@kerrym87 I might have to mention it in early January, I’ll see when this one shows up (the 22nd/23rd of December i reckon) but it’s on course to be five days early.

@Marvellouslymadmum I find that super hard. We eat mostly veggie stuff and it is very cheese and carbtastic. My migraine has now gone and I’ve been eating a roast chicken since it went 😭😂. Just like that my appetite is back!

I don’t think any natural cycle will work for us but we managed to dtd. Probably missed the key dates but nothing much can be done about that now Hmm

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/12/2021 23:18

@thislittlebird I'm definitely struggling with it! I'm currently converting to lots of antioxidant foods, superfoods, green tea with peppermint etc but cutting down on dairy is so hard even if i can manage bread! At least you're eating again now. We've dtd approx 30 times this cycles and I bet it's still not timed right 😂 there were a couple of days where we got worn out so we missed two days rather than one, guarantee ovulation was then! I looked up online and progesterone of 8 likely means I ovulated Thursday ish unless it's just really low for some reason, who knows!

I'm in 'fertile week' but need to start taking norethisterone in 4 days, know this cycle probably won't work but it's hard as clinic said use protection/avoid getting pregnant, in conflict! Worried as well they'll cancel treatment in Jan with bloody omicron!

thislittlebird · 14/12/2021 16:13

@Marvellouslymadmum I have had nothing like that, but I have had a lot of coconut Lindt lindor 😐. Tried to be a bit better today and it’s ok so far, need to keep it up until Christmas at least. Not moving enough but it is the time of year when I don’t want to move at all.

Did you have a progesterone test this cycle? I can’t remember. Did you confirm ovulation in the end?

Fertile (lol) week has just finished for me and I’m going to start taking the progesterone I have here soon. Can’t hurt 🤷‍♀️

@kerrym87 did you start taking it?

thislittlebird · 14/12/2021 16:14

Norethisterone, I mean.

kerrym87 · 14/12/2021 21:03

@thislittlebird start on 18th, had a meltdown later that day after a well-meaning but totally insensitive convi with a friend hence the post! Im so scared that covid pressures will put our treatment on hold or that we catch it and same thing.....
I've also been eating more, went to lanzarote end nov and haven't quite lost it yet! Plus Xmas....heading for jiggly town!🤣
@Marvellouslymadmum they never managed to test at the time of cycle when I actually ovulated as I don't fit in their 28 day time frame so no idea on progesterone!

Marvellouslymadmum · 14/12/2021 22:08

@kerrym87 it's hard to abstain when you're having trouble ttc

@thislittlebird I'm trying but I'm not going to restrict on the nice food etc and miss out, I'll try harder after Christmas and am determined to start exercising again too! Yes I've had two, one on day 21 which was 0.2 because I hadn't ovulated and one a week ago that was 8 so still very low but I think I'd only ovulated by a few days but pretty sure it happened in the end just not very strong. It should be called possibly fertile week for us donkeys 😂

@kerrym87 I don't think my cycles fit their schedules either 🤦🏼‍♀️ cd54 now

@Marvellouslymadmum mine deffo didn't but I asked them to sort it as my employer doesn't have any special leave for ivf so it's either annual leave or sick leave and I had annual leave to use by April anyway. Definitely scared now feels really big and my emotions are catawumpus, poor husband! 🤣

thislittlebird · 15/12/2021 19:20

@kerrym87 I’ve got the covid cancellation fear now as well. I was feeling ok and then started to worry after the stupid press conference tonight.

I weigh a few pounds too much really but maybe I should stop caring since if the ivf works it’ll get worse yet. I’m finding myself feeling mostly cold and hungry and busy trying to sort Christmas nonsense out.

kerrym87 · 15/12/2021 21:59

@thislittlebird I'm a nurse so terrified about cancellation of treatment but looking on hfea website they've said it should continue, it's out of our control but can't bear thought of being postponed further. I think once I get schedule and meds it'll be more familiar and may give some sense of focus to it. It's so overwhelming though as is socially distancing from family after xmas to avoid getting covid. I am enjoying a little fee drinking a couple of times a week ATM as don't have much bit haven't really had hardly any for long time and think I won't for a long time either way! 🍸😂🥴 start lwtrozole soon which makes me feel yukky first 4-5 days which will help with the flab!

crazycatlady1981 · 16/12/2021 08:09

@kerrym87 @thislittlebird I’m also worrying about the covid situation! I don’t think they’ll cancel treatments generally, only if you or partner contract covid! I’m going to be super careful and not meet up with anyone unmasked indoors once the meds have started! DH works outdoors so hopefully he’ll be fine! I’ve only just had covid a few weeks ago so in theory I should be less likely to get it, but it was delta not omicron so hasn’t really put my mind at rest!

kerrym87 · 16/12/2021 09:32

@crazycatlady1981 my hubby has his own office, I work on a baby unit but we've never had an outbreak as we all wear masks but after new year we are not going out or seeing family/friends at all to make sure. It might be helpful if lateral flows are hard to come by as with work I do them twice a week, the I wouldn't know!😅 saying that, don't want to unwittingly give it to someone else. Also realised that due to natural drive which happens 5 days before ovulation, the one time we've done it in this cycle has a chance of being in fertile window and norethisterone starts 4dpo.....laughing at my brain going well should you delay norethisterone to make sure you do get a bit and the other part of my brain is rofl going don't be ridiculous! 🙄😅

kerrym87 · 16/12/2021 09:48
  • that should have been make sure you don't get a bfp stupid autocorrect!
Kay00 · 16/12/2021 10:38

Hi ladies! May I join? I'm certainly in Donkey Chart territory Grin and I know quite a few of you from some of our other threads.

Quick summary: I'm 36, have been trying about 18 months, and not had a single double line in that time. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I had my investigations due to enlarged ovaries and a high AMH level, otherwise all seems good. I'm currently on Metformin and on my 4th cycle of Clomid and appear to be ovulating regularly now Smile.

Today i have been comparing IVF clinics in the South West (i'm based in Exeter) and currently CRGW in Plymouth is coming out on top!

thislittlebird · 16/12/2021 10:46

@crazycatlady1981 @kerrym87 staff shortages worry me. Guys has already struggled with this, omicron running rife might result in more delays, hate this. I’ve not had covid, to my knowledge, but I work from home mostly so I’m not in contact with many people. And there’s no family round here we see, our pool of contacts is small. We’re staying in London for Christmas because we couldn’t be bothered to travel to his family again, so Christmas should be quiet. In January we were supposed to be going to Scotland before treatment but I can’t see it going ahead now. So either we’ll be sightseeing in Scotland for a week in jan, or we’ll be doing very little mixing between now and treatment at the end of Jan. My husband’s job means he can’t stay home or self isolate before ivf, but I’ve told work I won’t be coming into the office until after treatment is done, don’t want to get covid if I can help it.

Oh yeah my brain does the same thing. I’m sure I’m not pregnant (again) but there’s always a daft hope you could be Confused

thislittlebird · 16/12/2021 10:48

@Kay00 welcome to the donkey cart! Sorry you’ve had to climb aboard :/

I’ve read a bit about CRGW myself. If we move south west that’s the one I’d likely end up with, if this all fails while we’re in London.

Kay00 · 16/12/2021 11:27

@thislittlebird I think they are the best in the Southwest Smile

I'm also thinking of cutting back on dairy, but it will be a huge struggle for me (i love love love dairy!). I'm finishing off the last of the yogurts in my fridge and then will need to think of an alternative for breakfast which is healthy and filling, and easy to make.

thislittlebird · 16/12/2021 11:30

@Kay00 all I’ve committed to dairy wise in my head so far is to use the alpro non-dairy milk for tea 😭😂. I can’t bring myself to take out all the dairy.

Babybelle00 · 16/12/2021 12:10

Hi all,

Can I climb aboard this donkey cart? 36 and ttc for 14 months. Had all my investigations with no cause found. Waiting for ivf referral (my local NHS refer out to Care). AF is currently in town and I'm so fed up!

crazycatlady1981 · 16/12/2021 13:52

@kerrym87 yeah I’m in the fertile week at the moment and have been debating if I should buy blue cheese & Brie for Christmas or not 🤔 because this may be the month that I get that miracle BFP after 4 years of trying and 2 failed transfers!! 😂 Lol! It’s amazing how part of our brain never gives up hope of that natural BFP!

crazycatlady1981 · 16/12/2021 15:11

@Kay00 @Babybelle00 welcome to the donkey cart both of you! Hope your referrals come through quickly! I found that was the worst part, just waiting endlessly for each appointment!
I’m with Care bath who are pretty good. We used them for our nhs ivf round which was mostly done through a nearby satellite clinic and now paying privately for our next round with them in January.

kerrym87 · 16/12/2021 15:17

@Kay00 dairy helps my spots and moodiness so what I do is overnight oats with soya yoghurt and in my tea I use half oatmilk and half normal milk. That pretty much mire than halved my dairy. Also cut down on sugar which reeeallly helped especially with sugar crashes.

Kay00 · 16/12/2021 15:29

@kerrym87 Yes, i definitely need to cut down on my sugar consumption, its my biggest weakness! I love the overnight oats idea Smile

@crazycatlady1981 haha... I was in a similar predicament a couple of weeks ago when I was weighing up in my head whether to buy period products Grin haha... who was I kidding?!

I haven't looked at Care Bath yet, so will consider them tonight... they aren't too far away from me!

Sunbird24 · 16/12/2021 17:01

I’m with Care Bath too…
And a lady I work with has her son after treatment with them.

crazycatlady1981 · 16/12/2021 18:51

@Sunbird24 ooh that’s good to know! I think my next round will be better as I’m doing it all with care and not through the satellite clinic which was a bit disjointed! How are you getting on? Are you due for your scan soon? 🤞🏻
