hi.. can i have some advice please.im ttc number 2 on cd 33 of usual 26 day cycle when not on the pill. i finished taking the pill in december. no sign of af. got +opk on cd17 and done loads of test bfn. just done another opk cos ive got no other tests to pee on and im addicted and its + again. i dont know whats happening.do i grab dh again and hope for the best or what.

MrsEi25 sounds very hopeful...do you think you'll manage to wait or are you testing tonight/tomorrow ?
GGG what about you, do you think you'll hold out until the weekend ? Is that test calling you... ?

Still no af here yet, not officially late yet but glad to see no spotting so far as up to 6 days of spotting in previous cycles was worrying me with regards to potential luteal phase defect. Still have mild cramps occasionally. May test at the weekend if no af but not very hopeful due to apparent lack of egg this month

oh dear colabottle how annoying . Have read posts whereby MNers have had false +ve on opks - apparently you can actually have more than one LH surge in a cycle - although not sure why/what this means. Was the line definitely darker than the control line ? I did opks this cycle and had very, very light lines for days on end but never as dark as or darker than the control line so I disregarded as -ve result. I'm sure some of the other ladies will be able to help more than me. It is a flipping nightmare trying to catch the egg !

yes looks darker and tbh looks darker than the 1st one i had on cd17.it wasnt this complicated last time ttc im sure. just dont know what is going on.

Nothing to report here - I don't temp either and after getting no positive results on the OPKs last month I ditched those and decided to rely on EWCM. Had loads at the weekend (sorry TMI ), which I thought was quite early considering my last couple of cycles have been 32/35 days. Only managed BD'ing on Saturday night so am hoping we managed to catch the egg, assuming one appeared. I don't really get any ov symptoms, not that I've noticed anyway so can't really tell. No more EWCM so fingers crossed! How about you? Sounds like you're wearing out your DH

at cycle buddies mibbes and emmsy, nothing much to report here, temp still high 6DPO... am starting to think I must have ov'd when fertilityfriend said I had because of what my temp has done since and am just wishing the days away til it's time to test (af permitting ) Though chances of conception probably not great as didn't notice any EWCM.. so who knows!! Have revised prospective testing day to sat 19th on the gounds that last +ve which ended up as a mc came from a test on 20th (am I crazy...?)

Spoke to a girl I lived with at uni last night, she's just found out she's pg with No.2, she found out about DS1 on my wedding day, so I hope that will be a good sign for me! If not it will just be something to add to my "Things I Don't Think I Can Cope With But Will Just Have To - You Never Know I Might Surprise Myself" list - catchy title huh?!?
Top of the list is seeing the girl I work with occasionally who is due 3 days before I would have been if I hadn't mc'd. Haven't seen her with a bump yet, and quite frankly I am dreading it... any tips?

Is anyone esle taking agnus castus or evening primrose? If so, should I stop them during the 2ww or just carry on as normal and stop if bfp shows up? (please god!)

Kate Just a quick note to say I like the catchy title I've no tips but I have a few of those very situations coming up this week.

1. Tonight I'm going to see my friends baby born 10 days ago. (Will have a good hold as I heard this can help fertility!)

2. Friday afternoon I'm going to my friends house who is due the same time as I would have been if my 1st Chemical PG had stuck.

3. Saturday night we are going out with friends one is due the same time I would have been if 2nd chemical Pg had stuck and one is just 11 wks PG.

it is had. im very guilty of totally avoiding my mate who had her ds 4 weeks after i had my 2nd mc. i avoided her for ages and by the time i did see he the present i got for them was unsuitable. its a natural thing i think. you cant really helpit.

Great news about holding babies helping fertility,didn't know that, I have one friend due next week and 2 more due within 2 days of each other in 5 weeks time!! Don't feel so about them though, think it's because their LOs were well on the way before we started trying - am afraid the pg I mc'd was something of a surprise, oh the irony...

becaroo don't worry! I was confused about some of the acronyms for ages! EWCM = Egg White Clear Mucus (nice huh!) - ie the fertile mucus that someone, possibly fruitloop? - posted ever such an attractive photo of earlier! You probably know this already, but there's a good chance you'll OV (ovulate) within 12-24 hours of spotting it, so it kind of becomes the holy grail of all ttc-ers (Trying To Conceive) and signals the start of lots of bd-ing (Baby Dancing)! Included as many as I could think of in that little passage, but just shout if there are any more you're not sure about, I was confused for ages about TEW, worked out it meant period, same as af (Aunt Flo), but had to ask someone to be told it stood for The Evil Witch!

On the subject of EWCM and way tmi (too much information for the benefit of becaroo ) but I think mine is more like jelly. I may have to go google to see if this is a bad thing. Obviously I'm some sort of freak.

i was wondering if the CM always has to be EW consistency and does it always have to be clear?? i have never really paid that much attention to my secretions so its odd talking 'out loud' with everyone about it!!(you would think i would be used to this talk by now but hey ho looks like iv still got a bit of getting used to to go!!iyswim the reason i ask is cos my CM is usually more milky or jelly like depending on the time of the month. i asked the nurse on my last smear before i started TTC who swabbed it just in case and it seems its normal for me. does this make a difference?? obv im askin just in case this month turns out to be a big fat tease!!
ok enough rambling from me... any thoughts??

Hi all, i came off the pill in October and dp and i started trying straight away but no luck and i got AF 39 days after the first day of 'bleeding' from coming off the pill.

Dp and i decided to wait until May to try again because we don't want the new baby to be born near dd's birthday and near Christmas. We have been using condoms since my last AF which started on the 6th December. Two weeks ago dp and i had one time unpretected sex in the moment and i thought it would be fine because i was 3 weeks past my last AF and one week away from the next Af. Plus i was having AF symptoms such as mouth ulsers which i always get before AF.

Now AF is late and i am not sure if it is because my body is still adjusting from the pill or if it is because my unpretected sex two weeks ago has led me to concieve? I have been getting light cramps and keep thinking i am coming on but nothing.

you can drink grapefruit juice to make it clearer and thinner, but I've also heard just drinking lots of does the trick too!

Btw kate I'm 6dpo too! Looks like we'll be testing buddies!

Ladies, I think EWCM can be various consistencies - some are not even stretchy, more watery. Also I was told that EWCM doesn't always make it down to your knickers so there may be some up there you are unaware of .

Kate2179 I took agnus castus this cycle for 2 weeks until I read a very negative thread on here about it which put me off - the girl said that her egg just went AWOL for weeks when she took it so I'm hoping this hasn't caused my apparent lack of egg - I'd read it helps with luteal phase defect so took it - only 1 a day though. I think it is only to be taken until ovulation, but if taken all cycle it must be stopped as soon as BFP. Also I took EPO as read it can help increase the amount of EWCM (after I got none last cycle too). Apparently it is also only to be taken until ovulation. However, I was having a nosey on the Sept ante natal thread to see how the waiting room ladies are getting on and I think it was Excitable that said her midwife was very surprised that she had managed to get pregnant while taking EPO . I have resolved not to interfere next cycle and try to exercise some bl00dy patience !!

There are good pictures of sticky CM and egg white CM in the Taking Charge of your Fertility book but I can't find them online. But the article below has a picture and a good chart thing of various mucus stages (I haven't read it in detail but looks like a bit of a sales pitch but it will give you an idea)

MsSparkle if you're a week late I would test, if its negative then I would assume that it is just a long cycle as your hormones are still settling down post pill.

I like grapefruit juice so will giveit a try - I assume drink from start of cycle? I will also try more fluids in general, have been drinking a lot of water and squash lately as been really thirstay all the time.

MsSparkler i would test if i were you i am late also and i will be testin tomorrow if its possible or friday mornin if not!! there are a couple of us testin over the next few days and there is always that little bit of advice if needed we r a friendly bunch!!

It's ironic because i don't actually want to pregnant right now! I don't want a September baby and was aiming for a Spring 09 baby.

I'd love to be in the position of just being pregnant, I am past the stage of caring what time of year it is but hey ho, each to their own.
