Hello hope you can find me I'm off to get the list.

OP posts:
LobstersLass · 07/01/2008 19:04

My dh doesn't know about the OPKs either. He'd flip!

What's this about not doing it first thing in the morning? I hadn't realised that? Oh heck. Is that definitely right?

LobstersLass · 07/01/2008 19:11

Just looked at the Clearblue site and it states this:

Test every day at any time of the day, although it should be the same time each day. Most women find that first thing in the morning is the most convenient. It is important that you haven?t urinated for at least 4 hours before doing the test, because this ensures that the level of LH in your urine is concentrated enough for the test to detect.

I think I'll carry on doing it in the morning as it's not convenient to take the tests to work. It's hard enough squirelling them away in the house!

glastochick I'm liking this idea of treating yourselves every month it doesn't happen. Researching restaurants will at least take my mind off counting days!

LuckyBucky · 07/01/2008 20:01

Lobsterlass I've always been told not to test in the morning for LH Surge opk site. See under 'before you begin'...

fruitloop79 · 07/01/2008 20:41

ooh GC skiing will be fun. It'll give you something to look forward to and keep your mind off TTC for a bit.

Does anyone know anything bout OV pain/discomfort?

I cant say I've ever noticed but now I'm trying to get in tune with my bod I was wondering if I might have felt something today. It felt a bit like AF pain but on the left side. This could well have been (and probably was) just wind . My friend says she literally feels it pop out and can always tell which side it pops out every month!

sambrads · 07/01/2008 21:04

HI YA FRUITLOOP I WAS ON ANOTHER THREAD AND I ASKED IF CLOMID MADE YOU FEEL ANY DIFFERENT IE THAT YOU LITERALLY FEEL YOUR OVARIES WORKING FLAT OUT AND ALOT OF PEOPLE SAID THAT THEY FELT NOTHING SO IM NOT SURE!!!

I WOULD SAY THOUGH THAT IT IS POSSIBLE

SOMETIMES I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE A GOOD THING TO FEEL IT AS YOU NO EVERYTHING IS OK AND WORKING PROPERLY!!!

OH YEAH I FORGOT YOUR IN YOUR FERTILE TIME SOON SO MAYBE!!!!!

Lobsterlass I've been using OPK's for a few months now and test first thing because it is convenient and I can't hold my wee for 4 hours. I was advised on MN that it may not be a good idea to use FMU but after reading the Clearblue instructions I figured that FMU was ok. Perhaps it depends on the brand? Each to their own but I've found FMU to be fine for me....although I'm not PG yet!!!

I used to keep the OPK's secret from DH but the last couple of months he's known and it hasn't hampered his performance yet if anything it's me that gets more anxious

OP posts:
LobstersLass · 07/01/2008 21:14

Hi mumstheword, have you been using Clearblue? And if so, have you been getting the little smiley face using FMU?

Thanks.

07mumstheword · 07/01/2008 21:25

Yes I've been using Clearblue Digital and don't seem to have any problems with FMU I do get and have discovered I ovulate early (between days 9-12) so for me this information has been invaluable. We try to BD more regularly from CD8 then when I get I know I hopefully already have a fighting chance and we continue to BD for a few days after Then we are knackered!

A friend of mine is going to lend me her OPK that is about £100 in the shops (sorry the name of it escapes me at the moment). I don't know if it is any more effective but if I end up on cycle 10 I'll try anything!

I'm CD23 of a normally 25-27 day cycle and don't feel PG at all Time will tell.

OP posts:
LobstersLass · 07/01/2008 21:43

Oh honey, you never know. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I have a 25-27 day cycle too! I'm on CD10 at the moment.

kate2179 · 07/01/2008 22:09

Hello ladies, my goodness you've been busy today, taken me ages to catch up!

ei good luck for your testing tomorrow - will be thinking of you!

welcome becaroo and sambrads! So sorry to hear about your mc becaroo, such a horrible thing to go through... having been there myself I know I wouldn't wish it on anyone and I hope to God neither of us ever have to go through it again... hope you're ok. Have you joined the ttc after mc thread? They are a very supportive bunch of ladies - as are the ladies here of course!

re not telling dp's about OPKs etc, shall I tell you a secret? When I started temping my temps were all over the place and someone advised taking it vaginally so it can't be affected by sleeping with your mouth open... and my dh still doesn't know! Thank goodness for these dark mornings!!! I just lay on my side with my back to him and hope it doesn't take too long to get the reading !!!

hi mibbes - clairePO was spot on, fertilityfriend said wait til 18 DPO to test. However... my luteal phase always used to be 14 days (I think...) and if I wait til 22nd I think I'll be CD44 which is what I was when I tested +ve last time, but as that ended in mc I don't want to do ANYTHING the same as I did last time... does that make sense? Will prob test on sunday 20th if af hasn't shown up by then... What are you planning to do? As others have said, there are plenty of people on here who have conceived on months with no from OPK so I will be keeping everything crossed for you.

For any fans of clearblue (all of us?!?) they had 20% off OPKs and HPTs in Sainsburys on saturday, not the digital HPTs though. xx

mibbes · 07/01/2008 22:37

Kate2179 I plan to wait until next weekend at least if af has not got me by then. cramps have completely gone but am constantly waiting for them to return.. ikwym about not doing things same as last time - don't want to tempt fate. What are you doing about smear ?
Good luck to ladies tetsing tomorrow

sambrads · 08/01/2008 08:55

good morning everyone how are you has anyone any good news?????

been feeling a bit down all morning as i really dont think this is my month (again)!

i have to wait til 23rd before i can test and this month is so dragging !!
i go on 11th to get bloods done to check if im ovulatng so hopefully i will be !!

i hate to say this but i am sick of bd-ing my dh this month already !!!
i hate doing it cause i have to is anyone else feel the same??
whatever happened to ripping eachothers clothes off in a mad state of passion !!

my dh said he felt used last night hahaha it was the qiuckest bd-ing ever as i was wrecked. he said he felt like a sperm donner.

GreenGlassGoblin · 08/01/2008 10:10

Hello all
Just popping in so someone can tell me not to be so silly and obsessive. I usually have a regular-as-clockwork 27 day cycle. Am now on day 29 and no sign of AF. BUT only got down to things once this month, and very late in teh cycle, so I simply can't be pg, not without an extra ovulation! Going spare here, not concentrating on my work, dashing to the loo every 2 mins to check... Aaargh, someone come and give me a slap!

sambrads · 08/01/2008 10:32

its mad how much your af takes over your life !!!!
my cousin says if she is one day late she is preggers!!!!

do a test to be sure!!!!

sambrads · 08/01/2008 10:34

neveronamonday i just love you thanks for being honest its great to no i am not the only one feeling like that!!!!

can someone put me on the list i dont no how to do it????????

LuckyBucky · 08/01/2008 10:38

Greenglassgoblin it's not impossible. How late is late in terms of BDing? If you have short LP and you BD'd between CD15-17ish it could be possible no? Or maybe you ovulated late, Christmas might have made you stressed...and then a BFP would be even more possible, although this would mean AF would be late anyway too...

GreenGlassGoblin · 08/01/2008 10:54

LB & sambrads, thanks. We BD'd very late - like day 20. It would have to be a second ov, as I had EWCM days 14-17 ish. I think I did ov late, so wouldn't be that amazed if AF turned up today or tomorrow. If there's no sign by the weekend I'll test, but I am going spare here!

ClairePO · 08/01/2008 10:58

GGG its awful when you just can't think of anything else, I would say I hope the next few days fly for you but it would be a hopeful wish, so I'll just say they don't drag too horrendously.

Well those of you that said my sore boobs and nipples meant nothing were absolutely correct, I tested this morning, FMU with a CBD and it said 'not pregnant'. Oh well.

digitalgirl · 08/01/2008 11:18

oh claire sorry for your BFN this morning...I hate them with a passion. maybe test again at the weekend in case you ov'ed a couple of days later than you think? Is that possible?

sambrads what are your details? CD? TTC#? Cycle#? I'll add you to the list!

GreenGlassGoblin · 08/01/2008 11:21

Ah, Claire, sorry to hear that Am sure I will be joining you again soon, not that that is any consolation. Bummer.

Hi
Hope you don't mind me joining. Am very new to this, been reading these messages for a few weeks now.

Have just (2 weeks ago) started TTC # 1 and am absolutely desperate to do a test! But not doing as I'm not due AF until middle of next week sometime.

Have got endo cysts and am also 38 so am not too hopeful at the mo of being able to conceive
Thanks
