@hoola23 you're not out until the witch arrives! 🙂🙂 I get the pissed of feeling. I got that this month when AF was early. My first reaction was "ARE YOU HAVING A F***H LAUGH?!" Then the tears came. You have every right to feel angry and sad and frustrated chick. But don't count your cards just yet! You never know when one month might surprise you!

Well as awful as it sounds I fully believe this month wasn't meant to be as I've just found out that my grandad has passed away this afternoon. I think if I had been pregnant it would have been an awful lot to happen and deal with all at once. I'm not a religious person, but I do believe things happen for a specific reason. Oh well. Bottle of wine will most certainly be on the table tonight!!

plantbasedlondoner · 05/10/2021 16:52

CShandy01 sorry to hear about your grandad hun, hope you are doing ok. you definitely deserve that bottle of wine later xx

@hoola23 I totally get this feeling. It can all feel so relentless. Woke up with a big spot on my face and feeling really bloated so definite PMS symptoms, it is going to be a week I think before AF shows up as it feels like a long cycle but I want it to be over so I can move onto the next. Going to try DTDing way more regularly next month so at least I can say I tried as we have been far too irregular to date!

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 16:59

@CShandy01 oh I'm so sorry lovely, that's so increasingly sad. Hope your family are ok and you can help each other through it.

I totally get the whole everything happens for a reason theory, and I really do believe it. Doesn't make it feel any better mind!

The stupid thing was, I actually don't want to be pregnant this month. We've decided to do further renovations which means borrowing on the mortgage more and I don't want pregnancy/mat leave to affect the application etc. Also means some of our current savings are going to be spent on the preparation which panics me as I like to have as much as poss in savings! So the longer I'm not pregnant, the more I can save each month. So I don't know why I feel so raging. I don't even know if it's about pregnancy in general!

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 17:58

Unless it's raging pregnancy hormones @hoola23!? Just kidding hun I totally get the rage! Did you have an instinct you were pregnant before your bfp? How long for?

@CShandy01 sorry to hear that hun-enjoy your wine-big cheers to your grandad 😘

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 18:00

@newtolineofduty highly doubtful🤣 yeah last month I had the feeling I was, had a wobble when I got the Evap but I messaged my friend the next day saying I just have the feeling and was right!
Just feel raging today, work was shit which prob didn't help. I messed up my diet too, total lack of control and I hate feeling like this. God is such a negative Nora today! Roll on tomo!

CShandy01 · 05/10/2021 18:28

@hoola23 sometimes those days when you just feel awful you have to ditch the diet. If you don't you'll probably just feel worse chick. Forget the diet tonight and start again tomorrow 🙂🙂 remember that diets should be about finding a good balance and one you can live with. I loved the 1:1 as it shrank my stomach, but I couldn't live with it as I was desperate for other things (like carbs and chocolate 😂😂). Be kind to yourself x

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 18:34

@CShandy01 you're totally right! Head is just not with it today, on many things!

MrsRosaline · 05/10/2021 18:38

@hoola23 I get you. It's difficult because a lot of things in life you can prepare for and plan etc. TTC is so hard because you never know when you'll get lucky and each month you think 'oh god another 4 weeks again'! I also panic about the age difference as each month goes by...

I think I'm about to ovulate as I finally got a flashing smiley, but there's blood when I go to the toilet and in the CM, so maybe my body is still clearing everything out.

@CShandy01 sorry to hear about your grandad xx

@MrsRosaline I totally know what you mean about the age gap. I just keep thinking that DD is going to be a lot older than I wanted to be but equally, that was my choice as I could have started earlier. Guess I always assumed it would be quick like it was the first time.

I'm trying my hardest to stop the "what if" and "why didn't I" questions as I just get myself so worked up sometimes. Easier said than done, but I think sometimes we put so much on our shoulders that we get weighed down and don't get rid of those past frustrations x

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 18:47

@MrsRosaline it really is! I would still DTD if you feel up to it as you never know! I do wonder if I even ovulated. You can get positive opk and not ovulate apparently

I too worry about my age factor. 34 and turning 35 in Dec. DH is 41 so that worries me too. But, these things I can't change or control!

MrsRosaline · 05/10/2021 18:52

@CShandy01 the "why didn't I" questions are the worst. I delayed and delayed - even though my husband wanted to start - because of various work and sporting commitments and now wish I hadn't! I assumed I'd fall first cycle like last time. @hoola23 my DH is 44! I don't worry about that too much, it's the fact that if I fall pregnant, DD will basically be 5 by the time a baby arrives now. My husband seems to think it's fine and we'll make it work. But it's a large gap. I don't want to try this month, I just want to start afresh next cycle.

What are your thoughts on pregnacare @plantbasedlondoner ? After the miscarriage I've added them to my regime because I was only on folic acid and vitamin D before. I am not so good with nutrition and making sure I eat what i need, but I am definitely trying now! I've made a food plan and everything!

CShandy01 · 05/10/2021 19:05

@MrsRosaline I was actually going to ask if anyone takes pregnacare. I've started taking folic acid (started last cycle) just because of my age and it couldn't hurt. Wondering now if I should take more things perhaps? I didn't bother taking anything last time as it was so quick and quite frankly I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Only took folic acid when I was pregnant.

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 19:06

@MrsRosaline hindsight is a wonderful think right. You can't blame yourself for decisions you made when you don't know what the future holds. My DH youngest is 12 so I wouldn't worry about the age gap too much with your little one. If anything would it not be easier as they can entertain themselves to a certain extent at that age. I'm also writing this month off even though I did try! Will start afresh once this AF arrives x

wannabeamummysobad · 05/10/2021 19:32

@plantbasedlondoner and @MrsRosaline I took and still take pregnacare. Told my MW and she was supportive especially during pregnancy because it gives calcium.

To everyone worrying about age gaps I have a 9yr age gap with my younger brother and we are very close. He sees me as a cooler mum and tells me everything. He lives in the spare room of my flat (I live somewhere else with DH) whilst he saves for his deposit.

And to those worried about age I'm 35 in 2 weeks (week of my 12 week scan) and pregnant with number 1.

@newtolineofduty honestly it's so rude DH don't take one for the team and stop eating and drinking fun stuff in solidarity 😂

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 19:37

@wannabeamummysobad yes! Thanks for the reality check! Sometimes you just need to hear from someone else that everything your thinking is not doom and gloom!

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 20:51

I'm also older ladies-36 turning 37 early next year! First baby at 33. Also wishing we'd started earlier but I know for sure it wasn't the right time! I'm another one advocating for larger age gaps! My DD is 2 and DSC are 7 and 9 and they are SO close. They play together adorably! DD is totally catered for in a playgym on park when they're with us!

So DP thinks I'm pregnant due to my lack of control over my eating! I've had two GIANT cookies tonight (DP went out to buy!) but I'm still hungry and DP has just ordered Mac Donald's (his suggestion as we had a small evening meal!) but that's so not like me!!!!!!! But it's exactly how I was early Pregnancy! I used to eat an entire tube of Pringles no problem on an evening! I'm pretty sure it's just emotional eating/pms though! X

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 21:11

@newtolineofduty I was just having the same thoughts- well not exactly but all I've felt like doing is bingeing on crap food today but for me that's usually as AF is coming rather than the opposite!

When is AF due??! I reallllllly hope you are!!!

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 21:28

@hoola23 I'm sure it's just AF but I usually have self control even then and today I have none! AF due sat or Sunday so I really hope it doesn't continue until then! 😂 x going to have to run tomo! X

CShandy01 · 05/10/2021 21:46

@newtolineofduty @hoola23 oooooohhh I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes for you guys!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 imagine a double BFP!!

Have any of you used things like pregnacare whilst TTC? I'm only taking folic acid but DH said something interesting - he said maybe to ask if they work because with having DD maybe I need more vitamins that could help....I mean I'm always tired 😂😂 not sure if I'm clutching at straws here. Deffo won't be using the OPK's or doing anything to track.

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 21:59

@newtolineofduty if it's not normal for you then defo make a note of it, it could a sign!! I ate some pasta and had a few sweets and now I am so full! It could have been a lot worse though!

hoola23 · 05/10/2021 22:00

@CShandy01 I actually just take some pregnancy vitamins from mio mio I think it's called. I like them as they're gummies so feels like a sweet 🤣 I think I took conceive plus or might have been pregnacare and it kept giving me heart palpitations so I just stick to a general vitamin and the pregnancy one which has folic acid and vit d and a bunch of other stufff

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 22:08

@CShandy01 I take pregnacare preconception vitamins which I think has contributed to increased EWCM. I also take a separate vitamin D supplement, as well as ubiquinol for egg health. I also take evening primrose oil for a week to help increase EWCM (deffo helps!). I usually start when my period ends and stop taking when ovulation ends xxx

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 22:10

@CShandy01 this month I'm actually taking Holland and barratts pre conception vitamins as I was in there anyway and was running out, so I'm hoping my EWCM is still as good this month! If not will go back to pregnacare. DH is on wellman preconception vitamins too X

CShandy01 · 05/10/2021 22:13

@newtolineofduty @hoola23 I'm wondering whether to give them a go this cycle or maybe not bother? I'm not quite sure. I've read mixed reviews on pregnacare and that it can completely mess up your cycle. Then again, mines already all over the shoot so wouldn't make much difference!

newtolineofduty · 05/10/2021 22:27

I'd deffo try them @CShandy01 as even if they did mess up a cycle it'd only be temporary. I actually found that they really helped my periods. I used to have like three days of brown spotting before my period whereas now it just starts properly on day 1 so finishes much quicker!

Well I'm even more hacked off now! Bloody gums are bleeding again which was my first symptom with my DD but I also had it last month and it meant nothing, unless I had a chemical or something! If not it must be a new pms symptom for me because it happened at the same time last month-in the days leading up to AF! I hate that my body is potentially teasing me again 😕
