@thislittlebird they only do scans on Wednesdays!! So have to wait another week! I don’t think af is gona be here until weekend anyway so that’s ok!

thislittlebird · 26/01/2022 13:59

@kerrym87 I emailed this morning and we went in for bloods because DH is off today. I’ll email them when it’s cycle day one, whenever that is.

thislittlebird · 26/01/2022 13:59

@crazycatlady1981 oh that’s not too and then! Very limited on the scan days!

Narwhal88 · 27/01/2022 22:40

Hi all, haven't been on here in over 6 months now! Just wanted to check in to see how you guys were doing. Congrats to all who have had their babies or got BFPs! I still won't be on here much as I find comparison really hard when going through IVF. We are transferring our last frozen embryo next week. We are following a nutritionist plan and my husband is under the care of Dr Ramsay, his sperm results have gotten worse so he is now on medication and trying to get diet to improve things. I also have confirmed endometriosis, adenomyosis and now PCOS as well. I have done a downregulated FET this time so been on buserelin for 30 days now. Couldn't throw many more infertility categories at us really! Wishing you all lots of luck! Xx

Somatronic · 28/01/2022 12:41

Hi All, I have been following the thread but I hardly ever comment. I'm still coming to terms with being a donkey I think!

Anyway I'm due to start IVF in March and I'm quite confused by the whole process so hopefully being part of this thread will help.

I'm excited and hopeful, which is probably foolish but I've been down in the dumps for long enough so I'll give positivity a go for a change!

Annny27 · 28/01/2022 13:04

Afternoon ladies :D

I am cd9, haven't dtd yet 🤣 going to dtd tonight and then Sunday night.....having to really plan it this month as I am having a smear on Tuesday 9am which is cd13 and ovulation time so basically trying to time it so I dtd about 36 hours before that (Sunday night) and then can dtd right after when I get home (sexy 🤣🤣)

@narwhal88 lovely to hear from you 💗 I got diagnosed with endo back in October and I also have slight pcos! Best of luck for your frozen transfer and keep us updated!

@somatronic I found when i accepted I was a temporary donkey it becomes a lot easier. Best of luck for you ivf in march! x

@marvellouslymadmum what's your next steps?

@crazycatlady1981 are they giving you same medication this time?

@kerrym87 @thislittlebird how are things going?

thislittlebird · 28/01/2022 13:09

@Narwhal88 hi over on this thread! I find comparison very hard too, totally get how hard it is. Pop in and say hi to us though when you’re feeling like it. I may disappear myself if this round doesn’t work, it’s difficult to see everyone else moving on. My fingers are crossed for your FET cycle x

@Somatronic hi, you’ll find plenty of folks going through or having been through it all already so hopefully that will be useful for you leading up to starting.

I’m going in for my scan on Saturday. I guess it’s cd3, AF took a while to get going but that should be fine. Fingers crossed it’s all ok in there and we can start stims.

kerrym87 · 28/01/2022 19:10

@Annny27 I totally understand, I found it hard for quite a while, I have endo and pcos. Scan on Monday for possible egg collection next Wednesday, now on 2 injections a day (stims and one to prevent ovulation). Feeling yak but needs must!

Sunbird24 · 28/01/2022 19:31

I’m still around #donkeyforlife

crazycatlady1981 · 28/01/2022 19:32

@Narwhal88 good to hear from you and good luck for your fet next week! Will be thinking of you! x

@Somatronic hello! 👋🏻 Yes it’s really useful to be on threads with people going through IVF! Are you doing a long protocol or short protocol? I’m doing my second round of long now and there are quite a few people on here doing short. Feel free to ask any questions!

@Annny27 yep I’m on exactly the same meds this time as last round! Got 5 eggs last time so hoping for at least the same but a few more would be amazing!
Enjoy dtd!! 😬

@thislittlebird good luck for your scan tomorrow! Hope it all goes well! Have you started injections yet?

Af arrived yesterday so will be having my first scan next Wednesday and then all being well starting stims after the scan! 😊

thislittlebird · 28/01/2022 20:20

@crazycatlady1981 no! I was supposed to go in Wednesday for a scan but then AF didn’t play ball 🤪. Started in the end at the very end of Wednesday and was very light for a day so they wanted me to come in Saturday to give it more time to get doing, which it know has. I will assume they’ll tell us to start stims Saturday but I’m not 100% sure. From what you’re saying stims could start a bit later so maybe it won’t be Saturday 🤔

Somatronic · 28/01/2022 22:57

Thanks so much for the welcome!

@crazycatlady1981 I'm doing the short protocol. I have a lot of reading to do - I only learned the difference between long and short today!

They're trying to upsell a lot which is quite confusing. I must figure out whether the extras are nonsense or worth paying for in the next few weeks. It's hard to know.

thislittlebird · 29/01/2022 12:50

I’m starting stims today! Kind of a relief to finally start.

Sunbird24 · 29/01/2022 13:03

Hooray @thislittlebird! Moving on a step is always good, as it’s one closer to the next. Hope your body reacts exactly as it is supposed to 🤞

thislittlebird · 29/01/2022 13:07

@Sunbird24 yeah, exactly. I had 13 follicles on the right ovary, 11 on the left. My right ovary didn’t respond very well to letrozole so I’ll see what happens as we go through the process but I’m hopping at least some respond well.

Narwhal88 · 30/01/2022 09:10

@Annny27 thank you lovely. Did you have a lap to diagnose it? They saw mine on ultrasound (a very painful and long one where they properly dug around) but there was over a year waiting list for the lap so still waiting. Are you still waiting for NHS IVF or going to go private?

@thislittlebird yeah it's very difficult seeing it work for others and not yourself and being 'stuck'. Good luck for this round for you, I see you have just started stims!

@kerrym87 good luck for EC next week!

@Sunbird24 very sorry to hear about your miscarriages 💔 I also feel like a #foreverdonkey right now.

@crazycatlady1981 thank you 💕 good luck to you for this round as well!

@Somatronic if it's your first round then you probably don't need the extras, take a look on the HFEA website it has a traffic light system for rating the extras.

thislittlebird · 30/01/2022 10:26

@Narwhal88 thanks! I’m currently in a house full of protein and hoping it helps the eggs out.

@Somatronic I agree with Narwhal88 on the extras and HFEA has a good guide on what’s evidenced or not.

Somatronic · 30/01/2022 20:56

Great advice - thank you. Because IVF is not available from the Irish health service there is no official advice or help from the national health service or the state and you're at the mercy of private health providers who obviously operate to make as much money as possible, so resources like that are so helpful!

Sunbird24 · 31/01/2022 11:02

Angry Turned up for my appointment with the consultant to find out she’s not in as she’s tested positive for covid - but then it turns out my appointment wasn’t with her anyway, it’s just for more blood tests… 🤦‍♀️ Oh well, at least that will still happen!

crazycatlady1981 · 31/01/2022 11:24

@thislittlebird great to hear you have started stims!! 👍🏻
I should be starting on Wednesday hopefully, if all is quiet on the ovary front!!

@Sunbird24 oh that’s a bummer! Have they said when your appointment with her will happen? I guess at least they did something useful and it wasn’t a wasted journey!

Sunbird24 · 31/01/2022 11:40

Considering this appointment was for 1100 and I’m still waiting… 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m assuming I’ll get an appointment with her to discuss the genetic results when they come back, which should be late March based on the last lot.

Sunbird24 · 31/01/2022 13:10

Complete flipping waste of time. The only blood test they actually want to repeat needs to be done when my HPTs are negative for comparison, and they’re not. So that was a morning out of work, a 90 min round trip and an hour sitting in the waiting room for nothing. Now I’m hangry!

becarefuloutthere · 31/01/2022 13:40

@Sunbird24 how frustrating! Sorry hun 😖

thislittlebird · 31/01/2022 18:38

@Somatronic yeah it really is useful, it's such a difficult process without any regulatory guidance.

@crazycatlady1981 exciting, what stims are you going to be on? I've already got twitchy ovaries, I don't know if that's normal or not. Got a blood test on Wednesday AM.

@Sunbird24 omg, I was going to say aren't you far away from the clinic. What a joke to go all that way for nothing.

Marvellouslymadmum · 31/01/2022 19:41

@Narwhal88 sorry to hear things haven't been going well for you, 🤞🏻 everything crossed for this cycle for you!

@Annny27 I phoned the secretary and got through to the proper one this time, she's booked me a new appointment for 14th feb with the head consultant so 🤞🏻 he will be more helpful!

@Sunbird24 what a nightmare!

@thislittlebird how are you feeling? I have very thingy ovaries already on day 5 of clomid round 3 I'm sure they didn't start until later last month I really should've taken note of them
