky I don’t have any side effects.

@Marvellouslymadmum ah ok, I guess both options have some merits. Fingers crossed.

Theawkwardblonde · 11/11/2021 14:44

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm doing okay thanks. Just under 7 weeks now till due date so definitely in full waddle mode 🤦🏼‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/11/2021 14:56

@CycleGirl20 yeah I'd rather not have delays but at the same time if this clomid works I'll be happy!

@thislittlebird that's exactly it! Either way there's pluses and minuses 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Theawkwardblonde aww that's great to hear! Glad things are all going well for you, that's fine so quick!!

@thislittlebird we are quite similar in terms of AMH and my DH has slightly questionable sperm. Luckily, we didn't need Icsi for our 15/17 fertilisation! I was surprised given all but 4% of DH's sperm have wonky heads. Maybe that's just how they look! Are your current meds what you will take when you start IVF or are you taking them with letrozole at the moment?

crazycatlady1981 · 11/11/2021 19:39

@CycleGirl20 that’s an amazing result!! 15 out of 17!! 🎉 Do you get another update before transfer day? Fingers crossed for a lovely strong embryo on day 5!

We’ve just been given the costs for our next round of ivf!! 😣 The ivf cost was more than I thought but the drugs much less so overall will be around £6k which is what we estimated. Trying to weigh up whether to pay for a multiple round or not which includes all the frozen transfers, but seeing as we only got one frostie last time and we’re planning to transfer two embryos if we get them, then it’s probably not worthwhile 🤔
On the plus side, DH is well up for lots of dtd this month if it potentially might save us £6k 😬

paintfairy · 12/11/2021 10:20

@becarefuloutthere that leggings review?! Wtf? 🤣 I want some!

becarefuloutthere · 12/11/2021 11:53

@paintfairy I mean, what's not to like right 😂 can't say fairer than that glowing review 😆

MIW01 · 12/11/2021 14:21

Thank you so much for tagging me @Marvellouslymadmum

Hello everyone, so sorry for my prolonged silence, I've had a bit of a MH breakdown but also hopefully now a breakthrough but I feel like I should just keep my distance from all things fertility related until January when we plan to have another round of IVF. Unless we get a miracle n the meantime!

I wish you all well with your journeys and I know its a bit early but a very Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy (hopefully) New Year! The last 2 have been pretty fing sht tbh so I'm of the mindset that things will be better.

CycleGirl20 · 13/11/2021 07:50

@MIW01 I totally understand not wanting to come on these forums sometimes. You just have to do what you need to at these times. I often have to go AWOL or else I get focused on little else but making a baby.

@crazycatlady1981 I can't believe how much the costs add up (or how much of an incentive trying to avoid the extra £££ are to DH 🤣 ). I went private and my clinic said it was 4,500 Inc meds. But then you want leftovers frozen? Or anything cultivated for longer than just past fertilization? That's extra. I thought about going for a multi cycle package but with this being our first cycle and me having higher amh I thought best to see how it goes. It's day 3 past EC today and I'm hoping I don't get called in for an emergency transfer, or worse.

thislittlebird · 13/11/2021 07:56

@MIW01 that sounds like a great idea to keep away and look after yourself. It can be really hard coming onto these forums at certain times. Best of luck for January, hopefully you’ll make good progress for then.

thislittlebird · 13/11/2021 08:03

@CycleGirl20 I’ll be on 150 gonal f when I start my nhs round, I’m on Letrozole and Ovidrelle this cycle. If the sperm managed to fertilise 15 without ICSI then they’re likely in good shape. I don’t think our sluggish swimmers will ever be allowed to roam free in the Petri dish 🧫

So, I got an email from Guys. They want to schedule my treatment for Jan/Feb. My January period is scheduled for around the 26th so far, which should line up. It feels quite scary now it feels like a real thing that’s happening, but it’s nice to know we’re making progress after all this time.

CycleGirl20 · 13/11/2021 08:35

@thislittlebird that's good news. Things are moving! 150 gonal f sounds similar I think. I thought I was getting OHSS but better this morning.

My DH has quite low morphology so I was surprised. Between 2-4%. His count is decent and motility normal so I wondered if washing the sperm helped get the wonky ones out of the way. All of the mature eggs fertilized, which I was very surprised about!

kerrym87 · 13/11/2021 10:50

Great news for @thislittlebird @CycleGirl20 we just did a soern freeze which was actually quite good apparently (they didn't specify parameters) and a freeze thaw test which was fine. Bit sobering though as hubby was asked if he wanted to consent for me to use his sperm if he died or was incapacitated....😳😫 so sobering.
Im pissed off too as they've booked me in for ivf Jan with period being due mid Jan.....its never been due around then but end of months and they're a little irregular. Arranged shifts and annual leave around it (shifts done 2 months in advance) yet the nurse I spoke to about using norethisterone ( which the clinic has given me already plus asked gp to prescribe) was a right arse and said we can't do anything about it yet until December period, hadbt even listened to what i was ringing about in voice message I left. Wants me to ring December period in Which will be when they're likely shut as it'll be a Bank Holiday or between Xmas and New year .......so stressed and haven't even started yet!

thislittlebird · 13/11/2021 14:00

@CycleGirl20 good news you aren’t getting OHSS by the sounds of it. When we saw the urologist he basically said morphology was the last thing they worry about, because as long as they can get there it’s usually fine which doesn’t help us as DH has good morphology and terrible motility.

@kerrym87 we had to consent to that too and I said well, yeah. If you die I still want us to have a child, which sounds weird but it’s true right now :/

Have they got your cycle dates wrong in jan? Or they’re just not listening to your request for norethisterone? Our cycles sound like they’re the same time roughly, I had to email mine over to Guys today.

CycleGirl20 · 13/11/2021 14:44

@thislittlebird I thought it was low morphology your dh has. That makes more sense. My DH's all have wonky heads. It said on one of the reports. Seems that might just be how his swimmers look 😂

kerrym87 · 13/11/2021 14:51

@thislittlebird I told them my period in September and that they were a little irregular, mostly 31-35 but had a random 50 day one. When secretary rang me she was looking at space in clinic too but I couldn't get my head round when periods due 3 months ahead with variability in cycle length so didn't twig. I just know that my cycle will not sync with the slot they have indicated and with the job I do which is stressful I want to ensure I am doing the least I can around the treatment. I've already got norethisterone for this purpose they just aren't bothering to tell me when to use it and we'll have been ttc for 2.5 years by that point, I think they'll have to manipulate at least dec period. Being a nurse this lack of plan when it's scheduled in is just so stressful when they're gona dictate everything else. Just don't want to be pushed back further cos they can't organise themselves....

paintfairy · 13/11/2021 17:31

@MIW01 completely get that. Sometimes it's best not to consume yourself with it. I hope you get a great Christmas!
@thislittlebird excellent news!

crazycatlady1981 · 14/11/2021 19:14

@MIW01 totally understand the break from here! Hope you are doing ok! I’m doing another round in January too! Hope you have a lovely Christmas and maybe see you back here in the new year!

@CycleGirl20 is it tomorrow that you hear about your embryos?? Wishing you lots of luck!🤞🏻

@thislittlebird excellent news on the ivf start date!

@paintfairy how are you doing in the tww? Is otd this week?

CycleGirl20 · 14/11/2021 19:24

@crazycatlady1981 tomorrow should be transfer day! I could have gotten a day 3 update but I didn't phone in as I figured no news was good news! Currently just eating the contents of the house due to progesterone munchies 😬

crazycatlady1981 · 14/11/2021 20:18

@CycleGirl20 yay! So excited for you! 💕 Let us know how it all goes tomorrow! Enjoy your feast!! 😋 x

kerrym87 · 15/11/2021 14:02

@CycleGirl20 didn't know when it is but good luck for transfer!

Juno231 · 15/11/2021 14:03

@CycleGirl20 omg let us know how it's gone!!

CycleGirl20 · 15/11/2021 14:08

I just had my transfer. I'm really confused about how it went. Apparently I had 2 blastocysts from the 5 they took to day 5 (10 frozen fertilized eggs because I live abroad and that's how it works here). The blastocysts were 1bb & 2bc. I didn't even know they could be lower than a 3! The embryologist said the 1bb was best and was on it's way to being a 4bb(???) but they wanted to put it back earlier. Now I'm very confused. I think a 4bb would be ok quality (35% success rates) but a 1bb???
