@CycleGirl20 I feel better today and kinda annoyed I didn’t go ahead if I’m honest but who knows how I would have felt if we had and it had worked. I’m on prednisolone and amoxicillin which are probably making me feel better!

CycleGirl20 · 17/02/2022 17:39

It's a really tough decision. I went ahead with a fresh cycle after my 17 collected because I didn't even look into it. I remember them saying my ovaries were pretty swollen and I had some pain. Luckily nothing happened. I'm not sure if it was more of a risk than I'd known or not! It doesn't make much difference to do fresh or frozen anyway. It's more important to look after yourself.

If you're feeling ok then hopefully you can take some respite. We had to take a break after I had minor surgery last year and I had a great time enjoying wine and not focusing on conception. Depends how you feel really though at the time.

thislittlebird · 17/02/2022 17:44

@CycleGirl20 I really would like to relax a bit and shed a few pounds in this gap, if I can. The weather is changing, I gained more weight during stims because I ate so much protein (normally mostly veggie). I would very much like to have some nice wine, enjoy my newly decorated house and update the curtains and cushions etc.

I’d also like to book a hot holiday since we now know we’ve got 6-8 (assuming they don’t let you do FET back to back months and obviously any losses will throw a spanner in the works) months before we have to look at another private fresh cycle.

Marvellouslymadmum · 17/02/2022 21:33

@Motherofkittens28 aww not long at all then, wish you the best of luck with it all, and you too @becarefuloutthere xx

@thislittlebird brilliant news about the blasts!

@CycleGirl20 glad to hear you're doing well.

@kerrym87 thinking of you 💙 have you tested?

kerrym87 · 19/02/2022 10:37

@Annny27 negative, even tried one 2.5x more sensitive that one clinic gave me. no bleed retest Monday if still neg blood test at clinic, likely not worked. Devastated as got no frosties after the other 6 stopped growing.
Rang in sick to work as due in Sunday (sister in charge of a baby unit) and manager was a not exactly understanding but won't say too much on a public forum, let's just say she doesn't understand and couldn't get why I wouldn't be in as this is basically just like trying for a baby then your period coming.
Just feel this extra few days is just prolonging the agony as the amount of oestrogen and progesterone I'm on I doubt I'd be able to bleed.

thislittlebird · 19/02/2022 10:58

@kerrym87 ah, I’m so sorry to hear this. And it really sucks that work aren’t being understanding when your job would make this hard on a good day. How many days past transfer are you now?

Annny27 · 19/02/2022 11:52

@kerrym87 so sorry lovely that really does suck :(

A failed transfer is a type of miscarriage so thats so rubbish that your boss hasn't understood:( you are a trooper for doing your job whilst battling infertility xxx

kerrym87 · 19/02/2022 12:13

@thislittlebird I'm 10dp5dt, 15 days since ec.

crazycatlady1981 · 19/02/2022 12:25

I’m so sorry @kerrym87 that’s awful that your boss doesn’t seem to care or understand why you wouldn’t want to be in work after what you’ve been through! It must be a tough job at the best of times when you’ve got infertility. Sending a big hug 💕

paintfairy · 19/02/2022 13:27

@kerrym87 I'm sorry to read this. And your boss is an idiot. Its nothing like that at all! Not when you have so much riding on it. Silly cow.

becarefuloutthere · 19/02/2022 13:44

@kerrym87 so sorry to hear this, I hope you're ok. Please take care and your boss is massively out of order! 💐

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you 🙏🏾 hope things are on the up for you soon x

Sunbird24 · 19/02/2022 17:56

@kerrym87 Flowers I’m so sorry, and agree that your boss is being completely obtuse.

Motherofkittens28 · 19/02/2022 18:13

@kerrym87 im so so sorry to hear this. If you ever want to PM me feel free as this happened to me with no other embryos once and second time we got nothing fertilised so I really do understand how hard it is. Sending you many hugs

crazycatlady1981 · 20/02/2022 13:47

Officially PUPO today with 2 embies!! 😀
3rd embryo is at morula stage so they are leaving it to see if it makes blast tomorrow!

becarefuloutthere · 20/02/2022 15:57

@crazycatlady1981 great news, congratulations 🥳 when's otd?

kerrym87 · 20/02/2022 19:51

@crazycatlady1981 fingers crossed x

crazycatlady1981 · 20/02/2022 20:26

@kerrym87 @becarefuloutthere thanks ladies😊 OTD for my clinic is 2 weeks time but I usually test around 11dpt with a FRER, so will be 3rd March! x

Annny27 · 20/02/2022 20:48

Fingers crossed for you @crazycatlady1981 :D :D

P.s been thinking of you @kerrym87 xx

kerrym87 · 20/02/2022 21:06

@Motherofkittens28 thanks, must have been soul destroying to have none, we got a shock as so many fertilised and only one made it, was not expecting that but its the way it goes.
@Annny27 thanks. Getting there , getting better today, finding silver lining like a rum and ginger beer or gin once confirmed tomorrow, also getting to have relations with hubby just cos we want to 😂 he's allowed now....back to work Thursday for a planning meeting and shift on Saturday I think.

thislittlebird · 20/02/2022 21:47

@crazycatlady1981 great news! 🙌

@kerrym87 glad you’re feeling a little better today and planning those silver linings.

We’ve got a decorator starting tomorrow, I’m kind of glad there’s a distraction, the time until FET is going to go very slowly I suspect.

kerrym87 · 21/02/2022 09:17

Stopping all meds now can take up to 2 weeks to get a period....wish it would just come a bit quicker to move on easier from it....

Motherofkittens28 · 21/02/2022 12:20

@kerrym87 you might find that it does. I bled through my first transfer but years ago when I froze my eggs I can remember my period started pretty much as soon as I stopped the medication.
Have you reached out for counselling? I found it helpful to talk it all through with someone.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2022 15:10

@kerrym87 I'm really sorry, that's really horrible that your boss hasn't understood! You'd think she would working in the department you do!! Hope you're ok

@crazycatlady1981 yay congratulations on being pupo! 🤞🏻 everything crossed for you
