07mumstheword · 08/01/2008 16:00

Sorry clairePO Me too with a BFN this morning I know AF is on her way but couldn't resist peeing on a stick to find out

GGG Fingers crossed for you.

Eleved Welcome to the thread and good luck.

Hello everyone else.

I love the honesty about BD'in I posted a couple of days ago that I've ordered a book "sex by numbers" for inspiration, I should get it this week then I can get revising for the next months bd'in

I'm begining to think I should take a break from TTC but I can't let the opportunities go by without trying our best. I thought I'd relax last month but those all important dates are etched into my memory.

Anyway the other book I ordered is "take charge of your fertility" so that along with our annual eat healthy and get fit regime should give us a helping hand.

Hello everybody!
Sorry to hear about BFN ClairePO - it sucks
Welcome Eleveld, hopefully you won't be here for too long IYSWIM.
MrsEi any news? You were going to test today!
Hello to Sambrads my new cycle buddie! How long are your cycles usually? Mine have been between 29 and 35 since the mc so I won't be testing until 26 Jan, assuming AF hasn't made an appearance in the meantime. How about you?
Had my first acupuncture appointment at lunchtime to see if it helps with regulating my cycles and also with ttc. Fingers crossed!

ClairePO · 08/01/2008 16:07

Hey MTW sorry about your BFN I have heard good things about the taking charge of your fertility book. So what is the sex by numbers one about? Well, sex, obviously but whats the by numbers bit mean?!

I can't just say I won't try this cycle either, I just can't, even if I think it.

OK I have got pains now and they are not AF pains. And they keep moving, a little while ago they were on my left, just below and the left of my tummy button, now they are on my right, but much lower and further right. I think I should get some deflatine or whatever the stuff for trapped wind is!

So sorry about bfn Claire, but on day 28 could it just be too early to show up? I forget what the stats are, but the tests are nowhere near as accurate early on even though in theory you can get a +ve result 4 days before af is due... but I'm sure you know this already hope you're ok.

Hi mibbes did you mean you're going to wait to test this weekend (12th-13th) or the following weekend? Am currently still sticking to sunday 20th if af hasn't arrived by then... def don't want to test before that. If af hasn't arrived by monday am going to cancel the smear (any excuse !) and then assuming I'm not pg am going to try to go along to the walk-in clinic at the local hospital as early as I can during my next cycle and have a smear there plus a full screen GUI test, not that I think anything will show up (it better not or DH is for the highjump ) but Zita West reckons you should have a full screen done before ttc and esp if you have a mc. And if Zita says so, who am I to argue?!?!

Am stupidly desperate to see some implantation spotting over the next few days... will I ever learn?? Temp this morning was highest yet despite the fact that I took it pretty early so who knows...

{{{hugs}}} to all. Now off to walk the hound. xx

ClairePO · 08/01/2008 16:09

Hey cricri what did the therapist say? Does she help many people with ttc? I have wondered about reflexology as I'm a wimp with needles. So how do you feel after your treatment?

ClairePO · 08/01/2008 16:13

Kate I don't think too early for a Clearblue digital - I'm 12dpo so only testing two days early and like you say they are OK to use up to 4 days early.

Fingers crossed that AF doesn't turn up and you have to cancel that smear!!

kate2179 · 08/01/2008 16:15

Crikey, cross posted with about 4 people! Have obviously picked a peak time to be on here

Forgot to say welcome eleveld, you've come to the right place, this is such a supportive thread!

Sorry about bfn 07MTW could it just be too early? are your cycles normally relatively short if you're testing on CD24?

kate2179 · 08/01/2008 16:20

Thank you Claire - I hope I have to as well! Bloody accurate bloody advanced technology, I sometimes wonder if it actually makes things harder for us as so much more information is potentially available. But, certianly in my case, knowing it's there makes it practically impossible not to try to access it, iykwim...

07mumstheword · 08/01/2008 16:22

Claire Sex by numbers was recommended in Woman mag so thought at something like £7.99 it was worth a look. I'll let you know if it does the trick. I had pains like yours on my right side last wk and convinced myself it was implantation but it was probably wind.

Kate My cycles have been 25-27 days the last few months so not ridiculously (sp?) early. I'm sure TEW will show up in the next few days.

Must go and get started on tea.

cricri · 08/01/2008 16:25

It's so busy on here at the moment!
07MTW sorry to hear about BFN for you too.
ClairePO My therapist isn't specialised in fertility per se (I live in a small-ish town) but she has 20 years experience so she's seen most things in that time. She's recommending weekly sessions for the next couple of weeks as acupuncture apparently has a cumulative effect. Next month (assuming I'm not pg) the treatment will be more targeted around the time I should ov. I found the treatment very relaxing - I find it difficult to relax so it was good to be forced to lie down for 20 minutes and do nothing. The needles themselves stung a little as they went in but weren't uncomfortable during the treatment itself. I felt a bit light-headed and very sleepy afterwards and could easily have gone to bed for a couple of hours! Unfortunately I had work to do so I had to crack on with that.
I have my regular homeopathy appointment on Thursday so I'm hoping that something will help! I'm sure reflexology would be as good as acupuncture - it's been recommended by several MNetters.

sambrads · 08/01/2008 16:32

hi ya cricri!!!!!!!!!

my cycle can be between 30 til 35 days long but i will test on 23rd as long as af has not shown her ugly head hahaha!!!!

i have been thinking about temping how do i do this or were do you get the stuff ????

the clear blue ovulation tests are crap as i can never get one that works and it was £ 90 down the drain!!!

why are they so expensive when they no how badly we need them !!scum bags!!!!

had a bit of a fall out in an other thread cause i kind if spoke my mind has this happened to anyone else !!

sambrads · 08/01/2008 16:33

clairepo thanks for adding my cycle number and mumstheword were did you get your book from ??????

ClairePO · 08/01/2008 16:46

Temping all you need is a basal body temp thermometer that reads to two decimal places (e.g. 36.93, which was my temp this morning!) which you can get from a chemist. Go to Fertility Friend, sign up for an account, read the emails they send you every day for 20 days and away you go. It is really very easy. Not that I am pregnant yet but I put that down to my age not my lack of effort and application.

And I just use ovulation prediction tests I get from ebay, they work fine for me!

sambrads · 08/01/2008 17:37

hi ya clairepo thanks for the advice

can anyone tell me what cervical fluid is ment to like or feel like ??????
i know its an awful question!!!!

i was on another thread and had a bit of a barny with has anyone else had this problem???

becaroo · 08/01/2008 17:57

Could anyone tell me when was the earlist they had a BFP after "doing the deed?"

My dh and I last "did it" on 30 Jan (only 9 days ago)...too early to test????

fruitloop79 · 08/01/2008 18:02

Wow, you lot have been busy while I've been in Sainsburys!
Hang on, gonna have a read................................................................................................ .........................

Hi Eleveld welcome to the thread

ah claire and MTW so disappointing. So easy to get our hopes up no matter how much we try to convince ourselves otherwise Good luck for next time

Hi sam bloody hell didnt realise you were on cycle 8! must've driven you mad. Thank goodness you're finally on the good stuff eh! I'm only on cycle 3 although technically I missed about 3 AF's so should be cycle 6

Oh yeah, I noticed you were causing trouble on the other thread
There's another thread on here somewhere recently that explains CM (hang on i'll try find it)

I've just ordered 'taking charge of fertility' too. Mines a second hand Amazon one. Only cost 4 quid. I hope it's in good condition and not been scribbled all over

07mumstheword · 08/01/2008 18:12

Sambrads I got my books from Play.com their prices are usually cheaper than most and free delivery straight to your door.

Regarding barnys there was a lady here (I think it may have been Starlight but not sure) who had a real falling out on a thread about the way she chose to feed her 1 year old an Avocado They were really quite harsh on her.

Becaroo There was a lovely lady on here Shazza who got a BFP 9 dpo.

OP posts:
fruitloop79 · 08/01/2008 18:12

there you go sam
I thought I'd give it a go myself before I start getting obsessed with temping!

becaroo · 08/01/2008 18:14

Erm...

07mumstheword · 08/01/2008 18:17

dpo = days post ovulation

OP posts:
digitalgirl · 08/01/2008 18:18

sam EWCM is like clear snot, here's a picture

mibbes · 08/01/2008 18:22

'days post ovulation' becaroo - it takes a while to get up to speed with all of these acronyms
sambrads if you want to know about CM read the "Taking charge of your fertility" book that MTW and Fruitloop mentioned - it has details of all CM and pictures (possibly TMI though !!). It is really useful in helping you understand your cycle and fertile days.
