Just wondering how others have felt.... so heard sometimes after ivf it improves general fertility but I had thought we need some time to have some normality and no pressure after this ivf cycle as it didn't happen in 2 years by ourselves. It threw me when (perhaps tmi!) Me and hubby had some time together and I got normal not fertility friendly lube and he was surprised....then got me thinking as coming up to ovulation . I just still feel unwell, not back to myself yet and been such a busy week with work but then have worry about missing the window again. Was ok just letting ttc go until hubby said that passing comment. So conflicted!

Motherofkittens28 · 16/03/2022 20:33

@kerrym87 after our second failed round we stopped actively ttc and were taking 3 months off before a next round. That felt right to me as I was just broken after 2 years ttc. You can't switch your head off completely though, so I was still aware of when I was likely to be ovulating and sometimes it was hard to let that day pass.

thislittlebird · 19/03/2022 11:32

Did anyone here do a natural frozen transfer? I’m trying to work out how I can do this when I don’t really get positive ovulation strips very often. Could try the clear blue ones that give you LH rises. I’m keen to avoid oestrogen, I have hormonal migraines and thrush off and on and off and on again since the ivf cycle.

Sunbird24 · 19/03/2022 11:37

All my FETs have been natural @thislittlebird, I used the Femometer strips and the app as I’ve no idea about temps etc

Sunbird24 · 19/03/2022 11:47

This was my most recent attempt, had the transfer on Nov 26th. I only use the free version of the app but it seems to be enough.

thislittlebird · 19/03/2022 12:38

@Sunbird24 are they the normal ones? I don’t often get positives but I’m fairly sure I do ovulate. It’s confusing lol. I think I might have to try the clear blue ones. Do they just need to prove you’ve ovulated?

I hope you’re procedure went ok, I haven’t been on much lately while waiting for FET.

Sunbird24 · 19/03/2022 14:00

@thislittlebird think so, I got them on Amazon?

Procedure was ok thank you, they found a bit more than they’d seen on the scan but couldn’t get everything out - they can’t have a third go because of the risk of doing damage but they think they got enough that my body can deal with the rest on its own. I’m not trying again until June because I’m starting a new job, so got some time to get back on track.

thislittlebird · 19/03/2022 19:45

@Sunbird24 that’s good, the new job will be distracting too!

I’m going to order the clear blue ones because I’ll get an oestrogen and LH rise on those.

CycleGirl20 · 21/03/2022 19:03

@becarefuloutthere how are you getting on? I wondered if you had any tips or anything that helped you get your head around actually being pregnant and preparing for the little one? It never occurred to me when TTC and I never actually thought it would happen for us once we'd passed about 6 months. Then when I did get pregnant I expected something to go wrong, in spite of a strong heart rate until my 18 week scan. Now at 20+ weeks and thinking I might actually have a baby at some point. Still putting off buying things. I reckon 30+ will be when I do that 😅. Send DH to buy nappies and baby clothes whilst I'm giving birth. I'm imagining to the point of taking a few years to finally believe it!

becarefuloutthere · 22/03/2022 08:47

@CycleGirl20 bless you, it is hard to get your head around isn't it! A bit like you, I used the milestones of the scans to get me through it and to make me believe it was real. We were also moving to a house from a flat so I said to myself you can buy things once you're in the house. We had a nursery to decorate so that also helped make it feel real. Just take all your reassurance in the scans and soon you'll feel movement and that helped make it feel real. Look at your growing belly, talk to it etc, and you'll soon settle into it. Good luck! 😘

CycleGirl20 · 22/03/2022 08:49

Thanks @becarefuloutthere. How are you getting on?

becarefuloutthere · 22/03/2022 10:18

@CycleGirl20 oh yeah whoops, forgot to answer that part 😂 good thank you! Takes getting used to and getting used to each other as I'm breastfeeding but we're getting there. They keep you on your toes as every time you think you know them, they do something different 😅 so very much a learning curve but all good still!

CycleGirl20 · 22/03/2022 10:38

Awe glad you're both doing well though ❤️

becarefuloutthere · 22/03/2022 10:54

@CycleGirl20 thank you 😊 are you finding out the sex? That might help you feel like it's more real too! It helped me to say she etc.

CycleGirl20 · 22/03/2022 10:57

Hopefully on Friday. We're pretty sure it's a girl as they thought so at the previous two scans but couldn't confirm too well. I keep saying she in my head now.

becarefuloutthere · 22/03/2022 11:57

@CycleGirl20 good luck, keep us posted!

Sunbird24 · 27/03/2022 14:59

Hey fellow donkeys, just checking with Flowers for you all as I know today may be tough for some

kerrym87 · 29/03/2022 09:57

@Sunbird24 how thoughtful! Really thinking of you, must be hard to have got where you did, sending lots of hugs to you and everyone. We've got hospital appt with consultant to see what went wrong what we do next today so its hitting home again. Taken almost almost a month to feel I'm not only just treading water but still not back to normal. Working with babies at work is harder now in a way it wasn't before 😔

Sunbird24 · 29/03/2022 11:43

I really hope your appointment gives you some answers and some hope @kerrym87.

Somatronic · 29/03/2022 15:24

@Sunbird24 That was a lovely message on Mother's Day. To be honest, it never occurred to me to be sad to feel anything really on Mother's Day until I woke up to a message from my SIL saying "it'll be you next year" and it really shook me - I don't know why.

@kerrym87 I hope your appointment goes well.

I'm just waiting around for my period so that I can finally start stims. Should be here on Thursday or Friday. Hope everyone's doing OK.

kerrym87 · 29/03/2022 18:42

@Sunbird24 head consultant saw us and I think he's going to do all of my care now as he put embryo back only but wanted to do things a little different and monitor closely. Hubby's sperm has improved alot and if we can get his count up they're going to do some icsi and some bog standard ivf- due to my pcos my eggs are weirdly tougher around the outside but at the same time fragile so the icsi can damage them. Turns out it wasn't the best cycle as didn't have many follicles active at the start so body was slow to pick up but responded quite well and the blastocyst was a reasonable quality I think a 4bc, was originally a slow burner but then was only one that kept dividing. Can start another cycle when we can get it the books but due to work etc likely June ish and I'm still feeling a bit fragile so that time will be helpful. Going to give a shot of steroid in uterus when implant this time due to family and own immune illness history (pcos, ibs, ME). Hubby felt it was a very got appt but I felt quite upset as it brought stress back trying to arrange it last time with work and that my eggs aren't great. Also worried I arrange it then they scan and say no not this cycle come back in a month!

Sunbird24 · 30/03/2022 19:14

@kerrym87 I’ll be trying again in June too I think, fingers crossed for us both!

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/03/2022 22:26

Hi all hope you're ok, I'm just sitting here with not much to report - I turned 43 on Monday and I'm currently cd34 and I think I'm about to ovulate 🥳 another long cycle. I've started kicking up my weight loss program with healthy eating and exercise but now I have tonsillitis 😑 so it's gone out the window for at least a few days. I've decided my dodgy cycles could be due to my weight or the endo/adeno or possibly pcos. Wondering if I should get my doc to repeat tests as it's been a year and see what's going on now.

Hope you're all doing ok?

Sunbird24 · 31/03/2022 23:12

@Marvellouslymadmum happy belated birthday! 🎂 sorry about the tonsillitis, I had mine out 10 years ago, was horrendous but worth it… I’d definitely ask whether it’s worth repeating any tests, worst that can happen is they say no.

Longbin · 01/04/2022 18:51

Hi all, hoping someone can help me!

I was ttc my first for years, had successful IVF. Tried IVF for my second which ended in a MMC last month.

Thought I’d try naturally for 2 months before starting IVF again.

I believe I have ovulated this month as I had raised progesterone on a Mira test on day 21, but it dropped today and LH rose from under 1 to 5. Estrogen dropped yesterday and rose again today. Could this be implantation or is my cycle just all over the place?!
