Hello hope you can find me I'm off to get the list.

OP posts:
fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 14:01

mibbes I'm taking EPO. Not sure if it has made any difference to anything but I'm now paranoid cos I'm hearing not great things about it. I might google it and see what I can find out.

Oh yeah, it is to keep their nuts dry

digitalgirl · 10/01/2008 14:10

MrsEi where are you? weren't you testing again this morning? hope you have some good news!

becaroo · 10/01/2008 14:37

Fruitloop..."my mans boys"....god, thats funny!

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 14:45

glad to be of service becaroo

Does anyone know what the difference is? or are you all eating your lunch and cant bare to read my post?

JollyBear · 10/01/2008 14:51

Fruitloop I think that our man's boys are meant to be less stretchy than EWCM. If you google fertility friend there is an on-line book which goes into great detail

TBH I don't really get EWCM (I don't think!) so I find it hard to tell the difference between DH's contribution and my CM.

GreenGlassGoblin · 10/01/2008 14:53

Agree with JB about the EWCM versus semen. They are very similar because apparantly they both nourish sperm, so they're the same stuff in many respects. The semen is a bit less stretchy and a bit less clear, but that's not much help if you haven't recently been inspecting the EWCM for comparison purposes!

digitalgirl · 10/01/2008 14:55

what JB said. also, if you have sex the night before, by lunchtime the next day they should all be gone so any 'fluids' you get in the afternoon are all yours!

glastochick · 10/01/2008 15:00

That's just reminded me to take my Pregnacare

I did start taking EPO in weeks 1 & 2, but then I lurked wishfully on the September 08 thread and read that post by the lady who had had got her BFP while taking it and the Doc / midwife was surprised. So this month I'm seeing what happens without the EPO.

JollyBear · 10/01/2008 15:00

That's interesting DG Now this is really TMI .... but I always seem to get a lot of DH's contribution making an appearance the next day, LOADS, I've had to change knickers before and I'm sure I've had some in the afternoon, might that be mine then?!

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 15:05

ah thanks girls. well it appeared at lunchtime and was very stretchy but none since so who knows. I'm sure the OV stick was right though (nowt ovulation), never mind.

Another question.....Is it worth it to purchase a persona/clear blue monitor? Or are the regular ebay/gp style sticks fine? They've got a fe on Ebay I was gonna get one but the sticks seem quite der compared to the cheapy ones. What does everyone think?

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 15:12

my spelling's terrible (was gonna write 'atrocious' but can't spell it)

well JB, dont be sharing that with your man or he'll think he sperminator! he he!

GC I read that same post so i'm avoiding it now. Intrigued to try Agnus Castus as my cycles are soooo long but a bit scared of that too and cant afford to see a herbal specialist

JollyBear · 10/01/2008 15:30

Fruitloop I should have kept that to myself shouldn't I

Very stretchy should mean that your lunchtime stuff was EWCM, as you BDed last night then you'll be even in if you did ov today.

Can't advise on OPKs v monitors, sorry!

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 15:33

Yeah but the OV stick said no . Maybe it's a very confused stick

becaroo · 10/01/2008 16:02

Jollybear...me too! Loads of the little buggers hanging around in my underwear next day!!!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 16:47

Fruitloop sorry can't help on the stick v's monitor query as have only used sticks (and so far found them rubbish, but if am not ov'ing then they are spot on !)
You don't have to go to a herbalist for agnus castus you can buy in health food shops - got mine from Holland and Barrett. Not that I am advsing you use it - I reckon if you read the MN posts about it then you can make your own mind up .

sambrads · 10/01/2008 17:10

This thread moves so fast
I would like to thank everyone for their kind words, they really helped, though they did make me cry.
I am busy making up little pamphlet things (order of service) for the funeral on Monday. So keeping busy and trying to do my bit to help.

What is this angus stuff?
I am not taking anything at all, should I be?
I have stopped taking folic acid, for a bit, felt like I may overdose I had been taking it so long!!haha

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 17:20

mibbes It's just that I've noticed on other threads that you shouldn't self-medicate Agnus Castus so I was a bit apprehensive . Maybe I'll try it? I dunno. Who's taking it? has it helped?

cricri · 10/01/2008 17:22

I'm taking agnus castus, but I've only just started today so early days yet. Will let you know in due course

libralady · 10/01/2008 17:25

fruitloop

I got a clearblue digital monitor and fell pg on the second month of using it. Was previously told I had no chance of becoming pregnant without intervention as all bloods showed I did not ovulate. Used the monitor and both months it showed I ovulated on cs 9/10 not around 14, which is probably why bloods showed nothing, they were testing too late!
Got mine cheap (2nd hand) off e-Bay and purchased the sticks from Boots. Will be selling mine in a few weeks once I know this is a sticky one (i'm currently 15+3 due on 1st July).
Also used the e-bay cheapys along side this, and they confirmed the ovulation as well.
Hope this helps.

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 17:39

ah thanks cricri love to know if it makes any difference.

Libralady congrats on the pregnancy, Maybe I could buy it off you if I haven't got one by then. They seem more expensive than the Persona ones. Is that cos they're better?

KiddieCare · 10/01/2008 17:46

hey jolly bear can i be addes on the graduate list plz,
it must be mn luck as witin days of first posting on here about ttc#2 i got a bfp on 19/12, my scan is on 31/01 cant wait.

fruitloop79 · 10/01/2008 17:49

ah kiddicare huge congratulations! Looks like we're getting some good luck on here again

mibbes · 10/01/2008 18:10

sambrads - re-read your last post about baby clothes in Next "was so tempted to baby something" - oooh maybe a subconscious slip, could that mean something...

Fruitloop I agree with you about agnus castus, I have also been put off by MN threads, but will let you know what happens this cycle - either it regulated me so much that I ov'd earlier than expected (hence the -ve opks) or it has made egg go AWOL... time will tell. I have to say I doubt it had much effect though as only took 1 a day as didn't read the packet (supposed to take 4 !)

Anyone taking any other interesting supplements other than pregnacare/folic acid ? My cupboard is always brim full of the latest fad-supplements to take - I like to take then until I rattle !

kate2179 · 10/01/2008 19:26

Eveing ladies, this thread really does move fast !

fruitloop I heard the same thing about EWCM being more stretchy than The-Swimmers-Who-Didn't-Make-It, but surely if you had both arriving at the same time then the EWCM would be obscured by the ex-swimmers?? I gave up looking for EWCM this month, just forced DH into bd-ing every or every other day from 21st dec to 3rd Jan - figured that should cover it!! Although, sods law, was convinced I hadn't ov'd and got a bit depressed/pissed off about it so gave up a day or so before fertilityfriend reckons I finally OV'd... hopefully there was enough already there & waiting by then (TMI?!? )

As far as persona/clearblue monitors are concerned, I used persona for contraception for about a year after coming off the pill. It didn't tell me I was ov-ing every month and in fact didn't tell me I ov'd the month I got pg or the month before that, but clearly I was! I have no experience of the clearblue monitor but I would probably go for that as Persona is more focused towards NOT getting pg rather than ttc. Good luck, will be very interested to hear how you get on with them.

As for trying any other hocus pocus, someone recommended flax seed oil as a really good source of Omega 3 which is apparently the most important one to supplement (6 is found in more foods and your body can make 9 itself). So I bought some, bloody expensive and absolutely RANK!!! Only managed one spoonful so far, about a month ago !

Hello mibbes and clairepo Sounds like we're all in a v similar position where our bodies have tricked us into realising we want babies rather sooner than we thought we did! They say you should be careful what you wish for, but I really hope this one comes true for us all
