@crazycatlady1981 I’m all out of tests now, so just got to wait until Jan 6th for my scan! I’m massively emotional but not much else in terms of symptoms, which is pretty normal for me. Would be nice if I could identify something that was different this time but I guess whatever will be will be…

Kay00 · 16/12/2021 22:48

@sunbird24 @crazycatlady1981 Bath have very good success rates! Above average on many metrics 😊 so very tempting, but they do look a little more pricy. Im finding it quite hard to compare prices though...

kerrym87 · 17/12/2021 14:12

@crazycatlady1981 if you freeze or cook blue cheese it kills listeria so then you can eat it!

thislittlebird · 17/12/2021 15:49

Welcome @Babybelle00!

I don’t really worry about anything really, cheese or alcohol or whatever, but I’m really not expecting it all to work naturally anyway. :/ the only thing I do worry about it my weight. It’s not that bad, I just think I should have lost a few pounds to get myself in a better shape for ivf. But I haven’t felt like it tbh, this time of year is really hard.

crazycatlady1981 · 17/12/2021 17:28

@Sunbird24 that’s seems ages to wait! Hope you’ve got lots going on to distract you over Christmas!! Wishing you lots of luck for 6th Jan!

@kerrym87 ooh I didn’t know that!! Thanks! 😊

@Kay00 yeah they are a bit pricier than other places I think, but we decided to stay with them as we’d already done our nhs round with them so it was just easier. We’ve just paid £4845 for our next round not including drugs which are around £1000 for me. They do have refund & multi-round packages though!

Babybelle00 · 17/12/2021 17:54

@thislittlebird
Think I'm going to join you on the wine and cheese this month. Might as well make the most of Christmas food!

Annny27 · 18/12/2021 08:20

For me it's sugar I should cut down on!

thislittlebird · 18/12/2021 14:04

@Babybelle00 yeah, there is blue cheese in our ocado basket! My husband is pescatarian (mostly veggie) so we make a mushroom wellington for Christmas, which involves some blue cheese! My biggest worry is piling on more pounds, so I need to try to keep active, make myself go our for a walk each day etc since I'm indoors all of Christmas.

kerrym87 · 19/12/2021 09:45

My sugar has crept back up and as I'm at risk of type 2 diabetes abd gestational (should we get there) need to reign in but equally I thought one last Xmas! Need to have some moderation I think

thislittlebird · 19/12/2021 11:32

@kerrym87 yeah, it’s hard to balance this time of year. I definitely think I’ll have to try to exercise (as much as it pains me) if I will be indulging in nice things.

Kay00 · 19/12/2021 19:53

@crazycatlady1981 that's interesting and really helpful thank you. I assume I'll be eligible for an NHS cycle but I have no idea how long I'll have to wait so I'm priming my OH for us doing a privately paid cycle first.

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/12/2021 11:25

Hi @Kay00 good to see you here (or not as it means you're a donkey too 😕)

@Babybelle00 hi and welcome

I'm Still just sitting here cd60 no af 2 totally unsurprising bfn's and totally fed up, I wish af would just hurry up and get here so I can get started on the next clomid not working long stupid cycle 😔

Babybelle00 · 20/12/2021 11:34

@thislittlebird
Sounds tasty. Everything in moderation as they say!

@Marvellouslymadmum Thanks for the welcome

thislittlebird · 20/12/2021 12:20

@Marvellouslymadmum it really sucks and somehow it's even worse when you get a bfn this time of year, I find. I hope you get AF soon so you can start again. I don't really want to test because I hate a Christmas BFN :/

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/12/2021 12:40

@thislittlebird it's totally horrible! I think she's finally on her way now as I had a tinge of pink when I wiped 🤞🏻 I'm going to count today as day one this time even if it starts in the evening and see if that helps with the stupid weird not ovulating until day 45 😂

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 21/12/2021 11:53

@Marvellouslymadmum did AF arrive?

I got an email from my ivf clinic saying treatments are going ahead as planned, which was nice. Told me to avoid large gatherings, take LFTs etc.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/12/2021 23:43

@thislittlebird I don't know 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ I had a little pink when I wiped yesterday and a little more today but no full flow, now I don't know what's going on or when to start the next clomid tablets 🤷🏼‍♀️
That's good news about your ivf!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 22/12/2021 06:02

@Marvellouslymadmum weird, did you take tests?

kerrym87 · 23/12/2021 08:42

Anyone else heading for ivf in Jan feeling totally terrified and there's so much to come to terms with will it work, won't it, side effects, mood swings.....was trying to enjoy this time as being able to eat nice things have a little drinking, not track bbt and ovulation! Just got a sense of foreboding

thislittlebird · 23/12/2021 09:29

@kerrym87 yeah :/ yesterday I had a breakdown at the vaccine centre and cried at the nurse when she asked me if I could be pregnant. Poor woman then had to spend 20 mins with infertile me telling me to be positive about ivf etc but it’s so hard when it’s daunting, feels like another can of worms about to open.

Then I found out I have high prolactin the same day and now I’m having to deal with that right before Christmas. Hoping it’s a one off but I’m going to ask the clinic what they need me to do for the cycle to go ahead. It’s not THAT high, but still to high and I can’t get through to my GP because Christmas.

Juno231 · 23/12/2021 10:11

@thislittlebird they'll probably want to do another prolactin test as it's rather volatile and excacerbated by stress from memory. Being in the 500s won't stop you from getting pregnant or having IVF, it's just a threshold where they need to double check if you have a prolactinoma. All the ladies with prolactinomas I've seen on MN had prolactin in the thousands though! Just saying there's probably no need to worry 🤞

thislittlebird · 23/12/2021 10:45

@Juno231 I did think it might be not too bad, the level was 590 and the GP said it’s non-urgent in the letter. But obviously ivf is coming up and I’m panicking they won’t like it. Hopefully they’ll run another test.

crazycatlady1981 · 24/12/2021 15:29

@kerrym87 I’ve got very mixed feelings about it all! I’m vaguely excited about starting the ivf again, but having had a failed round now, it definitely makes me not want to get my hopes up like I did with the first round!

Trying to stay positive is so difficult! But I’m going to focus on the new year and hopefully it being a much happier year than this year!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let’s hope 2022 brings lots more BFPs to the donkey cart!! 💕

Annny27 · 24/12/2021 16:30

So ladies, it's Christmas eve and also just my 30th birthday and I got a BFN and the start my period hahah. Life just keeps throwing stuff at me and there's only so many times I can catch and throw it back haha

@thislittlebird oh bless you 💗💗💗

@kerrym87 @thislittlebird I won't be starting for a while but am in the same mindset in terms of worrying about outcome, side effects and mental toll of ivf

@crazycatlady1981 sending love to you and let's hope 2022 is our year

thislittlebird · 25/12/2021 20:44

@Annny27 Merry Christmas to us, I got two BFNs today woooo. Happy birthday for yesterday.

My Pfizer booster is also giving me hell, feel like crap so Christmas Day has been a bit of a wash out :/
