@Juno231, @thislittlebird, could you delay your next period so it will have the knock on effect of delaying the Christmas one? I took the norethisterone to delay the period before the one due on my wedding day and ended up getting pregnant the next cycle. No idea if that contributed but worth a try if it helps shift your ivf dates also

thislittlebird · 09/11/2021 10:02

@Motherofkittens28 I’ve booked a holiday now though (I didn’t think this through, clearly), so even if they said I can start meds end of December I would be away for egg collection. I’m just assuming it’ll be a late Jan start.

paintfairy · 09/11/2021 10:16

@kerrym87 I suppose re the progesterone it depends why you are using it and when?
I had it for iui and I had really high progesterone levels the first round because of more eggs. Round 2 there were 2 eggs and round 3 there was only 1 and I didn't really get massive side effects that time. Having spoke to the ivf consultant though- I am taking 200mg 3x a day pessary wise but I had 12 eggs collected for ivf. So he said you've got all the progesterone from those 12 eggs in your system as well. So obviously that's going to be a hell of a lot and therefore more likely to produce side effects I guess?

Sunbird24 · 09/11/2021 10:42

AF has arrived! Grin

paintfairy · 09/11/2021 12:43

@Sunbird24 🥳

Juno231 · 09/11/2021 13:00

@Motherofkittens28 that is an idea! (Sorry for not answering to the others that suggestef it too) how would I go about getting it though? Ask the clinic or via gp? I imagine the latter wouldn't be keen to help.

paintfairy · 09/11/2021 13:11

@Juno231 GP usually. Just say there's some event you need to delay it s few days for. Holiday, wedding, whatever. Think even the nurses can give it you.

Motherofkittens28 · 09/11/2021 17:34

@Juno231 I just ordered it from superdrug I think

crazycatlady1981 · 09/11/2021 18:06

@Sunbird24 Yay! Glad she didn’t make you wait too long!! 🥳
I’ve also got af today, cramping all morning but didn’t actually start bleeding until 3pm so I guess that means day 1 is tomorrow!

thislittlebird · 09/11/2021 19:07

Good news! @Sunbird24

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/11/2021 19:31

@becarefuloutthere yes I will definitely scream and shout!! (I don't always get in here every day so thought I'd better make a new thread before the old one filled up)

@thislittlebird my gp sent a letter to the consultant recommending a lap then the consultant rang me but said she wants be to carry on with the clomid first and review after

@Sunbird24 glad af showed up so you can get started!

I think I lost a load of context from the end of the last thread.

Glad to hear about AF @Sunbird24!

I just had my EC. 17 collected. Call tomorrow to find out how many fertilized and so on. I keep seeing wildly different rates from people with ~17 from getting 5-6 blastocyst to only 1 or even 0. Is this my TWW starting now or do I need to wait for transfer?

DH is away on the transfer day because I'm 2 days late for pick up (they said my body was taking its time, probably because it was brewing a fair few follicles). I'd imagined looking into eachother's eyes over a photo of our embryo. Now I'm gonna be getting taxis alone!

thislittlebird · 10/11/2021 14:28

@CycleGirl20 17 is good. You’re quite similar to me, what drugs and dose were you on? Are they doing a fresh transfer or freeze all? I think your TWW is post transfer.

@Marvellouslymadmum seems like the other way round would make more sense but ok!

paintfairy · 10/11/2021 14:34

@CycleGirl20 tww starts after transfer.
Can your OH not change it? The transfer was the only thing mine felt part of and he seemed a lot more interested after seeing it and understanding what goes on. He found it really fascinating.

CycleGirl20 · 10/11/2021 14:48

@thislittlebird I had 13 days of Ovaleap 150(measurement I'm not sure of, but 150 of whatever it's measured in!). Then I had cetrotide from cycle day 6 to day 14. Then trigger day 14, pick up day 16. Hopefully we'll do a day 5 transfer. I currently don't have OHSS but I'm in the risk group so we'll see.

@paintfairy I'm not sure. He's already cancelled it once because my EC was day 16, not 12 or 14. I kinda feel if he'd not glazed over when I tried to explain what the important days would be he'd not have had the issue of rescheduling or missing things! I guess it's all a bit abstract when it's not you who's sticking needles in.

@Marvellouslymadmum sorry I missed a bit on the last thread, but have you found out what your recovery time would be from a lap? It might effect when you would prefer to have it/push to have it if you find that out. And maybe there is no recovery time on some types of lap

paintfairy · 10/11/2021 18:06

@CycleGirl20 yeah it's really hard to plan isn't it. DH kept asking me and I was like- it really doesn't work like that? Just don't plan anything! But I think it would be a massive shame to miss it, especially if its the one that works.

I've got bad cramps again. If implantation cramps feel like this then no one would need pregnancy tests, as you'd just know. 🤣 So I doubt it's that? But not pleasant all the same. 😖

Juno231 · 10/11/2021 20:27

@paintfairy I think @becarefuloutthere had a lot of cramps and assumed she was out but clearly wasn't so 🤞

paintfairy · 10/11/2021 21:02

@Juno231 its so hard to tell. I think the progesterone can cause them. Its like torture. 😫

Annny27 · 10/11/2021 21:40

Whoops didn't realise we had moved over to here! Haha

Managed to convince the husband to dtd 🤣🤣 told him that next time please don't act like a child who has been told he has to do homework tonight 🙈🙈🙈

@paintfairy how are you holding out with symptom spotting?

Annny27 · 10/11/2021 22:01

@juno231 my stitches seem to be following yours in terms of holding on for dear life haha! 3 weeks later and still all there haha

becarefuloutthere · 10/11/2021 22:10

@Juno231 correct! It was implantation for me but wouldn't want to get anyone's hopes up as I know progesterone can cause them too. It's a hellish tww! I feel for you @paintfairy
@Annny27 good on ya 💪

paintfairy · 10/11/2021 22:19

@becarefuloutthere yeah it literally seems like some people have loads of symptoms, yet it could go either way, or they have none, and it still could go either way!
I'm hating the progesterone. I'm guessing my own bodies was much higher with an the eggs, so with the pessaries it's just evil. The only benefit to the ivf not working is that you'll at least get to stop them!
The next week will be very stressful I think. 😫

Theawkwardblonde · 10/11/2021 23:05

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks for the tag on the new thread!
As always I'm still following you all and hoping to see lots of BFPs on this thread! Stay strong everyone x

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/11/2021 10:23

@CycleGirl20 that's great that they got 17 eggs for you! Not so great that your partner won't be around for transfer though, you have to keep him informed on the phone!

Recovery time from a lap is just a couple of weeks but the issue is the wait time for one is very long.

@thislittlebird it would make more sense but I think it's because the wait for a lap is long so they want to do clomid while I still have eggs I think 😳

@Annny27 glad you managed to get him to txt it's frustrating when they decide they don't want to isn't it?!

@Theawkwardblonde thank you, hope you're doing ok?

OP posts:
CycleGirl20 · 11/11/2021 10:47

@Marvellouslymadmum can they put you on the wait list whilst you continue clomid? I'm sure you've thought of that already but seems to make the most sense.

@Annny27 I had to give my DH a talking to over dtd too. On top of infertility, the last thing I wanted was rejection! I bet he felt really sexy too with me trying to get him into bed all the time. When I explained this to him, he started trying more.

15 of our 17 eggs fertilized!! We're planning a day 5 transfer so hopefully a few make it 🤞. They said it was a really good result
