TWINKLINGFARIY so sorry to hear your news!!!

i lost my father in law at the end of october and i have been numb since !!
i cried my eyes out nearly every day from we heard in may that he had 6 months and when he died i felt a great peace as he was a good christian man!!!

my husband has not cried as he accepts that he is better with god than suffering but it is hard!!

take care of yourself

Twinklingfairy So sorry to hear about your granddad. He sounds like a lovely man who will be sorely missed by all his family. As somebody else said, don't beat yourself up about your response to the news - there is no right or wrong way of dealing with grief. Every person deals with it in his or her own way. The bereavement threads on MN are very helpful if you feel the need to talk to others in similar situations (in addition to us of course). Thinking of you and take care (((hugs)))

GreenGlassGoblin · 09/01/2008 13:29

Twinklingfairy, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandad. I don't think you are heartless either. What you wrote was beautiful, you sound like you loved your grandad very much. As others have said, there is no right way to grieve. I was similar over my grandad's death - he was ready to go and it was the right thing. I think of him often with love and affection, but never went to pieces. It doesn't mean the love wasn't there. My thoughts go out to you and your family, and I hope you can all cope with your sadness.

beaniesteve · 09/01/2008 13:32

Got my period Yesterday (dead on 28 days, and a Tuesday again!) - it's really heavy and has been since I came off the pill (mini)
This is only my 3rd Period since I came off the mini-pill and I'm starting to get disappointed about not getting pregnant, even though I am not stressing or obsessing.

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 13:34

ah twinklingfairy so sorry . Everyone copes in all different ways. There's really no such thing as a 'right' way.

Hi sambrads. I've obviously got nothing better to do with my life than searching for funny websites It was funny though. People must actually do this, It's amazing what desperation can do to us! I just hope we're not all searching for this link in a few months time

GreenGlassGoblin · 09/01/2008 13:42

fruitloop, that site is bizzare I should be working, and it distracted me for ages! (even more than obsessively checking for AF, now 3 days overdue...)

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 13:43

beaniesteve I've heard the pill can take around 6 months to come out of system so don't lose heart! I came off the pill beginning Aug and my cycles haven't settled yet - waited 3 months for last one!
I'm not obsessing or stressing yet, honest - well not in real life anyway

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 13:45

ooh GGG 3 days! are you normally very regular? will you be testing???????

ClairePO · 09/01/2008 13:52

GGG when are you testing - sounds very promising! I have everything crossed here.

GreenGlassGoblin · 09/01/2008 13:56

yep, 3 days, but if I'm pg, it was only concieved 11 days ago after an amazingly unlikely late ovulation that didn't tie in with my CM patterns. So I'm feeling sceptical IF AF isn;t here by Friday I'll test, but I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up. And I'm usually as regular as clockwork, 27 days. AARGH.

ClairePO · 09/01/2008 14:00

I'd have comped through my nails and be down to my knuckles by now. Your self restraint is impressive!

I started spotting earlier, which is normally for me the day before AF, which is due tomorrow so it looks like I'll be back to CD1 tomorrow.

ClairePO · 09/01/2008 14:01

chomped, not comped, obviously!

GreenGlassGoblin · 09/01/2008 14:08

My pg test is sitting in the cupboard, calling me but I am strong (lol). I'm getting no work done though (this plus looking after small DS very poorly with balanitis - badly infected foreskin - poor boy. Very distracting though). Sorry you're looking at CD1 again. Still sure I'll be joining you though

MrsEi25 · 09/01/2008 14:35

hi ladies

to hear your bad news twinklingfairy you sound (by your post) like you loved your grandad very much and it is a very common reaction to not cry when bad news is recieved it doesnt by any stretch mean you are heartless it just means you have a different way of dealing with information so shocking as this. thinking of you xx

MrsEi25 · 09/01/2008 14:45

oops pressed the post thing too soon!!
AF still hasnt arrived here!! i posted on the 2ww thread for a bit of advice re: dud pg tests! so here goes as i would like a bit of a varied lot of comments iyswim!!
i did a asda cheapo test on sunday BFN and decided to wait a few days and tested yesterday mornin and got a v.v strange result IMO! instead of the vertical line in the result window there was a diagonal one to the left of the little window. this was dark pink the same as the control and bled out a little either side. DH thinks it is simply a BFN again and that the test was broken but i wasnt sure so i thought i would ask on here just for a bit of advice!! either way i am still having alsorts of symptoms not least the heartburn and nausea so i am itching to test again but i dont get paid til tomorrow so i cant even buy another one til then anyway!![grr]
how is everyone else??
GGG sounds promising for you fingers crossed
clairepo sorry AF got you she can be an a-hole cant she!!
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 14:46

GGG well I was gonna try an persuade you to grab the test but you're wise to leave it a couple days.

Oh, it's sooo frustrating. Day 17 and no sign of ovulation. This is the first time I'm actually looking for signs.
Maybe I'm in for another long 88dayer . I convinced myself I felt ov pain the other day but it turned out it was wind . still gonna get down to business every other day just in case. What'll really p*ss me off is not ovulating at all. Oh I'll be so cross!

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 14:49

ooh mrsEi I'll be staying tuned tomorrow then! I wish I could email you a test, I've got loads!

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 14:51

IMO you're not likely going to get a false positive in fact I'm not sure it's possible is it? Best to wait till tomorrow as the line will be stronger. When was/is AF due?

MrsEi25 · 09/01/2008 15:03

forgot to add poor DD is really sick and had an awful day yesterday (her birthday!!) the poor little love has got an upper airways infection and bacterial dermatitis on her lips and her little bum so shes dosed up to the eyeballs and sleeping most of today!! she is making up for the hour of sleep she got last night between sobbing with the sore bum etc we sat and had a good cry at 3am and then she had a little sleep but i jus feel like cuddling her but she wont let anyone near her unless its for medicine and thats only cos we have to force her
hopefully shes over the worst of it as she hasnt seemed quite as uncomfortable today.
xx ei xx

MrsEi25 · 09/01/2008 15:06

ah thanx fruitloop i think i might get DH to pick me one up later but he hates seein the BFN's more than i do so is keen to just wait and see!! men eh!!
i was due on sat 5th/sun 6th i usually get a visit in the middle of the two days with spotting startin the first day and full on flow on the second so i am 3/4 days over!! what a pain in the bum it is havin to just wait!! all for a good cause though eh!!
xx ei xx

fruitloop79 · 09/01/2008 15:29

well, sorry to get your hopes up but that does sound very promising

Your poor DD I hope she's back to normal very soon bless her.

MrsEi25 · 09/01/2008 15:35

fruitloop my hopes are unfortunately already right up there!! i know i shouldnt but its hard not to when things go the way they do!!
