Hello hope you can find me I'm off to get the list.

OP posts:
kate2179 · 10/01/2008 19:42

Forgot to say OMG greenglassgoblin! How exciting! So does that mean you're 14DPO? Do a test woman! If not for your own sake then for ours

LobstersLass · 10/01/2008 19:44

I'm getting rather obsessed. Got my smiley face on OPK yesterday morning and dragged unsuspecting dh upstairs immediately.

He was rather surprised.

I had EWCM yesterday too, but now it seems to have gone. Is this normal? Does it only last for one day?

mibbes · 10/01/2008 20:01

LobsterLass it can only last 1 day - the drying up of EWCM suggests ov has happened - looks like you may have timed it perfectly...

mibbes · 10/01/2008 20:02

GGG - any more sign of af or are you still thinking it was maybe a wee implantation spot..? Fingers crossed for you

LobstersLass · 10/01/2008 20:38

Hi mibbes, I do hope so!!

I think we should still BD tonight too just too make sure, although I have to confess that I'm a bit knackered from recent activity!!

Then all I can do I cross my fingers for January 26th. It seems like such a long time away! Especially seeing as that I'm off the Gin!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 20:40

LobsterLass No harm in another sneaky one just to be sure .

Emmsy1 · 10/01/2008 21:05

Hi girls,
still no sign of AF or O so god knows what's going on this month.
Kate, I took Agnus Castus 7 and 8 years ago, I can't remember the dosage of the tablets, only that I had to take quite a few, with food, a couple of times a day. I took it as soon as I came off the pill when I was TTC, as I had read at the time that it would regulate your periods. I don't know if I actually needed regulating at the time, only that I had been on the pill for quite a long time,(17 years) so I thought I would give it a go! I managed to conceive within 3 months with my first two boys, it may have been the Agnus Castus or it may have been my body doing a very good job,who knows? I am usually a 28 or 29 day cycle and I have always 'O' since I started temping 17 mths ago, this month is weird, maybe its my age, maybe it was drinking and eating too much for about 10 days over christmas that has made this happen, I am definately thinking of buying some Agnus castus to regulate me after this AF arrives, if anyone does find out any negative info on it then please post it!
I am still taking 5mg of folic acid (on prescription) and 1 zinc tablet, I have got some baby aspirin from ebay for when I conceive but I am a little aprehensive about them as I don't know a great deal about them!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 21:06

Twinkling read your post on symptom spotter thread - sorry for not responding. Agnus Castus is a herbal supplement that can help with luteal phase defect and generally helps to settle menstrual cycles - there are mixed reactions to it on MN though so be warned.
I thought it was vital to take folic acid ? Are you going to start taking it again ? I take pregnacare as it has FA and various other bits and bobs - also has a Omega3 supplement in the packet as it is pregnacare plus so am trying to cover all bases .
Good to see you are keeping yourself occupied at this difficult time. Hope your family are coping with the loss. Do you know when the funeral is going to be ?

LobstersLass · 10/01/2008 21:41

Twinklingfairy I hope Monday goes well for you. My grandfather is very ill at the moment. I can't imagine how you must be feeling.

mibbes · 10/01/2008 22:15

Hey cycle buddy Emmsy - good to hear another positive agnus castus post , am feeling less guilty for taking it earlier this cycle now. What is the deal with baby asprin ? Are they recommended for when we get out BFPs ?

mibbes · 10/01/2008 22:22

Hi Kate, you can get Flaxseed oil in capsules which is far easier to take - it is also called linseed oil - I eat linseeds which are good sprinkled on cereal . Mind you I wasn't aware they were any help when ttc - what a bonus

sambrads · 10/01/2008 22:33

hi ya was reading all the threads there!!!

can someone fill me in on why agnus castus might be bad to take ?????

so glad to see someone has graduated!!!!!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 22:37

sambrand some say it made relatively regular cycles irregular or stopped ovulation. Most posts are positive but probbaly best to steer clear if cycles are regular already and luteal phase seems long enough.

mibbes · 10/01/2008 22:38

sorry sambrads ! my typing is rubbish !

kate2179 · 10/01/2008 23:56

Evening mibbes, I'm on the linseed on cereal too! I also have pumpkin & sunflower seeds. I started buying them crushed as I was told that it's quite hard for your body to break down so there's a chance it can just pass through you. Have also been told it's better to crush your own & to keep it in the fridge as it oxidizes (sp?) unless it's in an airtight container. Did try crushing some with a pestle & mortar without much success, apparently the best thing to use is a coffee grinder, haven't got one of those and feel like I really need to draw the line somewhere!! You've inspired me to try to take a spoonful of oil before bed...wish me luck!
PS was told to take EPO until OV then flax oil afterwards, but can't remember quite what it's supposed to do

GreenGlassGoblin · 11/01/2008 06:39

Hi all, well AF arrived late last night, so no testing for me. CD2 now, so onwards to the next month. Thanks for all your thoughts!

dressedupnowheretogo · 11/01/2008 07:22

cd 19 and more bding which dh is loving have decided to stop thinking about my ever inflating breasts
which is kinda hard when they are massive anyway lol

mibbes · 11/01/2008 08:07

GGG sorry TEW got you . Is CD1 not the first full day of proper bleeding ? Would that not make today CD1 for you ? I'm sure I read somewhere that if it comes before 4pm that day can be counted as Cd1 otherwise the next day is... I'm sure someone else can confirm or otherwise.

LobsterLass sorry to hear about your grandfather - what is it about htis time of year ?

Kate so glad someone else is a nutter too eating all of these "healthy" things ! I usually try to be super heathly through the week in an attempt to ease the guilt of being a boozed-up, kebab-eating disaster-area at the weekend . Hadn't heard about the crushing but you can rest assured not another whole sunflower seed will pass my lips ! I tried the pumpkin seeds but not too keen unless hidden in muesli.

Still no af or imminent sign - no real sign of cramps except the odd mild one lasting less thana minute - almost like the feeling you get when a proper cramp is about to start except it doesn't

sambrads · 11/01/2008 08:58

hello everyone how are you all this morning????

so sorry ggg hopefully it will be your month soon!!!!!!!

i have to go to the docs today to get bloods done and see how i feel after taking the clomid !!!!

i have been going to the loo alot lately but i think i might be just imaging things .

can anyone tell me how they knew they were preg apart from the obvious ??

i do feel really weird today!!!!

GreenGlassGoblin · 11/01/2008 09:06

mibbes yes, I'd heard that it's full red flow for day 1, but I've always counted from first blood (so to speak), so that's how I figure my dates! sambrads when I was pg with DS, I was constipated and starving hungry. Couldn't figure it out at the time as I was eating heaps of friut & veg, plus drinking a reasonable amount of wine, but still constipated (sorry TMI). That was the week my period was due. Does that help at all? It's one of the reasons I was very sceptical of being pg this time - I wasn't hungry enough!

MrsBish · 11/01/2008 09:11

I got my day wrong when I asked to be added to the list, so have changed it below.

fruitloop79 · 11/01/2008 09:19

Hi girlies,

Oooh sam let us know how you get on, what time's your appointment?

Ok, I'm on CD19 and no sign of OV yet. Must have been left over you-know-what yesterday . I'm getting annoyed with these sticks now. I'm convinced they don't work, or maybe I don't work Or maybe I'm gonna have another 88 dayer which means I'll be testing everyday until about CD70 (AAAaaaagh, I cant bare it!)

07mumstheword · 11/01/2008 09:53

Morning all.

Fruitloop how frustrating for you. Hope you get positive OPK soon.

Sambrands Could I ask about these bloods your having/clomid? I'm cycle 9 heading into cycle 10 and wondering when to ask doctor for tests and expecting her to say 12 months but I notice you are cycle 8 what was the reason for your being tested by now? Thanks and good luck.

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 11/01/2008 09:55

fruitloop part of the reason I stopped using opk's was because with my long cycle I was getting so many negative ones. Also, when I did get a positive one it didn't mean I was about to ovulate.

Last cycle was a very confusing one for me, I was taking my temps and occasionally peeing on an OPK. My temps were up and down all month, I got a positive opk about CD20 and I had patches of EWCM all month. Some days none, some days a little bit. I wondered if I was confusing semen with EWCM.

Having finally got to a normal cycle I've realised that the last one was anovulatory. I genuinely was getting EWCM all the way through my cycle (which means my body kept trying to ovulate). And my temp taking was correct it's just that I never hatched an egg in order for the temperature to go up. And the positive opk was just another indication of an imbalance in hormones. I got the LH surge, but didn't actually ovulate.

Feeling more confident that I've ovulated this month, all the signs are right. I had a week of EWCM, which completely dried up after ovulation. This coincided with my temperature rising. I checked that my cervix felt harder and closed.

I think the best thing you can do with a potentially long cycle like yours is to keep bd-ing every other day until you start to feel like AF is due. Then check your cervix position (to make sure it's closed) and you will then know to wait for a couple of weeks before taking a test.

Hope this helps - opks just aren't useful everyone.

(however feel free to ignore me, someone else on MN told me to stop using opk's and I didn't want to listen - I had to realise for myself that they weren't for me).
