Hi Bucky, thank you! But my birthday is in august... why? Did you think you knew me in RL or was it somthing I said?

Also, please would someone tell me what TEW means? Suspect I'm being a bit dumb but can't work it out!

LittleSquirt · 20/12/2007 00:26

Hi Kate

Bucky said that because of your name: 2179 - 2nd Jan 79?

TEW means The Evil Witch (AF)

Morning chaps (well, chapesses). Convinced myself this morning it was friday and therefore my last day of work before Christmas, and was most disappointed to realise that actually it was thursday. I feel somehow cheated.

Pistachio, glad to hear someone else gets worried about nothing! You're a few cds ahead of me, so hopefully we'll both get good news this month and we can stop worrying about it! I'm sure we're both perfectly normal.

Am very pleased to have made it into the final 10 days of my first cycle without going clinically insane, I feel this is something of an achievement . Whether I'll be just as normal and balanced (ahem) in a few months time if I'm still ttc is less certain!

Thanks LittleSquirt - sorry for being a thicko! My only defence is that it was quite late last night when I posted... I realised when I thought about it this morning but last night, no idea!!! You're on the right track though - b'day is 21st Aug '79!

Haven't heard The Evil Witch before though - love it!

Thank you!

kate2179 · 20/12/2007 09:43

cbcb sorry you're feeling rubbish... but you're right, a new year's day baby would be a FANTASTIC start to the year!! Am trying not to think about it (scared of getting me hopes up!) but it's possible we might be on course for a christmas eve baby... [fgin]

MissusHoHoHo · 20/12/2007 10:18

Hi All, haven't been around as much this week - working like a fiend so I can finish tomorrow with a clear desk...

Anyway, weird cycle this month. now on cd35 where all my previous ones were 28-32 days (the 32 days was post-mirena). Tested yesterday and this morning only to get 2 BFNs Now it looks like AF is lurking... I'll update the list once she arrives in force...

I feel really cack and it has put a bit of a dampener (no pun intended) on the holidays... Also DH moves back onto his crap shifts after Christmas (7pm-3am) which really limits the time we have to bd

The cheapie opks from ebay were totally useless so am going to get a cbfm in the new year...

Sorry to be such a sad old bag but having a longer cycle convinced me that I was pg even thiough I tried to tell myself that I wasn't (have never had longer than 28 days pre-dh & mirena). Even had hopeful symptoms...

Oh Lordy, bit of a self-pitying rant - sorry again must get some work done otherwise I will be taking some home again...

hopefully · 20/12/2007 10:31

Sorry for everyone feeling down this month, hopefully the new year will bring better luck for all of us who haven't conceived yet.

My dp, who I thought was less mad than me, came home last night with a box of hpts, bless his heart. He said 'best to have them just in case.' Am hoping this means he will be less traumatised if I decide to give temping/opks a go in the new year!

cricri · 20/12/2007 10:34

MissusH Sorry to hear about your BFNs. I sympathise - I gave in this morning and tested and also got BFN. Makes you feel crap doesn't it? I'm also on CD34 (I'm a day out on the list) and this is my longest cycle since coming off the pill and then the mc. Don't know what's going on. I read that ovulation can be delayed by stress/excitement so perhaps that's what happened as this month has been really busy for me. I also feel that AF is lurking but no sign yet. She'll arrive just in time for Xmas no doubt! Oh well, hopefully next month will be our month. I'm tempted to try acupuncture in the new year as I know it's worked for several people.
Hope everybody else is OK.

Twinklingfairy I read somewhere yesterday (while being concerned in advance about my own LP) that les than 10 days is worth investigating, but more than 10 is not really a medical cause for concrn. No idea whether that's true, but slight reassurance maybe? Perhaps worth speaking to doc about all those random remedies people suggest and see if anything's worth taking to lengthem LP.

Pistachio, I feel you have lost the plot almost as much as me, and we're only on cycles 1 and 2! It can only get worse...

DungunGirl · 20/12/2007 13:04

Twingklingfairy....

I have the same problem. I have been charting BBT and it has shown that the longest LT Phase I have experienced in the last 7 months has been 11 days. I have had ones as short as 9 days!

It is definitely worth investigating as you might need a bit of help to boost your progesterone.

I have had 2 blood tests - GP thinks I might have Polycyctic ovaries, but results are not clear cut enough, so I am having an ultrasound in the new year to have a look.

I have also lost half a stone which has resulted in me feeling ovulation pain over the last 2 cycles! Something I don't usually have! So I am getting excited that hopefully weight loss may help ( I am almost 3 stone overweight!!! ).

Actually...can anyone tell me....OVULATION PAIN
Do you feel it as the egg is bursting out of the ovary?

Or is it the pain of the tubes moving the egg down to the uterus?

If I felt pain for the first time last night and a bit more this morning, would I have missed the boat if I get giggy wih hubby tonight? I am on day 16 of my cycle today.

Any help/advice/personal experience woud be hihghly appreciated!

Criminy, am I really on CD31? Not been on here for a while, but I had a BFN at the weekend-- tested just before the MN Scottish meetup so I knew whether I could drink or not!

Thought this might be the month as I was feeling a bit nauseous earlier on but must now accept that it probably had more to do with too many mince pies. Just [yawn] waiting for AF now, consoling myself with further mince pies.

glastochick · 20/12/2007 17:40

Hi All

Been a bit quiet lately as trying to get everything sorted at work so I can leave tomorrow and not worry until I get back in the office next year!!! First break ever Christmas ever since starting work after leaving education

Already on CD14 - BD'd on CD10 and CD13. No sign of any EWCM. Going by previous months think I ovulate late. Not started temping or using OPKs but may consider that in the new year just to get a clearer picture.

But, seeing as I'm at home all of next week and DH is working from home, here's to plenty of BD'ing in time for OV. Would love to get a BFP at the start of the new year

grinningbee · 20/12/2007 18:29

Thanks for all the lovely messages. Big hugs to you all.

We talked again last night and he came out with his reason for what happened. He said because he knew it was the day, instead of enjoying himself he found himself (you'll love this!)mentally talking to his willy and sperm to tell them to do a good job. Of course, this had the opposite effect!

He said he wants a dc more than anything, so it wasn't the mmc or the thought of a wailing baby that put him off.

I do sadly think I am out of the running though this month. We last bd'd successfully on cd14, and I got peak readings on cd18 and cd19. Surely the little guys couldn't last that long?

Ah well. I have other things to occupy my brain at the minute. I'm thinking about starting a fudge business. That'll be good for my waistline!!!

santasmissus · 20/12/2007 22:08

sorry grinningbee but i can't help lmao. at least it's nothing serious.

poor guy! i think we do put more pressure on them than we realise or they can handle, doesn't really matter if we're feeling the pressure of ttc as we only have to lie there and hope that his swimmers are getting there, they actually have to do something and have to take some responsibility. i think it was dg who already said this.

i try really hard not to tell dh when "tonight's the night". have only had to a couple of times when he was too tired to be seduced but still had to get the job done . i have a friend who said her hubby just couldn't perform at all if she even hinted that the timing was crucial

kate2179 · 20/12/2007 23:36

grinningbee so glad you're feeling better, and wonderful that your DH does want DC - I always assume/hope my DH does, but you never really KNOW unless they say... Swimmers could def last from CD14 to CD18 but who knows, will have to wait and see I guess!
Will keep everything crossed for you (well, perhaps not quite everything !!)
Feeling very tonight, I know it's silly and I think it's mainly cos have been on DH's work christmas party tonight with a little too much vino, but am worried that mc is a sign I ought to be looking at what we have, instead of focusing on what we have not (ie any DCs) but very difficult as the more time goes on, the more I am forced to acknowledge that I want a baby more than anything
