@kerrym87 how do you find the phone service? Assuming yours is also on the phone. I have been referred but feel like it’ll be awkward over the phone.

kerrym87 · 22/02/2022 11:08

@thislittlebird good actually as you can be dressed how you like, Saturday I was in my pj's snuggled in bed for my 9am call as I felt safest there! It's a familiar place rather than a room somewhere and then you don't have to pull yourself together straight away when you finish the session. I've done other therapy via teams during covid it is only strange initially

thislittlebird · 22/02/2022 16:38

@kerrym87 good point! They’re trying to book me in for early April, it’s a long time and never when I feel like it would be most needed but hopefully will help.

AF came today, so that’s good. Was wondering how long this and the next cycle might be.

Annny27 · 23/02/2022 07:41

@thislittlebird will you fET be this cycle or next?

@kerrym87 hopefully the bleeding starts soon and you can emotionally move on 💗
Do you have any more nhs rounds or is it on to private now? Our area only offers 1

@Marvellouslymadmum how are you feeling and do you have another clomid round?

@crazycatlady1981 how are you feeling? 🥰🥰

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/02/2022 09:50

@Annny27 feeling like this round although I ovulated still hasn't worked as temp dropped today and af due tomorrow/Friday which is such bad timing with oh's birthday tomorrow! They're upping my dose to 100mg for 3 more rounds though.

How are you feeling?

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 23/02/2022 10:03

@Annny27 it’s next cycle! But at least I’m in the countdown to call the clinic again now, feels like something tangible, as long as AF plays ball.

@Marvellouslymadmum glad that they’re giving you more of it, it’s no skin off their nose to do that since it’s cheap.

kerrym87 · 23/02/2022 11:05

@Annny27 I am really lucky as we get 3 NHS rounds and the have some of best outcomes in England, however its 3-4 months for fet after trying a fresh round and 6 months til next fresh cycle. We'd have to rely on loan or in laws (lots of money offered if we need it) but would rather not do that. Don't think we want to go for many years and untold cycles if it's unlikely to work, would be torture.
What situation are you in? Im sorry I forget so much especially with hormones it just doesn't stay in my head x

Annny27 · 23/02/2022 11:12

@thislittlebird not too long to wait then!

@marvellouslymadmum promissing that you did ovulate though 🙏🙏

@kerrym87 that's lucky although 6 months wait is depressing! But then again we are used to waiting with this journey

I am currently 4 weeks 5 days pregnant (natural conception a few months after endometriosis surgery, 2.5 years overall) so keeping my fingers crossed that this is my time 🤞🤞🤞

kerrym87 · 23/02/2022 13:39

@Annny27 that's great! Have you found out quite recently as I seem to have completely missed that. We're at same point in hoping we may get a post ivf miracle but with hubby's bong eyed swimmers I'm not holding out any hope!

This period is excruciating too after the meds they gave me to give me the world's thickest feather bed of a lining!😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/02/2022 20:25

@thislittlebird yes exactly! The secretary didn't phone back today so I'll try giving her a call tomorrow

@Annny27 that's amazing! And proves my theory that They really should get my lap done then I may have more chance!!!

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 23/02/2022 22:12

@Annny27 congratulations 🥳 fabulous news! I believe my lap helped me get pregnant too, I'm glad I had it before ivf started! We got to try one cycle naturally and then it was the ivf.

Annny27 · 24/02/2022 10:05

@becarefuloutthere yep helps clean everything out I think haha! Are you due soon?

@marvellouslymadmum can you push them and let them know you are having pain?

@kerrymy87 found out about 10days ago, taking each day as it comes! You have had a lap too havent you? My DH sperm is okay but not great, think it has ranged from 2 - 6 % morphology, pretty okay motility and pretty average (lower end) of count

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/02/2022 12:57

@Annny27 I've done all that and my gp wrote a letter to the consultant about it too but they want to carry on with the clomid first then try other things which I feel is the wrong way round

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 24/02/2022 13:33

@Annny27 absolutely it does! Yeah I'm 2 days overdue now.
@Marvellouslymadmum how much longer on the clomid or don't you know yet?

crazycatlady1981 · 24/02/2022 14:51

@Annny27 glad to hear things are going well with you!
I’ve had some family here for a few days to help keep me distracted, although I feel exhausted now! 4dp5dt and I’m not feeling overly hopeful at the moment! Had lots of cramping and sore boobs but that could just be from the meds! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Only time will tell! I’ll test next week sometime! x

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/02/2022 23:07

@becarefuloutthere ooh due anyway then! 🤞🏻 it starts soon for you. I'm being given another 3 months on 100mg this time

@crazycatlady1981 everything crossed for you!

OP posts:
kerrym87 · 25/02/2022 08:49

@Annny27 yeah I did and ovarian lasering last April. I think between me and my hubby odds are against us but reading up, blasts arresting day 3 and 4 is a sperm issue....so although morphology and motility now normal count was only 6 mil, highest has been 13 mil. He's very overweight and has a sedentary job so with research I think heat may be damaging to sperm in a way you can't physically see. Suggested airy undies and regular walking around but he said he really doesn't want a standing desk 😂 I'm getting the minute violin out as we speak....

Motherofkittens28 · 25/02/2022 14:27

@kerrym87 I've heard quite a lot about a semen quality consultant on another group. If it would be of interest to you I could look up his name?

kerrym87 · 25/02/2022 14:53

@Motherofkittens28 yes please. Feel so low and crappy at moment any extra info would be great x

Motherofkittens28 · 25/02/2022 15:34

@kerrym87 jonathanramsay.co.uk/ people absolutely rave about him

thislittlebird · 25/02/2022 16:02

@kerrym87 @Motherofkittens28 we saw Mr Ramsay and he ordered a dna fragmentation test on DH back in July, amongst others. Obviously I can’t be sure if it’s why we had good fertilisation but dh had 0% high fragmentation despite his low motility and based on that he recommended we could start icsi rather than need further treatment ahead of icsi. He was good, really nice guy too.

kerrym87 · 25/02/2022 18:47

@thislittlebird we just had icsi this last round. I'll have a look at Dr Ramsey

thislittlebird · 25/02/2022 18:57

@kerrym87 I think you said there could be a wait before your next round? If that’s right then it would be a good use of the time maybe. See Mr Ramsay and see if he can put a plan in place/recommendations for your husband while you wait.

kerrym87 · 26/02/2022 06:29

Anyone know how much Dr Ramsey is as he's down south which is 3.5 to 5 hours away depending on traffic so we'd have to travel down multiple times for seven analyses I'm guessing and stay with relatives in St Neots or Cambridge or get a hotel. If he can offer something we can't get up here it's worth doing but it's going to be quite difficult to manage as hubby works mon-fri and already taking time off for the ivf cycles x

thislittlebird · 26/02/2022 09:32

@kerrym87 I don’t think he offers anything different to other urologists/Andrologists, so you can probably find one nearer to you. The tests and consultation were about £900. He gives you a form to get the tests same day at a place nearby.
