Hi ladies! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas?

I only had one awkward moment, where my mum (who doesn't know we have been TTC) reflected on an Xmas movie we watched, and said to my 10 year old niece "see, Christmas isn't very nice if you don't have a family", and I blurted out "well, that's true"! My OH glared at me... oops! 😅

I have been occupying myself with DIY the last couple of days and I'm still trying to work out whether I ovulated on Christmas day... I think I did but was without my thermometer and have since had two terrible nights sleep.

@annny27 @thislittlebird sorry for your BFNs 😔 let's hope 2022 is our lucky year 🤞

@Kay00 it’s hard to say, but I would estimate possibly 26/27th for ovulation? 🤔 Do you test for your LH surge too? I always find the combination of that and temping helps to determine my ovulation day.

I got my usual pre-af spotting on Christmas Day so I know she’s on the way any day now!
Got my phone appt with nurse to get my ivf schedule next Tuesday so that’s good! 😊

@crazycatlady1981 to be fair it could have been any day from the 24th through to the 26th/27th. I'm guessing the 24th/25th based on my previous charts where I ovulated on the last day I had EWCM and ovulation pains. Everything pretty much dried up on the 25th. It doesn't really matter either way though, as its unlikely I will get pregnant - haha!

Sorry that AF might be on her way , I find having something to look forward to (like the start of your IVF journey) quite heartening, hopefully it keeps your head up and looking forward too x

@Kay00 ugh that mother comment would get me too! I feel like I’ve been sick all of Christmas tbh. It’s very annoying. First the booster got me, then I had one day off of feeling crap on Boxing Day, but then I got a hormonal migraine the day after. Then last night I couldn’t sleep and was panicking about IVF. Been trying to get reassurance on the ivf boards that I shouldn’t go into this being despondent but it’s so hard. I wanted to get a bit fitter leading up to it but so far I’ve been mostly ill over Christmas so that hasn’t gone well.

My doctor wants me to do the 2 hour prolactin blood test thing. I don’t want to do it but here we are, got a follow up call Jan 5th.

@crazycatlady1981 good to hear you’ll be starting soon and are making progress!

I was feeling optimistic but I’ve had a freak out the last few days and I don’t know why. This prolactin thing isn’t helping.

@thislittlebird I'm feeling totally panicked, up and down, then miserable and everything irritated me waiting fir appt on 11th for my drugs and schedule etc. I've not lost weight from November, then felt unwell about a week with norethisterone upsetting my tummy and daring to eat some Xmas food! These last few weeks are the hardest so far and we haven't even started yet! 😖

@kerrym87 yeah, I get that. It doesn’t feel exciting, I feel quite anxious. Are you starting down regs soon? Or are you short protocol?

I managed to delay my period with the spare progesterone I have, which I guess is the same as norethisterone really.

I’m going to try to eat more protein than normal (I’m mostly veggie but I do eat some fish and meat), and start exercising so I feel a bit better before stims start late Jan. it’s hard, I also put on weight in November on holiday and haven’t lost it.

@thislittlebird short protocol, period was due about now but delaying it 2 weeks (I had to push so it would fit in with dates they gave me 🙄) so once period arrives mid jan I'll start stims I think.

@kerrym87 have they told you your specific drug protocol yet? My period is due Jan 25th but it’ll probably be earlier, will need the progesterone again. Our appointment for bloods and the drugs teach is Jan 26th.

My gynaecologist sent the ccg an ivf appeal letter and we should hear back in 8 weeks 🤞🤞

Just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone with treatment and progress in the new year!

I'm still doing well if anyone is wondering. Just been trying to not get too focused on worrying about things and coming on here too much doesn't help! Currently 10 weeks pregnant and all going well after 2 years and a round of IVF.

@thislittlebird no i dont and I think it's very little warning for it all, just as well im medical ! I like to research what drugs etc in advance, if any side effects include headaches and digestive upsets I get it.....

@CycleGirl20 that's great. I also neverlike to outright ask how people are getting on in case it's a bit sensitive or upsetting, but don't like people to think I don't care! Just think when people wanna share they will x

@thislittlebird yes I took tests same as usual blatant bfn think it was just a light long af, im cd15 now took the clomid, still getting a little old stuff when I wipe 🤷🏼‍♀️ no positive opk they're all 30-50%
And two bfn on Christmas Day is horrible I'm sorry 😞

@crazycatlady1981 it did it was just much lighter than usual so I've a feeling I didnt ovulate properly on the first round of clomid

Happy new year ladies! Just thought I'd update you that I had my first scan yesterday and all is looking good. I've had no morning sickness or anything so was convinced there wouldn't be anything in there but the bean is measuring two days ahead at 8+3 and has a strong heartbeat.

I finally took the plunge and called the IVF clinic this morning to let them know I won't be doing my cycle this month. I also self referred to the midwife last night as I hadn't dared do that before in case I had an MC and it would scupper my chances at an NHS IVF round. Problem is that with Christmas and covid delays I suspect my midwife appointments will be really delayed now - oh well!

@Juno231 shouldn't be too bad as they work 7 days a week in community as ladies and babies still need seeing x

I’ve had my ivf schedule, starting on 17th which is earlier than I anticipated as I have shorter cycles so they changed the start date this time around to cd18.
Just got to move house first and get my drugs sent to the right address and then I can relax and focus on it all!! 😬

I did @crazycatlady1981, unfortunately I’ve broken the lovely run of good news we had going, as there was no heartbeat, probably stopped about a week ago. I’ll be back on the donkey cart in time, will just need to get through the next bit as best as I can.
