@becarefuloutthere did you have the same doctor at the initial appointment? I didn’t like my doctor that much, she was very young and clearly a trainee. I was hoping a consultant might be involved at some point.

becarefuloutthere · 02/12/2021 14:40

@thislittlebird I saw so many different ppl but none were trainees. I saw Ron a couple of times, he did the one with both of us taking notes, asking questions so I think after funding was approved from memory. He did the egg collection so defo a highly skilled dr! I guess consultant.

thislittlebird · 02/12/2021 15:01

@becarefuloutthere oh god that worries me. I did not have a Ron, I had a clinical fellow and she was clearly inexperienced and wanted to stick me on the highest dosage because of my age. All the consultants I saw said the exact opposite so I’m not thrilled she might do the EC 😩. I feel like I’m cursed through this whole process.

becarefuloutthere · 02/12/2021 16:30

@thislittlebird eek can you ask for a second opinion given others have said different to you. You have high amh too so say you're worried about OSHH. She might not do EC if she's not experienced enough. Try not to panic for now, I'm sure you'll be well looked after once you start xx

thislittlebird · 02/12/2021 17:00

@becarefuloutthere I pushed back on it because I knew it was an insane suggestion. She literally just checked a spreadsheet to make her medication recommendation and I said no, I don’t want to do that so she changed it. When the letter came through it’s got low doses on it for my protocol which is good, but it definitely hasn’t instilled confidence in me.

Someone on another thread said a consultant has to be there when they’re in training so hopefully that’s the case.

kerrym87 · 02/12/2021 20:06

@Juno231 wow! Everything crossed its a sticky little bean!

becarefuloutthere · 03/12/2021 15:42

@thislittlebird gosh I can see why! Yeah that makes sense, they wouldn't leave a trainer doing such an intricate procedure. What dates EC then or you waiting on scans first?

thislittlebird · 03/12/2021 16:43

@becarefuloutthere they said week of 24th for drugs and week of 7th for EC. But it all depends on my period I guess, which might be a little unpredictable now I’m not on letrozole. Will be interesting to see when it turns up this month and next 😬

On the Letrozole I responded quite fast, so I will assume that might be the case on ivf meds too.

Motherofkittens28 · 04/12/2021 08:36

@Sunbird24 @Juno231 what wonderful news, congratulations!

Theawkwardblonde · 04/12/2021 23:55

@Sunbird24 @Juno231 yayyy! Congratulations to you both!

SWAttempting · 05/12/2021 07:42

@Juno231

TW

Ladies I'm 10dpo but I've got a BFP this morning... My first ever! Month before IVF, I'm that donkey bitch 🤣

OMG Congratulations!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am legit so happy for you!!!!

Sorry, jumped on the thread to congratulate you! 😂

Annny27 · 07/12/2021 09:59

Morning ladies - in fertile window at the moment (or the marginally fertile brick wall in our cases:p )

@juno231 how are you getting on lovely? 💗

@sunbird24 have the clinic done bloods for you?

Juno231 · 07/12/2021 10:23

@SWAttempting thank you! I did think I should seek you out especially to let you know 😆

@Annny27 well after my miraculous month I say definitely cover off that FW just in case! I'm good thank you. I'm 15 dpo/4+1 today so still very early days. Symptoms wise it's mainly sore/full boobs - potentially slight tiredness and heightened sense of smell but I'm not sure if I'm not just overthinking it. Did another FRER yesterday just to check for line progression and so far so good. Pic shows 10/11/14 dpo

SWAttempting · 07/12/2021 10:25

@Juno231

I've been keeping eyes on your updates and I saw people congratulating you... I was like 😱😱😱😱

I was scrolling through for your positive test like a possessed women 😂

thislittlebird · 07/12/2021 15:03

@Annny27 I may or may not be in the fertile week, I’ve stopped caring lol. I’ve taken a couple of OPKs but it’s not like they work for me, so we’re just doing the deed every other day at the mo.

My IVF drugs will be arriving on Jan 18th, which is a bit scary.

crazycatlady1981 · 08/12/2021 08:38

Hi ladies! Just catching up on everything! Been crazy busy with work, got totally run down, then picked up covid 😫🤒 This year officially sucks and can do one!!
But so good to come back to more BFPs on the donkey cart!!!
Wow @Juno231 that’s amazing!! The miraculous pre-ivf BFP!! Did you do anything differently this month??

@Sunbird24 yay for your BFP!!! Praying it’s a sticky one this time!

@thislittlebird great to hear that your ivf is finally in place!! It gets so real once you have some official dates and a timetable!! 😬

I’m just finalising my ivf stuff and got to make the enormous payment this week!!
Af due early January so should be starting down regs around 21st-23rd jan I reckon!
Just enough time for us to move house, settle in and de-stress!! 😊

Juno231 · 08/12/2021 09:16

@crazycatlady1981 not really! The only thing I can think of is that I really cut down on dairy (and bread). I did it cause I thought it might help my psoriasis as it was flaring up again. Maybe reducing inflammation in the body helped an embryo stick? I've always wondered if my auto immune response was part of my infertility.

Juno231 · 08/12/2021 09:17

@crazycatlady1981 @thislittlebird sounds like you two will be doing IVF pretty much at the same time! Best of luck to you two 🤞

thislittlebird · 09/12/2021 03:01

@Juno231 I’d find it hard to cut down on dairy, but I have the same worries about my immune issues and not being able to conceive. I mostly try not to think of them because it’s a lot to get my head round.

Thanks, going to need the luck 😬

thislittlebird · 09/12/2021 03:02

Oh and first month off of Letrozole I have a super severe ovulation migraine. Little chance of conceiving if I’m throwing up, sleeping and in pain for the key days Hmm

Juno231 · 09/12/2021 07:48

@thislittlebird oh no, it's back! You didn't have any migraines during these letrozole months didn't you? As for cutting back on dairy, I hated all milk substitutes but honestly find oat milk (barista preferably, otherwise whole milk) perfectly nice now! I'd also gotten into the habit of having sandwiches every day for lunch so cut way back on that too just in case.

crazycatlady1981 · 09/12/2021 08:06

@Juno231 that’s interesting about the cutting back on inflammatory foods! I’ve been wondering about that myself after having 2 failed implantations in case that is what’s causing issues. I’m a bit of a cheese addict though so not sure I’d be very successful at cutting down on dairy. I might try it and give it a go during the ivf.

@thislittlebird sorry you’re having a terrible time with ovulation migraines. That sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon and manage to get to dtd! 💕

thislittlebird · 09/12/2021 08:39

@Juno231 yeah, I had headaches and mild migraines the last few months but nothing like this. My best guess as to why it’s so severe is that Letrozole suppresses oestrogen so there’s less of a cliff for it to fall off, and the drop is usually what triggers the migraine.

I’m ok with some non dairy milks, I just prefer milk. But I like almond and coconut milk (the one that’s a blend of both) or coconut milk in coffee, and alpro do an alternative milk made for tea which works well. I should try using some more of that in the coming months maybe, probably from January like crazycatlady.

@crazycatlady1981 I’m due to start stims that same week, but so far I’m ovulating early this cycle which is super annoying. You only get a four day window your period changing so I’m really frustrated that now I have to say to them my period will probably be the previous week. Will wait to see when it comes this month I guess.

I’ve just had a quarter of a slice of toast, first food since Tuesday Confused, what a fun few days this has been.

kerrym87 · 09/12/2021 09:19

@thislittlebird they might be able to give you norethisterone to delay period, that's what they're doing with mine to delay it by almost 2 weeks to fit in with schedule

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/12/2021 11:36

@Juno231 glad everything's going well for you. I really need to cut down inflammation in my body but as I'm a veggie cutting down dairy and bread is so hard! Most things I eat have cheese in haha

@crazycatlady1981 sorry you got corona hopefully it's not too bad and you get better soon!

@thislittlebird sorry your migraines are back 😕
